hehe.. my mom likes to play with the "Microsoft" scammers too. You got lucky, they still keep calling us.

I have an extremely German first name and a very American last name (maiden name). No one says my first name right, no one..so now I go by my middle name. It's just easier this way.

I'm replaying Crestwood and Solas said something that made me tilt my head a bit.

"I can feel the weakness in the veil even above ground."

We just found Old Crestwood. So he normally senses its weakness...below ground?

I think he said that because the rift was in a cave underground in Crestwood.

See, I am just not capable of that sort of thing. I'm a) a terrible liar, so I hardly ever even try 2) feel really bad about anything like that and 3) Not that snappy/clever.

Boyfriend once kept the bank on the phone by pranking them, pretending he didn't speak English since his name is in Hebrew, and asking for an Aramaic interpreter. He confused the hell out of everyone and they didn't realize what he was asking and they kept transfering him trying to get him an interpreter. And he told me about it later. He's a real prankster and a witty sort.

Yeah, we had to go down a ladder, continue through a continuously sloping cave system, before further descending into part of the Deep Roads and the dwarven outpost before we could get to the Rift.

Actually, now I think about it, doesn't that make it the only Rift in the entire game that we see located within the Deep Roads?

I do better over the phone than I do in person. Trust me, the whole time I had that  guy on the phone like that I had the most ridiculous grin on my face.

I've learned to filter a lot of what I think for responses when dealing with people face to face. As a general rule I don't say the exact first thing that comes to my mind unless the possibility of making someone mad doesn't bother me. IRL I'm the quiet person to the side that always sits for about 20seconds before answering anything.

Because trust me.......about 97% of what I think needs to be censored. It's not ready to manifest into reality.

True. That didn't occur to me. But the rift is in the lake as well, right? You can see it above ground when you arrive and Cole says the water makes the song sound different. And it even ends up in the fade. Hmm~ Me trying to dissect everything he says now. I should stop doing that. lol

No, it's interesting!

The song eh, I wonder if he's talking about lyrium or the fade. So many songs.

So many songs or just one song though? Like Cole says in the romance breakup banter: "He hurts, an old pain from before when everything sang the same."

When everything was in tune with the fade? Now there's red lyrium and other things that twist it into a different song?

I also love how the spirit in Crestwood is all "I am Imperial. I am Command."

And Solas kinda mutters "Or Pomposity." like he doesn't want to be overheard by it. Makes me laugh every time.

To me it seems that pretty much everything could have a song - and if not everything, then certainly things that are living. I keep Cole and Solas (and some books or other people) bring it up quite a few times.

.... Which is why I think we may yet see Dumat - he is a god of Silence after all, so he may yet oppose all living things, or at least things that 'make too much noise' :P

Yep, I guess I really am a cinnamon roll IRL.  From my curious, yet responsible and prank-less childhood to this being foreign to me and feeling bad if I even tried.

TORCHWOOD: IANTO JONES WILL RETURN IN OCTOBER
16 July 2015
Categories: Torchwood, Doctor Who - The New Series, General Big Finish News
Big Finish are delighted to announce that fan-favourite actor Gareth David-Lloyd will star as Ianto Jones for the second release in our new series of Torchwood Audio Dramas.

Gareth appeared throughout the first three series of the popular BBC show created by Russell T Davies. A mild-mannered administrator for the Torchwood team, Ianto helped defend Cardiff from the horrors of the rift, and aided the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) in a battle against the Daleks in two episodes of Doctor Who.

Ianto made his final TV appearance in the 2009 mini-series Children of Earth, but his popularity and legacy has stood the test of time, with a special commemorative memorial for the character erected in Cardiff Bay.

And now I just picture an old, cranky dragon with a beard and waving a cane yelling for people to turn down their music.

(I've been sick. Don't pay me any attention.)

The lore interests me like crazy but I really don't have the brain power for it. lol I'm just glad they're digging into it more now. I'd really like for it to end up that we have to save the Titans. They keep being hinted at as sad, and with DA being a story about the world and Titan's being the 'earth/ground'...it would probably be very bad if they died.

And there's the song in Trespasser about 'the Titan's will rise'. I've never been big on Dwarven lore but I do want to know more about that aspect of it and why Mythal struck them down. And a cutscene or two on that fight because that would be awesome. At some point I became a Mythal fangirl. I just wanna see her beat up everything honestly.

With all of the lore and details they have been filling in over DAI and its DLC, the connections ot the past, and even filling in holes like deadLeliana, it's exciting to me to think of the parts we don't even know yet.

So this new post-Trespasser chapter finally came together. I'm not sure I love it or anything, but it was nice to finish something for the first time in about two weeks or so. Here we have Nirwen's brother, Rodan, who was last seen in my last finished fic...at three days old. He's just about 17 here. Clearly, their relationship has changed a little bit in between. :D

Also selfpromo, the second part of my yesterday's chapter is up on ao3 now. Edited it after kicking my husband from my PC who started to love his Hawke too much, so it might have some mishaps as I was a bit in a hurry when checking for mistakes, begore he took the PC back. <_< (http://archiveofouro...apters/11612791)

Okay, found that kinda-related post, here's what I got:

Someone asked me,

did your inquisitor drink from the well? do you think it will have consequences in da4?

