Solas is straight, but you can do whatever you want in non-canon fics, of course.
But it was a decision, and a thoughtful one, IMO, to not make him bi because, the devs knew what some people might think about him once his full plans were known, so they wanted to avoid the possibility of this trope. After Trespasser, they could finally tell the full story why he was a female only romance and Weekes revealed that.
For the trope, one can always HC that he's doing it to please Lavellan.
For me the problem would be keeping track of how her character evolves and keeping her voice consistent with the time frame. Haven't tried it yet, but it'd be tough.
For me, this is also why it's important for me to fill in certain pieces before i write others. The middle arc of these three has things that will be important to the third, so those two need to exist. The easiest might be the earliest one, theoretically, since it's just a fluff fic that will only lead into something else a bit more serious in the next one that is related to the second and third.
But then again, you've all seen what kind of brain roadblocks I can encounter when trying to write fluffy things.

Does anyone know of some (hopefully free or very inexpensive) software that can allow you to write individual blocks of text into separate "pieces" and re-arrange the pieces simply by dragging and dropping?
It would help me so much with the way I write things.

That's from Arcane Knowledge Perk, so everyone can get this one, so long as they spent a point on it. The "can't you feel it" near the Well Of Sorrows also belongs to this perk, among few other things.
edit: Funny thing... I did Solas' quest yesterday, and while I did everything as usual, the screen blacked out while the cutscene was loading for a weirdly long time I could hear that the companions are still fighting the demon. Needless to say, what loaded into the game was the cutscene after Wisdom was killed. I was like "wut!?". First time that ever happened to me 
Solas was all heartbroken and all, but all I could do was sit and laugh, because dude - you killed her yourself!

I do this with Word type software but you've reminded me that I've been meaning to try out Quoll Writer. That should do what you're asking. It's free/open source.

oh I always thought that was the mage's one because I always was able to say mage stuff with it.
So this is the archane mark? OH okay.. I had forgotten because I rarely got the mage option 
oh now it all makes sense.. I remember seeing the mage one if you romance cullen yes.. I remember and if you choose to say that a mage will lead you.. I am confusing myself LOL XD thank you

I always have it when I recruit Ellendra too because both Solas and Sera get upset if you have Viv or Dorian talk her into joining when you are not a human mage.

The pink wibbly sunburst is the dialogue symbol for the Arcane Knowledge perk. The glowing blue hand is the symbol for a mage-specific dialogue option.

Lol yeah he and Sera do not like Viv or Dorian talking about magic. Unless you are a human mage, they will not approve or unless you have Arcane Knowledge. I also use Arcane Knowledge to get Solas' amulet during his Veil quest when I play a Trevelyan. He approves.
