Well, from what I've read, it looks more like more like they both agreed that Ellana should stop calling Solas "hahren" or "professor" since there's something going on between them and when she asked what she should call Solas, he suggested "vhenan". 

 

Not sure about the "da'len" thing though. It looked like he started calling her by her name but then later reminded himself to call her "da'len".

We might have to wait and see in future chapters. (Whenever that would arrive.)

By the way, I forgot to mention that the agreement to call him "vhenan" happens right at the end of the chapter so maybe (hopefully) he would start calling her that as well in future?

Finished latest chapter in Looking Glass

Creative thinking, great writing... But the concept makes me uneasy because I kind of hate thinking of Solas as the reason the entire world was fucked up.

He fucked up once when he raised the Veil, fucked up another time when he thought Corypheus would die, it doesn't mean everything he does is bound to be fucked upppp. I don't like the idea of one character to be the reason for everything wrong in the world.

 

She writes really well but it still doesn't make up for the fact I really dislike time travel stories

It is a good question though, since spirits are timeless, what indeed happens to them when you revert time?

With the lore we currently have at hand I like to think the blight's origin is a corrupt spirit of sorts.

Its' origin is in Void/abyss, which exists below the titans, and the spirit is the "sun" who was thrown into the abyss by Elgar'nan. Said "sun" was a complex spirit of curiosity or craft that gave birth to the first elves and got jealous when they started creating beautiful things that he could not (since he has no physical form and could not affect the unchanging world). He sought to destroy them and one of his "children" (Elgar'nan) threw him into the abyss which was created by a titan.

I wrote about it lengthily in FrankW's thread.

 

Her idea is really good, that the blight is the result of a dead world, storytelling wise it's a better story and has some sort of sad symbolism to it.

 

Btw, I don't have any proof of what I wrote, I just tried to analyze the lore and got to this, everything I wrote is just a theory.

I had a rift mage and now I feel like I would really like to record archer version (With bow) because I usually go for archers in mmo's but now since I heard there was that special dialogue with Solas if you are a mage..

Do any of the scenes change a little if I am an archer?

Okay I have this urge to make a new Lavellan (Same looking kind of as before.. but with this new amazing style I fell for... ) BUT I have to ask.. did any of you have an archer lavellan? I had a rift mage and now I feel like I would really like to record archer version (With bow) because I usually go for archers in mmo's but now since I heard there was that special dialogue with Solas if you are a mage..

Do any of the scenes change a little if I am an archer?

My first Lavellan was an archer. But except for the two or three moments when the quizzy's profession is brought up, there doesn't seem to be any differences. Which bothered me a little, actually, since in the final fight against that dragon she whips out daggers and kills that thing and I was like "WTH? Use your goddamn bow, lady!!" I'm not sure what special dialogue you mean, but I guess it's the specialization dialogue? You would have that talk with the companion who has the same spec as you, I guess. My Lavellan was an Artificer and had a dialogue with Varric about it.

Yes, I have an archer Lavellan and I think Sable has one as well. Not sure about the special mage dialogue with Solas but from what I hear, the only thing I know about having a mage Lavellan is that Solas does talk about your specializations.

 

My archer Lavellan has the Tempest specialization and from my playthrough, you get a special dialogue with Bull about it, of all people.

Dang, that last chapter of Looking Glass slayed me. Elegant theory on the start of the Blight, although it took me a moment to figure out where she was going with things. Their more symbolic moment are beautifully written but confusing. And Solas... arghhhh! I was sobbing at my desk (at work!) and trying to be quiet about it.

 

Whelp, now I need another chapter of her other, fluffier fic to feel better

I agree, that is the only thing so far that made me go 'oh, really? again?' while reading Looking Glass. Like, I love the idea of the Blight as the result of the dead worlds, but I would prefer if someone other than Solas did some time travelling to cause it. He really f*cked up enough already and he can't be responsible for everything that goes wrong with the world.

 

Also, I don't want to nit pick on the fic that I absolutely love, but didn't some conversation in DAI core game imply that Solas didn't know one could time travel? I could  be wrong. It is not really essential, even if true, as I just love the imagination that goes into the fic. I wouldn't be bothered if someone strays from 'canon' occasionally. Just trying to understand if I remember/understand that bit in DAI correctly.

For both of you! Thank you! Because I think I might feel like more myself as if I will be playing with a rogue with a bow.. but woot.. using daggers.. hmm that's... interesting haha

I also feel like since my Lavellan comes after Halla mother that she would rather use bow than be a mage I have this facination with archers x3 my HOF was a rogue but with daggers. My Hawke was healer/blood mage and I really now would maybe MAYBE want my actual canon to be a rogue with a bow
