Late reply is late, but I had to...

I still feel I don't fit in here :( it comes across as a romance only fan thread, I finished the Solas romance but was not impressed by it at all.

However I was deeply impressed and emotionally moved by a Solas and human Inquisitor friendship.

- I haven't played a qunari or dwarf long enough to get to any DLC's let alone finish the game so can't comment in that regard.

The Solas friendship arc is one of my two all time favourite character/companion associations-relationships with a protagonist in DAI.

I prefer Solas on friendship path as well. And I must admit, even though I like his romance, it's not in my favs. Still, I find this thread interesting and, at times, highly amusing  :P

I can say that dwarf and qunari Inquisitors on friendship path with Solas aren't that different from human in Trespasser.

I'm sort of reluctant to try more Obsidian games because I didn't really like KoTOR 2 and the reputation for terrible outcomes and bleakness....I don't know.

You could try New Vegas. It's pretty straight-forward as far as morality goes. Seriously, the worst factions in the setting don't exactly make a secret about how terrible they are, and avoiding giving them purchase is as easy as just... not dealing with them.

...Unless you're like me, and accidentally activate the Helios super-weapon because reading notes is for losers. And listening to the NPCs is for losers. And paying even the slightest attention to the quest log is for losers, too.

Cool, then you probably won't have a hard time finding a job when you're done studying. Perhaps you will need someone to cuddle the pets? I am an excellent cuddler of pets!  :D

There are so many awesome names we could have, we could be:

Swedes Obsessionally Looking After Solas

Solas' Organization of Lovingly Affectionate Swedes

Swedish Organization of Lavishing Asses on Solas

Alright, I stink at making up cool names...

Hmm, I wonder if the Inquisition/Disbanded Inquisition have a code name for their operation against Solas. I think my Lavellan would call hers "Operation Not A Lone Wolf".

Haha, those names are far better than my ghastly attempt at coming up with funny word combinations :D It took me far too long to come up even with that, I blame lack of humour coffee :P

My quizzie would go with something like FFF (Fixing Fen'Harels F***ups)   god i am terrible at this

We will conquer all the Solas haters

Catching up

Really? I always found him to be incredibly open about what was happening. I remember happily traumatising the rest of the camp site with Zervan and having eyes for nobody else, only for Wynne to tell me I was being unfair to Leliana. I suppose that's why I've always thought of her as DA's Liara, ninja romancing people left right and centre.

-.- Yes. It's utter bullcrap of course. You'd have to be pretty thick to accidentally flirt on multiple occasions with Zevran then accidentally mistake his massage (which he lets you know he learned in a whorehouse) as some innocent friend bonding. I love Zevran's romance, so I do get a bit defensive when it comes to him, but people just peeve me off sometimes!

Look at this top 5 worst video game romance list from Smosh Games.

https://www.youtube....o game romances

Number 5!? Are you kidding me!?

*Angry noise*

Leliana was a lot easier to accidentally romance (not accidentally have smexy time though) and I've heard a lot about Liara with that too, but fricking Zevran gets picked! -.-

Creeps me out, but if that's how people want to mod their game, it doesn't hurt me or my game.

I think it would hurt Dorian if he knew...

Just wanted to say that I never understood how anyone could have sex with Zevran without meaning to.   To start with he asks if you could ever have a relationship with him before taking things any further.  So if you are not interested then say so.   Since you don't get Zevran until a good way after meeting Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana you really need to have made your mind up by then, unless you are planning on playing the field, which my human noble did as he had been reading that sex manual.

<snip>

I think some people do it to see what happens then just choose to complain about it... I guess if you also completely fricking ignore all the dialogue and are just randomly choosing.  <_<

I just asked my friend how I make "professional animal cuddler" my full time job.

Because I would be so good at it. :)

Yes, hello. I would like to also apply for this job.

A friend of mine who volunteered at an animal shelter - going from all that she told me - seemed to spend most of her time, if not almost all of it, cuddling the animals. Occasionally she'd take the dogs on walks but that was less important that the cuddling.

