OK, I sped read through Looking Glass and Message Sent on my lunch break and

I agree, that is the only thing so far that made me go 'oh, really? again?' while reading Looking Glass. Like, I love the idea of the Blight as the result of the dead worlds, but I would prefer if someone other than Solas did some time travelling to cause it. He really f*cked up enough already and he can't be responsible for everything that goes wrong with the world.

 

Also, I don't want to nit pick on the fic that I absolutely love, but didn't some conversation in DAI core game imply that Solas didn't know one could time travel? I could  be wrong. It is not really essential, even if true, as I just love the imagination that goes into the fic. I wouldn't be bothered if someone strays from 'canon' occasionally. Just trying to understand if I remember/understand that bit in DAI correctly.

 

Anyway, loved the last chapter again. So many feels!

Again, it doesn't really matter as far as the fic is concerned, especially as one could interpret it, like you said, him trying to cover how much he really knows.

 

But, yay, glad I remembered something semi-correctly

If I remember right, the only main difference is the lack of discussing magic with him. As a rogue your Lavellan wouldn't have any reason to discuss it, but honestly it's been so long since I played anything but a mage that I forgot. Though his flirt for the rogue is the best of all three, his, "No I am declaring it. It was not up for debate." Gaah! gets me every time.

I also feel like since my Lavellan comes after Halla mother that she would rather use bow than be a mage I have this facination with archers x3 my HOF was a rogue but with daggers. My Hawke was healer/blood mage and I really now would maybe MAYBE want my actual canon to be a rogue with a bow

The dialogue on this video is basically the same dialogue you get even as a non-mage Lavellan. Though I believe there's a very slight difference in dialogue regarding blood magic with a mage Lavellan. (Yes, even my archer Lavellan got the blood magic dialogue.)

 

And of course there's the class specific flirt.

My first Lavellan was an archer. But except for the two or three moments when the quizzy's profession is brought up, there doesn't seem to be any differences. Which bothered me a little, actually, since in the final fight against that dragon she whips out daggers and kills that thing and I was like "WTH? Use your goddamn bow, lady!!" I'm not sure what special dialogue you mean, but I guess it's the specialization dialogue? You would have that talk with the companion who has the same spec as you, I guess. My Lavellan was an Artificer and had a dialogue with Varric about it.

 

The fact that my Archer Lavellan used daggers instead of her bow irked me a lot. I mean, even in DA2's Legacy DLC all weapon specializations got a unique cut scene.

Both my Solasmancers are archers and the first time I heard him say that I was all 'Daaaaayum, Solas.' I did not expect it. I don't know what I was expecting, but it was certainly was not that.

Yes, I have an archer Lavellan and I think Sable has one as well. Not sure about the special mage dialogue with Solas but from what I hear, the only thing I know about having a mage Lavellan is that Solas does talk about your specializations.

 

My archer Lavellan has the Tempest specialization and from my PT, you get a special dialogue with Bull about it, of all people. 

 

Artificer Lavellan gets special dialogue with Varric and Bianca.  And post-Trespasser, the ability to maintain her own sweet magi-tek prosthetics

 

That was definitely smooth as all heck. Made me blush

Magi-tek prosthetics sounds awesome.  I'm guessing post-Trespasser, Tempest Inquisitors could still make do with smashing those alchemical stuff on themselves and being all flashy.

 

The Tempest specialization conversation with Iron Bull made me giggle a bit because of his talk of liking his nipples uncauterized.

I haven't seen the actual post itself but from the reaction posts I've seen on the Solas and Solavellan tags, apparently it has something to do with someone criticizing people who play their Lavellans as "self-inserts" and then claiming that all Solamancing Lavellans are self-inserts. And apparently, people were sending anon hate and death threats over that. Not sure who's sending them to whom but that's what I've gathered. 

When it's like that with people, one feels like there is no for humanity. Although one knows that people in general shouldn't be put over the same edge.

Edit: Is it too much of a stretch to have an Antivan Crow on House of Repose business? Hmmm... I think I got myself into a pickle.

  

I only meant that the first chapter seemed to go nowhere quickly. Solas is asleep for most of it, and her rearranging the furniture is the most exciting thing to happen before I gave up.

I haven't read your fic since I'm non partial to modern AUs or modern protags thrown into the world, so I font know what yours is like.
