Is it just me or did they add more age lines to his face too, like the lines around his mouth seem deeper. Maybe it's just the lighting.
I think it's just the difference of expression. He always had a fabulous set of jowls 
The lighting might make them look exaggerated a bit, too.

He does, actually - it's just a matter of lighting and shadows on face (the one in the scene with him in Trespasser features a very specific type of lighting that is not seen/rarely seen anywhere in game. It makes look both him AND quizzy a tad different).
Personally I don't think they changed much in his face, if at all. The only "major" change that happened to anyone, is likely some minor refinement, especially for facial animations and lipsynch.

They may have made him look that way as whatever he's doing has taken a little bit of a toll.
I know in the romance version, he's deliberately meant to look like he's steeling himself and has a less secure posture, and is overall just...sadder.
But whatever changes they did to his face, he did look quite good.

During Ashe's PT she mentioned that Trespasser had new face animations or something, so that might be why he looks different too. Plus it's been 2 years.

No Human Cole will always be with Maryden. Krem gets no one.

I should put some music on. Frozen is a good choice, but for me, it might be that fluffy pop music stream that I used while writing last time. I think I'm attempting the fluff.

No, it was cut audio that datamined and turned out it was a mistake (which is why it was cut).

That was an error on devs part, actually - one of the writers wrote the banter, they recorded it and then they consulted it with D. Gaider who said that no: they don't. The file stayed in the game though.

Two extremely stressful years no doubt... it's bound to have an effect, just look how getting into office rapidly ages most politicans.
And if the Veil meant that all Elvhen lost their immortality, I guess he's now feeling the effects himself. I guess that Uthenera works by putting them into some kind of suspended animation, so the only way the Ancient Elves we've seen can retain some semblance of immortality post-Veil is to remain in that state pretty much indefinitely.
For all we know, the wizened old elf in the Temple of Mythal that guides us through might be younger than Abelas, but spent more time in the waking world maintaining the temple and so the years took their toll.

Yes I think he's aging for sure. He is no longer immortal due to the Veil. When he knocks it down, I am assuming his full power will return... and I think that power is the wolf demon self-portrait he made. He's not one of the Evanuris so he can't become a Dragon, but I suspect that wolf is more than a symbol. Not wanting his love to see what he becomes could be literal and figurative.

More importantly - do they grow any body hair aside from those on the head

I think he's rushing things predominantly because Thedas is running out of time. As for himself being mortal... no idea at this point. But I'd say that most of his tired looks probably comes at least from a portion of his stress and fatigue being reflected in the way he looks.
