Oghren as Inquisitor. What. Just.
Okay, so I have succumb to the idea of an Inquisitor Zevran play through.
Obviously this means that I have to hit the flirt option for everyone. Other dialogue doesn't exist pretty much, but i wanted some input on other major choices.
So, inquisitor Zevran:
Mages or Templars?
yay or nay to the Wardens?
I don't think he would drink from the Well
Leliana is Divine?
what else would be important?
The Fade. He would have to choose between Hawke and a Warden he once worked for/with or just toss Stroud lol
Wow! Beautiful new Lithograph in the Bioware Store.
:|
-seriously thinking about ordering this magnificent thing-
Edit: I stared at it for a couple of minutes... Now I cannot unsee Solas' hands, Solas' disgruntled look, Varric with daggers (cue Mike Laidlaw snark), Iron Bull with two weapons, Dorian as a Knight Enchanter, Morrigans flat face and irrelevant darkspawn in the background.
It's beautiful but I would get all squinty eyed everytime I'll see it in the house, pass.

I love Inquisitor Oghren. I may have to make a male dwarf for that playthrough.
What choices would he make?
I'm sure I would enjoy Looking Glass, but I'm kind of at feels capacity. I get plenty of sad and angst from the base game. I'm happy to ride out those feels to their conclusion, even if I'll be waiting for a while for DA4.
But omg Haven Wildlife Rescue. Such cute wow. Much adorbs.
Well, Looking glass has feelz, but plenty of funny parts too. You'd like Hahinan. He's a mix of Varric and Felassan. But, perhaps wait until she's done to make sure there's a happy ending ![]()
Out of likes, but omg those last two.
I'm just picturing Solas' face after Oghren asks him that question for the 100th time. And poor Cole's utter confusion on the issue.

Yeah, that's probably a good idea
Time travel is also a sticking point for me.

I think Zev would take Alistair 99% of the time, unless it was maybe a Hawke who romanced Izzy.

I think he would choose Mages, wouldn't exile the Wardens, definitely not drink from the well. He would put Gapsard on the Throne with Briala because it would humor him to put her in charge. She's resourceful. Unless of course Celene were to charm him and give him a reason to save her. I think he would find a way to redeem everyone because he believes everyone deserves a second chance. He would annoy the hell out of Viviene and always get the last word in. Probably ask her if he can cry on her bosoms. ![]()
Crap. I need this story ![]()

BioWare, why didn't you make this game? ![]()
Okay, so, I started reading Feynite's "Dread Wolf's Heart" because people wouldn't stop talking about it and I've finally had a moment to breathe between all the essays and art projects of the mid-semester - but I'm sort of... not really liking it?
I mean, if we look at it purely from the standpoint of technique, it's pretty good, especially for fanfiction. The prose might not take home any awards, and the plot sort of meanders, especially in the beginning, but with a decent editor Feynite could easily get published.
But looking at it from a narrative standpoint and it's like - like her Solas and Lavellan are playing hot potato with the Idiot Ball. Some of it's excusable, I guess - okay, sure, Lavellan didn't immediately cotton on to Fen'Harel's identity because she didn't want to, I'll take that. And okay, yeah, Solas doesn't know how to do basic things like hunt or heal because he's spent the last few thousand years in the Fade where it didn't matter, and he probably had magic to help him before that anyway.
But then - Lavellan didn't even consider that Corypheus might've gone back, too? Because that was my immediate thought. And all the other stupid things Solas has done so far - letting her take the Orb, immediately falling prey to demons, antagonizing people who have him at a distinct disadvantage, failing to even think that Sigrun followed him back - make him seem so... well, dumb, to me. And very OOC for it. I know canon Solas screws up and underestimates people, but the way Feynite writes him you'd think he's a complete bumbling incompetent who's never managed to do anything right. And that's supposed to be the Dalish god of trickery? It's kind of hard for me to believe this guy managed to survive for millenia on his own, much less do a good enough job of it that people started revering him as divine.
Also just his personality in general seems too... snappy, I guess? He's less like Solas (Or the Solas I know, at least) and more like a less narcissistic version of Dorian. I'm not seeing much of canon Solas' thougthfulness or reserve or poetry. Feynite's just seems so pithy, so forthcoming and open. I feel like I'm reading about an OC. :|
I dunno. Does it get better later on? Because I swear if I have to read one more variation on the line "The Inquisitor outsmarted Solas and he looked offended about it" I'm throwing my laptop out the window.
I enjoy it I think, it because the writing overall has a consistent tone and voice, decent pacing, has concrete imagery, a narrative that didn't just hand everything to the protagonist and used the lore available when it was written, well.
She definitely made the characters her own, and was playful with them, which I like - the way I interpret the characters is different, too, and most likely won't work for everyone - and she used the other characters well enough that I found them believable and fun.
My biggest complaint with it is that she spent a little too much time getting deep in the weeds with Lavellan's nocorporeal form, and perhaps should have as you say given Solas a bit more strength and competence early on. Otherwise, in my opinion it's an entertaining yarn that I would recommend to other readers of light romantic fantasy.
The Fade. He would have to choose between Hawke and a Warden he once worked for/with or just toss Stroud lol
Well, in my worldstate it's between Alistair and Hawke.
My poor Hawke loses like everytime no matter who I play. And it has zero to do with the characters and everything to do with I can't do that to Alistair.
Neither can I.
My Warden would mourn him, but she's not brittle. She'd move on. But more than anything, she and Alistair deserve to be happy more than my Hawke and Anders do. My Hawke's gone so far down the slippery slope that redemption-via-death is about the best she can hope for. And Anders...well, he gets to go out in a blaze of glory.
I admit I don't see how she can actually end her story at this point. Traveling the whole world seems like it could take a lifetime or more. Now, I hope she updates the Wildlife rescue one soon
I think (I hope) it's working towards teaching the Titans to sing the song to each other, because otherwise it would be ridiculous. I guess we'll see what she has up her sleeve.
I also like the the Wildlife rescue one, it's super cute.

