True, but I do lean towards June being about weapon making simply because of two sources that are better than the Dalish stories. Those being that song of Sylaise and the rant by Geldaraun(sp?). They talk about June's craft and fire, maybe referencing a forge.

Just makes me wonder if June was almost more of a spirit of Valor turned demon of War situation. If Valor spirits do indeed chill all day making cool weapons.

Totally theory and thought though.

Or he could have had help from the spirit of Valor...

I went through about 6 playthroughs before finally getting my girl (my icon) where I like her as she is on PC (no mods as well!), and I went back to my PS4 game to copy the design over with BE, when I loaded it up I was liek "WHAT THE FRIG IS THAT?! Why did I ever think that was pretty?!" xD

I've just been reading that Avoid Writing a Mary Sue tvtrope article, and there's a point I disagree with and want to discuss with you guys:

 

 

Now, if I'm reading this correctly that line expects fanfic writers to go into detail when explaining a canon character if they intend to do the same with an original character, but I disagree with that.

 

I've read fanfics where they do this and I find myself losing patience reading descriptions on characters I already know what they look like and I'm far more likely to stop reading - especially if they go into detail like what clothes they wear (Solas' turtleneck for example*; I know what it looks like, stop describing it and get on with the story). In my opinion unless there is a key difference in a canon characters appearance that differs from canon (concept!Solas) then physical descriptions for canon characters should be ignored.

 

That said, I think OC's need detailed descriptions, at least (and usually most) at the start (which this quote argues against) when you first meet them so the readers know what they look like. Being vague about appearances can work for certain characters (ME/DAI protagonists), but a big part of making an OC fit in the world where that's not needs the description.

I agree with you about describing characters that the readers will already know, but I do think writers tend to over describe their OC. I see this problem a lot in YA romance fiction too. 

"My chocolate brown eyes reflected back at me as I stared into the mirror. I tucked a loose strand of my dark, fly-away hair behind my ear." Goes on to describe body type and then how she thinks she's plain looking. Maybe she'll add the shape of her lips or some such nonsense to it.

This is a personal pet peeve of mine. I don't know or care enough about this character to want to hear her monologue as she ogles her appearance. Let the details slip out occasionally through your writing and for goodness sake, use the other characters! Have someone else remark on your hair or eye color. Maybe it's a friend remarking on your frizzy mess. Or you're describing your dark haired, brown eyed sister and saying you look like her.

I see this more with first person POVs because I think authors have trouble thinking up ways to describe their characters right away, but there's an issue right there. You don't need to describe exactly what your character looks like in the first chapter! Let the details bleed out during the course of several chapters. If s/he has a prominent feature let that feature be known right away, but save the rest for later.

Guys, I have frightened myself. I'm sitting here, in my basement, completely alone. All the lights are off save the one hanging above me, and it has just started to flicker. This is unusual, since the lights were replaced this past year and I rarely use them. To top things off, whilst typing out some fan fiction, I saw some sort of movement on my screen. It could have been a reflection. I turned around, and of course there's nothing at all. And the lights continue to flicker.

I have lured my pup over here to keep me company. I will try to ignore the little bumps and scratchy sounds I hear... but they are all the more disturbing now I know where the dog is.

I'm asking this in all sense of sincerely wanting to represent Krem properly in writing. Both in regards to what people would see as right and what Krem would want.

Yeah he doubtless had agents even during his time in the Inquisition, including his own spies within it as well. I don't have specifics regarding events at the moment tho sorry.

 

I think Charter is his though, for one thing.

Personally (as in obviously this is just my opinion and you enjoy the game how you wish) I find changing a character's sexuality a bit iffy. I mean I sort of understand because the LGBT community has such a lack of options when it comes to romance in comparison to hetero options... but at that the same time. Neh, I don't know, changing a character's sexuality so you can enjoy them in a certain way is... neh.

Conflicting feelings are very prevalent in me tonight.
