I haven't been there. I don't have the time to venture elsewhere on BSN much, and whatever time I find, I use for Tumblr art and reading on AO3.

I'm not a terribly artistic person but there is something profoundly attractive about how they designed his jawline being angled the same way as his cheekbones and ears *drools*. Also a fan of that concentrated half-frown

I'm sort of reluctant to try more Obsidian games because I didn't really like KoTOR 2 and the reputation for terrible outcomes and bleakness....I don't know.
I feel like any of my Obsidian PCs would look at Lavellan and be like, "Oh, you're cute."

IMO BioWare's games are really about friendship and together-ness, while Obsidian's games are about karma. Thwarting it, usurping it, dealing it out. So I'll say this for Obsidian games; they are darker with bleaker themes and more messed up courses of action. But you usually wind up with the world you deserve. If you're a monster, your companions and worldstate will react accordingly. But the same goes for acting as a light in the darkness.

I still need to play POE. I have the expanion and the newest patch but the moment I thought 'right, time to put DAI to rest and get on with some new games' Trespasser's trailer goes and hits.

Ah, when you go back and reread a fic you wrote and marvel that you managed to put that together and wonder why what you've been trying to write lately feels like it's muddy and dry. 
I've been editing and organizing some of my stories and rereading the first ones I wrote taking place in the past to make sure things are consistent.
I really should venture out into the cold and pick up a few things though.

Handsome elven buttcheeks aside, Aloth really is a fascinating character. But the whole band of companions in PoE are about on level with Obsidian games. Interesting, intriguing, unique... and completely FUBAR in their own little way. I love it.

Every single one of their LIs, in pretty much every game, is supremely messed up and ten times more problematic than even the worst BioWare LI. It makes for interesting stories, but man. Wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole and a cop chaperone.

I have managed to save a bit of money, but unfortunately the studies are full-time, every day of the week, 8-16 (sometimes evenings and weekends because of clinic duty) so I haven't had the time or energy to work part-time.

Hmm, I wonder if the Inquisition/Disbanded Inquisition have a code name for their operation against Solas. I think my Lavellan would call hers "Operation Not A Lone Wolf".
Obsidian never really liked doing BioWare style romance sidequests, and it shows. Every single one of their LIs, in pretty much every game, is supremely messed up and ten times more problematic than even the worst BioWare LI.
I would totally expect new Obsidian romances to be the horrible (but not really) abusive (sort of) romances that people claim of each of them in DAI. Plenty of warning to let you know what you are getting into, but if you blaze your way through it anyway with some of them your character would end up completely broken, hurt, and betrayed by a partner that really would be using you and does not really care for you past what they can get from you. Redemption and fluffy outcomes would not be par for the course.
Certainly not what everyone would want in a fantasy game, but as far as a story goes, the grim and dark resolutions would be.. something.
But man, Aloth...

A friend of mine who volunteered at an animal shelter - going from all that she told me - seemed to spend most of her time, if not almost all of it, cuddling the animals. Occasionally she'd take the dogs on walks but that was less important that the cuddling.
Sadly it didn't pay and she's training to be a vet instead.
