I'd quite like to actually try NaNo this year, but I'm not sure what I'd write.

I've been wanting to write a Dragon Age long-fic based on an AU where Kieran was separated from his mother very early on, brought up by the Chantry, becomes a Templar, and is tasked with hunting down his mother. I've had it in my head since before I played DA:I, so I'd have to adapt it to the changes DA:I and Trespasser brings about (may end up writing it in a post-veil world with Mythal!Morrigan... oh poor Kieran, hopeless thing). Thing is, that goes over all the themes of faith, finding purpose, forgiveness/justice/redemption, etc. that I'm already doing with Fear & Trembling, except in a familial relationship rather than a romantic one.

I have a couple of Original fic ideas too. I've been wanting to write something about two siblings, the elder of which was estranged for LGBT-reasons, where the younger, on becoming an adult, sees their picture in a newspaper, and travels across the country seeking them out. However, I'm honestly... too emotionally exhausted right now to write about something like that? I'm already writing one heavy thing, don't want to overload myself.

The other option is the super fluffy Grad School AU I think I might actually try for a slightly-OOC young!Solas who is bi (because he's no longer a villain, he can't be a depraved bisexual ) and may end up with eventual SolasxDorian. Never thought I'd write that pairing ever. I've never written actual fluff before, I'm definitely a heavy feels kind of writer, so that might be worth trying.

I mean, in my head, he's possibly slept with men before as a carefree undergrad, but his only serious relationship would have been with some AU equivalent of Wisdom, who probably died tragically young from something awful like cancer so he's still a bit commitment-phobic, although for completely different reasons.

I have an Xbox 360 so unfortunately I don't get any new DLCs. I just looked up the Trespasser DLC ending if you romanced Solas. I cried. I want to curl up in a ball now.

 November is always planned to be my big writing month, but I always procrastinate and end up cranking out everything in March. 

I support the support group idea. My engine runs on guilt and embarrassment as much as it does cookies, so it'll probably help.

This is usually my struggle. I can say, on the other side of two fluff pieces, it is possible. It's hard, because my specialty is also feels and angst. It's so laughably difficult sometimes to write fluffy things.
