That said, I'll be sad that some of our regulars will most likely drop out of the thread. Totally understandable but I'll miss them

On that note, I wonder if Allan will open up the romance thread again soon? I know it was a tad toxic at times, but it might be better to have a general romance topic again since we finally have more info. Dunno.

The whole baby thing was literally a random as hell theory that someone just threw out and I'm seeing people calling Solas and the romance disgusting for it on Tumblr.

Talk about insufferable.

I'm done with drama, all I want to be is happy Raina can romance her elf Mage bf, and I do hope that there is dialogue to have little babies together post game. Now all I can think of is all the companions cooing over the baby in their own ways.

Like Bull and Sera always getting into trouble with the kid, having him be a part of their pranks. Then Blackwall trying to teach them to be a warrior and to be noble. Vivienne and Dorian would totally dress them up super stylishly and make them the envy of all babies. Cole would teach him to be a good person and always do right, while of course Solas stresses the importance of an open mind and to always think for themselves. And aargh, Solas kissing her belly and being gosh darn adorable. //squeeze into his hands

I'm very curious about these story reasons for his being an elven ladies only romance. If it has anything to with childbearing, well, Solas can eff right off, no matter how Nimoy-velous he is.

I understand people are upset, but I kinda like that he's only available to elf ladies.
Though it's not really a huge deal, I was interested in romancing Dorian with a female PC. I don't really play as guys but if Dorian interests me enough I'll create the right PC for him.

I like the variety in race/gender gating. It's interesting.

It's unfortunate that it's unbalanced, and therefore some people feel sidelined but I like this direction of gender/race being taken into account.

And it encourages people to try diff gender/race combos

It's not terribly interesting when you're gay. It'd be one thing if there was a situation or two in history where it was unequal in our favor, but that doesn't exist, and likely won't. It's interesting when just about every gay that allows you to play your gender of choice also caters to your sexuality: it's not that I want every option to be bisexual, I'm just unhappy about what I assume will be inequality in choices. I'm also a little bit less flexible than most people: I get enough heterosexuality in almost every other form of media I enjoy that I tend to actively avoid it in RPGs, so I won't probably ever end up romancing Solas.

 

Maybe Viv will be another lesbian, or Blackwall will be gay and I'll bite my tongue and pretend I never posted this, but I was pretty interested in romancing Solas so I'm feeling like a victim today. And I'll probably be whiny if I post on the forums for the next little bit.

Wow, the gender I don't typically play coupled with the race I've vowed not to play.

I'm sorry he's one of the race-gated options, though it'll be interesting to see what these major story reasons are. Hopefully the ladies here already wanted to play an elf (or won't mind doing so).

I'm not a big fan of playing male characters, straight or not, but I already decided a while back that I was gonna make a male character because...why not? I can't wait to be fabulous with my boo, Dorian.

 

Some people may try out Solas...Some might not and that's okay. There's always the possibility that someone might like him just as there is a chance they might decide they don't like him.  But no matter what, we will always have Youtube.

I don't like playing female elf , and I'm going to play a male Dalish so....no Solas romance for me.

Well unless his romance is the best thing ever.(afterall I started playing dudes because I wanted to romance Morrigan , and now I actually really like playing male pc)

 You are not a weirdo I'm not grossed out about it either, if Solas wants babies my Arya will be fine with that if not she will take him by the ear.....no I'm kidding it will take time but she will be ok with it. XD

I'm not adverse to the idea either, but I'm just really surprised people jumped on the "It must be because babies!!!" so quickly. I didn't even think about it until others brought it up first xD I still really don't think that's why though.
