Bwahaha I just accidentally clicked on that battle dragon thread because i meant to click this one (since Sable had the last post in both) and I enter and see something about a giant scorpion bursting out of the ground and impaling something with a steel tail and wondered when THIS conversation got even weirder while I was over in my Twitter tab for a moment.

Solas was the worst.  The absolute bloody worst.  On top of their midterm, he refused to move the deadline for their journal paper discussion.  Sera let out a loud, huffy sigh, glaring at her laptop as though it had done her some personal wrong.

 

Dagna didn't even look over from the tangle of wires behind the TV.  "He didn't say what topic the journal paper had to cover," she pointed out.  "Pick something you like.  Bees!"

 

Sera scoffed.  "Don't think stuffy old elves had bees.  They probably pissed honey and magic.  Their dicks were probably ten feet long or...something..."

 

She trailed off.  Sometimes, inspiration took work.  Sometimes, it struck like lightning.

 

Ten minutes later, she had it.  "A Review of Evidence For Circumcision In Pre-Veil Societies."

Solas learned three things when the first homework assignments started trickling in.  First, spittakes really happened.  Second, it took three paper towels and ten minutes to clean coffee off one's screen.

 

Third, Sera knew something about Elvhenan that he did not.

Complaining? This is the moment he realizes he may have misjudged her, and that she has some real talent for this field that must be cultivated. He encourages her to go to grad school. She's reluctant at first, but thinks of all the free food and decides to give it a try. She ends up doing some really ground breaking research, fully characterizing elven genitalia throughout history. She wins many awards and her work has lasting impact.

"This is important!" said Solas emphatically.  "I don't know anything about the cultural significance and evidence of circumcision.  I certainly do not wish to be shown up by an undergraduate.  Especially that one."

 

"I think," said Dorian, "you're overthinking this.  How many undergrads will make it past the first sentence?"

 

"But I don't know any--"

 

"Here," said Dorian, shoving a heavy binder into Solas's hands.

 

He opened it up and frowned.  "Dorian, this is...pornography."

 

"You wanted to learn about elf dicks."

 

"You actually purchased pornography?" asked Solas, flipping through the first few pages.  "Why in Thedas would you spend money on--"

 

The door slammed shut in his face.