I'm so glad I had Stroud. It was like...oh, yeah....you, thanks for the sacrifice of your epic stache. I wouldn't be able to do it to Alistair, my Warden, or Hawke/Anders. I couldn't have her leave Anders alone out there.

I can't stand him to be honest. He's that annoying brother I look after who teases and jokes, but once I made him King he really came into his own and I was so proud. I love the Trespasser ending with Hawke and Varric rebuilding Kirkwall with Aveline and Bran there. It makes all the pain and suffering she went through worth it to come back home to Fenris, Merrill, Aveline, Carver and Varric and live as she should have lived at the end of DA2. Loghain always stays behind to complete his story in the way that I feel is fitting for his character. BUT that's just how I play it lol

I feel a little bad for Stroud on a meta-level. He and his mustache are such an afterthought ![]()
Though my bestie had Stroud, and she'd been shipping Stroud and Warden!Bethany super-hard for years. So that actually lent some weight to the decision.

Mmmm....I was thinking about it and I was starting to think that Zevran might side with the Templars. He is Andrastian after all and even calls himself devout. Though he could be joking...hard to tell sometimes with him.
Yuo're probably right about Gaspard.

Zevran always struck me as being of Izzy's school of thought on the mages and templars. It's just not something that concerns him very much. I think he's unlikely to conscript either side, but beyond that, maybe spin a bottle and pick? I feel like that's what Zev would do ![]()

Oh no....
I just thought of how awful conscripting the mages could go.
Zevran saves mages and somehow manages to bang Fiona in the process. Throw in somehow Zevran finds out about Alistair.
Fast forward to meeting up with Alistair.
Awkward but only for Alistair.

Or Zev would be too busy snarking at everyone's horrible outfits with Leliana ![]()
Zev: Oh, me? Am I supposed to be deciding the fate of Orlais? Alas, I am too distracted. What a waste of Antivan leather on those horrible masks! I don't even think it's genuine.
Josephine: Inquisitor Arainai, the Grand Duke--
Zev: Is that him? The man with the funny earlobes? He should get a healer to look at those. No wonder he isn't married.
Leliana: And his boots! Such a travesty.
Zev: You see? Our lovely Nightingale has things in hand. I'll be over here, with these delicious pear tarts...and this wonderful young lady. Charmed, my dear.
Yvette: *giggles*
Josephine: No. No, that is the absolute last straw. Commander Cullen?
Cullen: Agreed. We'll just storm the palace. We're all doomed anyway.

"Alistair, have you ever wondered what your mother was like?"
Gosh, no, I can't. I'm done. I'm gone.
Solas thread legacy: Fade butts, dom!Alistair, and this ^.
