I really don't know where I stand on that fic.... Conflicting feelings about it I guess. The first chapter made me cry, the latest made me gag, and the chapter

where Solas speaks with her again was perfect. I am genuinely curious now whether or not he let her die or intentionally made it so she would. There's some nice mystery involved, but I'm not a huge fan of the concept of her being some uber special god magnet. I like the writer's interpretation of Dirthamen and Falon'Din though, their relationship is really interesting and I think I'm more intrigued by it than I am Dirthamen and Lavellan's.

Aside from that...it's a gritty, crack, practically sacrilegious, non-canon Pantheon AU, absolutely hilarious if you understand this, but mind the tags, it's not for everyone! I love it, but I'm kind of secretly "dark and twisty" that way....

Oh, that part...It hasn't been revealed and I don't know if it will be...to make the plot consistent, there had to be a reason he "couldn't" rescue her, otherwise the story would be very different, and Lavellan would have had no reason for the conflicted or negative view of Solas, IMO. The only reason for "the other stuff" was the result of drinking from the well in the context of this story.

I don't often see male Inquisitors that I find exceptionally attractive.

I like his look too! I don't know if it was intentional, but he looks mixed to me

He's also very young looking too. What age were you going for?

And what is this handsome devil's name and class and future heart throb?

 

I think I feel the same. It is well written, but a bit it's a bit darker than I'm used to/comfortable with?

I actually don't mind darker, more disturbing fics. I'm not really fond of characters that are written to be a lot different than they are (not a big fan of OOC writing), but I think the writer sticks to the characters pretty well and the Evanuris are so obscure you can do what you want with them.

Hmm, I guess my biggest gripe is making Lavellan more **specials** than she is. I prefer the everyman over the chosen one and I don't like when protagonists have people falling for them left and right and no real viable reason is ever given other than **specials**. Also, the falling in love both by Lavellan and the Evanuris happens too quickly for my tastes, but again, that can be chalked up to **specials**.

I'm critizsing it now, but there's a lot I like about the fic and I am going to keep reading it.

Ok guys I need help with fanfiction. Bad. 

 

For a while now I've been wanting to write a quality "modern girl in Thedas" fic. This, of course, it pretty hard to do, considering all the Mary Sue stigma and lack of probability or just general sense of the whole concept. Now that Trespasser is out, I desperately want to incorporate Solas into the fic, as well as his salvation and basically an all-around ending that is satisfactory to everything we know now (which is a hella lot and way too little at the same time). 

 

I also want the main character/modern-world insert to have a believable (I stress the word believable) romance with Solas. That alone just adds +1,000,000 difficulty points. 

 

What I got so far, which also happens to change by the day and is never constant: 

 

• main character is pulled into Thedas as Solas begins collapsing the veil, which takes a while, and isn't just instant (I mean it's basically reshaping the fundamentals of the entire world so uh yea takes time; oh and btw she becomes an elf)
• Is taken in by Clan Lavellan, in which the elves tell her that the Inquisitor Lavellan died 17 years ago, and ever since then Thedas has been in an apocalypse war with the ancient elves with no leader to help them fight back (also, with no real clue about what's going on since the specifics of Solas and what his plans are died with the inquisitor)
• main character is like "well, **** son. Can I just go home please? (pretty please?) but also like, "oh my god solas you're an a*s") 
• I don't want to give away too much, but basically time rift appears like "poof here I am to make everything dramatically complicated" and whisks main character into the past and into the time of ancient Arlathan just as the "world is burning in the raw chaos" of the veil becoming completely torn down 
• ok now here is where I'm kinda wobbly. what time period should she end up in? Should the fic focus mostly on innocent/young!solas or fen'harel!solas? Where should she wake up in?

 

Basically, I know the ending of the fic (which I won't say because *too spoilery*) as well as the major plot twist , but I just don't know how to get there ..... (lol sad I know).

 

What would you guys like to read in the context of what I've said? What do you think would be most interesting as well as possessing of the most usable and applicable content?

 

I just need ideas.

p.s. if anybody wants me to divulge more of the spoilery aspects (which are extremely important to the plot and would probably help with ideas) pm me. I don't want to post everything on the thread ._.

This character's name is L and he's going to romance Dorian, although I AM wondering if I should go for the Cullen bi mod or somehow make him romance Solas.

Personally (as in obviously this is just my opinion and you enjoy the game how you wish) I find changing a character's sexuality a bit iffy. I mean I sort of understand because the LGBT community has such a lack of options when it comes to romance in comparison to hetero options... but at that the same time. Neh, I don't know, changing a character's sexuality so you can enjoy them in a certain way is... neh.

Conflicting feelings are very prevalent in me tonight.

Honestly, it's not so much about the romance as it is about my how my character's animations would look in those scenes. I am expecting a lot of laughter from the awkward animations.

It sounds like a really cool concept, 'cause I love that kind of stuff!!! I wish I could help...but I probably can't because I know nothing about writing fiction, but I'm kinda working on it...soon...I hope...?!?
