If most characters were gay, Thedas would have a serious population problem. So...no.
Let's say that exclusively your companions happened to be almost all gay, that was the intent of my original question.

Ehh many Thedas societies aren't anti-gay, more accurately consider it something that should be kept off to the side and not get in the way of raising a family. For example almost all Elves, Dwarves and Human nobles are pressured to have heterosexual relationships, and Qunari don't have romantic relationships. For Tal'Vasoth and Human Commoners it's not really covered.
Wait the Solas LI thing was official? I thought it was a false alarm?

Erm...no.
Most theodosian socities aren't heteronormative.
No one is pressured to have heterosexual relationships except for marriage for reproduction in ceirtan settings.
Having homosexual relationships in considered equal to heterosexual relationships.
Infinite, you didn't ask me the question but I fall in love with a story. That is why I love Bioware games so much. I can tell you that even if 100% the companions were gay (I am a straight female, btw) I would still play it as long as the story was well done and the characters were interesting people.
It's funny, yesterday I was reading posts about Solas from other areas of the internet and they basically boiled down to "Eww...It's bald. Me no rikey!" So I'm surprised at the upset...or is it just a reminder that no companion is exempt from this exclusivity?

i never kinda understood that about the fantasy genre. its fantasty so why not make kids with magic? like that game (the game is kinda **** but my point remains valid) conception 2

Nope, Mark made another tweet to clarify what he let slip earlier.
So Solas is a LI?
So Solas is a LI?
yes female elf only
If they need a balance, the last one could be Human&Male only, and Black Wall isn't like that kinda guy I think.
Viv then.
So Solas is a LI?
Yes, Solas is romancable by female elves only. Mark had assumes a blog Mike was writing had already been posted. It hadn't.
(I take too long to type!)
So Solas is a LI?
straight female elf only romance.
yes female elf only
You know, I kind of wonder if this is part of the reason the Elf Inquisitor is Dalish instead of a City Elf.
I find it interesting that people are jumping on the gender gate being story driven when it could be the elven part. I suddenly have a strong feeling it might be connected to how in Masked Empire, the elves could travel the Eluvian with no issues but humans could not. The gender part could be because his character is simply straight. I mean, I'm kind of glad that people don't accuse me of being straight to only have babies
Romance's ending right there (Morrigan 2.0): Travel through Eluvian with Solas. ![]()
Really though, I'm getting more and more suspicious that he's actually an ancient elf after that quote about "survivors of Arlathan". And since Dalish are interested in preserving and discovering their history, a Dalish and Solas would have that interest in common.

I think the Dalish only is more story- and limited resource-related than romance-centric.
Edit:
@Tamyn your new avatar is ****** gorgeous, I can't handle it ![]()

Another thing towards that is how he can apparently "sense" the nearby presence of Elven artifacts, based on that series of gameplay tweets Patrick had.

Cass could be that person and Blackwall is available to all.
Hoping it's Viv though. I want more options ![]()

I figured it was, at least in part, that if you wanted to play an elf mage in Origins, you had to start in the Circle. So this time they're going for the other option. *Shrugs* I could be wrong.
Not as many as you might hope there were, few complainers just kept spamming the same messages and threads but there wasn't that much of a shock or tears. Hot lesbian chicks are quite popular among dudes. Heck, that was the only reason they created femShepard sometimes
The same people also left homophobic comments about Dorian and I doubt because they wanted to romance him
Some folk just are homophobic in general
There was no shortage of assholes in the Sera thread (or other threads that also popped up). You just can't see it because their posts and sometimes accounts were eradicated from existence.
This isn't a relevant tangent though and should stop.
Oh, poor Allan. You can make it! ![]()
Has the Solas thread ever jumped this much? Gosh!

I agree, I was just wondering if it was at all an influencing factor in choosing Dalish over City Elf, especially following the events in TME (in which I'd argue that the Briala + CE story was more intriguing). Plus, my favourite Origin in DA:O was the CE and I guess I'm still a little salty about their exclusion in DA:I.
Can I just say, I love hanging out here! You guys are all great, despite....the drama we get sometimes. I check here everyday and think of you guys as my bald elf loving buddies.
now...to draw cute things or to not...hmmmmmm

Yessssss. I have no idea what would enable one to have that ability. Was that talked about in a novel?