I replied:

"I hope that choice does have consequences for both outcomes (though more for drinking than not-drinking, because resources are a thing and I agree with the devs when they relate how they prefer to make content for choices than not-choices if that makes sense), and I hope these consequences are on a bit larger scale than what we saw in Trespasser and basegame (although those were cool touches). It feels like a pretty major decision. Given the nature of having to write a story across multiple games and having to account for varying worldstates though.. as we’ve seen some of the biggest-feeling choices in the series so far don’t have super-key consequences. Who rules Ferelden? Does Kieran exist or not? Things were different yes but nothing world-shattering came of it. I’m not complaining about that mind, I totally get why it’s difficult, and I was content with the way those choices I made were reflected in my game-world. So as to the scale and scope of the future consequences.. I don’t know. The Well choice felt like a choice on par with the OGB choice in terms of “oh my god wtf”/potential for future impact, for me anyway.

Now as for the specifics of what those consequences might be.. I just mentioned here how I think Flemythal isn’t truly dead and will return as a player in some form in DA4. I feel like, her story isn’t complete like, she has this ominous agenda of her own and she talks of betrayal and the need for vengeance, and I want to see her pursue that. I’ve theorized in other posts that she can’t get the vengeance she wants on the Evanuris (kicking their butts and maybe killing them) for murdering her if they're’re locked away, so maybe she wants Solas to succeed in releasing them for that reason - hell, maybe Solas “I had plans [to deal with them on releasing them]” involved the powerful mother-goddess of vengeance kicking their butts like she wants to do and taking care of them that way. So I mean, if she isn’t dead, there might be consequences again in the form of Well-Inquisitors having to dance to her tune a bit as it suits her whims and plans in DA4. If she passed her godhood to Morrigan like I discussed in that post I linked, maybe it’s Morrigan-Mythal’s tune you’d have to dance to. I don’t think Well-Inquisitors would be bound to Solas as I think he took her power not soul. And in a game that seems to be shaping up to be about opposing Solas, how do you account for the so-far-main Solas-opposition person [Wellquisitor] trying to oppose him while simultaneously being under his control when he wills it? A new protagonist would help with that of course. But I just think Solas is already powerful (see: freezing people to statues with a blink), intelligent and well-equipped (agents, Eluvians) enough as an antagonist as it is.

Say Flemythal truly is dead, and Solas did indeed only take her power not soul, and Morrigan is just Morrigan with no extra sparks or passengers - well hey that’s actually pretty handy from a writing perspective, then we don’t have to account for Inquisitor and Inquisitor-who-is-bound-to-ancient-being in the next game, cause that ancient being is no more.

Now the knowledge the Well imparts, well that’s interesting. Regardless of who possesses it (Quiz or Morrigan), I think it will be a helpful tool in trying to oppose Solas going forward, like trying to decipher the specifics of his plans/activities, a good lot of which I think will be elven and/or magical in nature (lol way to state the obvious MJ). In this regard, I can see Morrigan resurfacing (even if she didn’t drink) - Morrigan has her own agenda, including a desire to preserve magics/ancient mysteries and knowledge and power from the past yes, but I don’t think that desire runs concurrent with Solas’ plans for restoration, since Solas’ plans seem to involve a potential for massive destruction of the modern world. The modern world is the one Morrigan inhabits, and potentially the one she and the people she loves inhabits (potentially Kieran, whom she’s really protective of; potentially romancedWarden as well) - and there’s no place, from the sounds of things (maybe) for non-elves or even non-ancient-elves in Solas’ proposed new world. Morrigan is human (obviously) and she’s about self-preservation. “Power has meaning” but also “survival has meaning”. If you don’t survive to make use of or continue to protect the things you’ve preserved then what’s the point?

[bit about my inquisitor specifically snipped out]"

Sorry I'm just relating a semi-related rambly post from elsewhere. I'd participate more actively in the question/discussion but I'm so beat x'D

I think letting Morrigan drink is a choice not a non choice.

I do think the drinker of the well has a specific fate in store for them. I didn't drink because Solas looked soooo stressed at the well. It totally stopped me dead because I trusted him as a player and I played my Quiz very trusting of him because - romance. Looking back I don't know that I would do it differently. I don't trust that crazy Well! The name alone.... I'm planning another play through next year so maybe I'll do a Well-Quiz. At this point I'm banking on Morrigan providing the necessary advantage or disadvantage from drinking.

He did?  I considered him usual disagreeing self, and he was totally mad at Morrigan when she suggested to be the one to drink. My canon drunk, my non canon did not. I prefer the drinking version although admittedly I do fear what it might bring. She did it thinking it's for her people, for Elves. Might not think it anymore but it's too late now for her to change her mind,  is it? ;)