Sadly it didn't pay and she's training to be a vet instead.

Just cuddling happy animals would be nice, but I don't think I could that sort of work IRL.  I'd worry about all the animals that weren't adopted, worry about the ones that were adopted (because what if they've got horrible people) and worry about the animals that came from abusive homes.

You could try New Vegas. It's pretty straight-forward as far as morality goes. Seriously, the worst factions in the setting don't exactly make a secret about how terrible they are, and avoiding giving them purchase is as easy as just... not dealing with them.

I second Fallout New Vegas.  There's several quests in which choising the best option doesn't result in being screwed over by the epilogue (Come Fly With Me is the one that is coming to mind, but I'm sure there's others).

I have New Vegas and I have Alpha Protocol, so either of these I can play. I have no-bug mods for New Vegas, so that could work. Fallout really loves laying it on with the bugs and I just...can't otherwise.

Pretty glad someone was working on a spider mod for DAI too.

At first I was like "why do you need a mod to fix bugs, what happened to patches???"

And then I understood.

I work (paid employment) in an animal shelter. Rescue, strays, rehoming/adoption. I've also previously worked in various similar places like different sanctuaries/charities, petshop, a ranch and a vet's etc.

It's a really rewarding job and it's the kind of job people envy you for. I love my job but the daily reality of it is that it's emotionally and physically taxing, sometimes dangerous, frequently dirty. Many people who apply when we have openings and come to interviews are under the impression they will sit around in the grass cuddling animals all day. Oh no. No no no. xD One day I cry a lot that night when I'm home from work because of a horrible loss we had that day and couldn't save. Another day a co-worker has slipped and fallen and hurt themselves on the ice, or someone nearly gets bitten. Day after, while I'm excellent at keeping stoic/polite face to members of the public, I am screaming inside and completely enraged at the way someone has treated their animal - and of course I do not, but I want nothing more than to break something out of frustration because how could someone do that? That weekend I'm literally up to my elbows in animal poop and clothes covered in waste and I'm exhausted and footsore from loads of heavy lifting.

You have to be so at peace with poop and being dirty. Like. Many animals in one place means literal heaps of poop. Poop as far as the eye can see. I have so many stories involving poop. There are so many different KINDS of poop. I didn't realize how many before I got into this line of work, LOL.

BUT the turnarounds, the rescues, the adoptions, the ones you are able to save, makes it all worthwhile.

I have a soft-spot in my heart for homeless animals. <3

My problem would be wanting to take them all home... :P

My brother and his wife are a foster family for local shelters. They had two pups that were mixes of some kind. Pit bull, st. bernard, not really sure. but one of the males was so laid back and patient as a pup that my brother manipulated visits to keep him as long as possible to finally decide if he wanted to adopt him. Named him Thor. When I saw him last summer Thor remembered me from when he was 6 months old. Of course now he weighed about 160-170 lbs and thinks he's a lap dog. I stood at the door while he shook and wined and 'talked' to me. "I'm happy to see you too handsome, but it's raining, can I come in?" He moved back to let me in then jumped up, put his paws on my shoulders so he could lick my face. Rotten pup!

When the glowy eyes fade back they are red for a moment, it's obviously intentional. What the hell?

That was Buddy. My brother and wife brought my mother a litter of kittens that had lost their mother. They were 5 days old when she got them. He was the only one to make it, and he totally thought he was winning that wrestling match. "I am kitten hear me roar!"

D&D is done :)  Thank you to everyone who played and spectated, and I'm really glad y'all had fun.  Thanks especially for being patient with me as we figured out roll20 together.

Unfortunately I have a busy month or so coming up; this was like my one free weekend day for four weeks   I can swing some weekdays/Fridays, but it seems like weekends are best due to time zone shenanigans.  Once I've worked out my schedule, I can set up another game if folks are interested.  The next game will prioritize people who haven't gotten the chance to play yet.
