SAD is weird. I used to never get it when I lived in Minnesota. Then I moved to California, and after that the winter I tried to spend in London was miserable. I love London as a city, but man. Its weather. That was the coldest winter they'd had in like 50 years, and I did not handle it well.

I can imagine that the difference between California and London was huge. And I also imagine it to be great living in California, since I despise winter because of the cold and the snow and everything. Except for Christmas.^^
I've been to Dublin a few years ago for Christmas and they experienced snow for the first time in a looong time so the airport was closed all day. We had to spend about eight hours at our airport, waiting if the plane would be able to take off or not. When we finally were on the plane we were so happy. After one hour we had to stop in London because Dublin was closed again. We then had to spend the whole night at London Stansted and were given a voucher that we could use to either get something to drink or something to eat. Not both. Our flight continued the next morning at about 7.30. We were really pissed and so tired, so our first day in Dublin constisted of getting to the hotel asap and sleep. The hotel was great, because of Christmas they had upgraded us to a deluxe room without having to pay - that was nice! ^^
Speaking of Seasonal Affective Disorder (I have a mild problem with this too), vitamin D and a daylight alarm clock helps as well. Vitamin D helps with the fatigue and depression. Daylight alarm helps you wake up more naturally and it helps me feel more refreshed in the mornings.
I've been looking for such an alarm clock but have not found one with good reviews yet. I'm wondering if this works if only one person uses it? Or is everyone in the room wakened by it?
About two winters ago, we had not only a ton of snow, ice, and terribly cold weather, but I had about five months of medical appointments from December onward following a few days in the hospital and between the various situations I had to deal with, it was a big struggle that winter. I'm always somewhat sensitive to it, especially with the lack of sun and daylight (I should look into a lamp) but that's when it really got to me with the added vulnerable state.

You're serving as a reminder that I really should get my vitamin D levels checked again. I'm just putting every health thing off right now for money reasons. But I had a really severe deficiency that coincided with terrible winter above. I think deficient is 50? and mine was 9.
Oh that sounds really awful. I can relate to that, I'm having problems every winter and really should do s.th. about that. Usually I tend to get stuffed with chocolate but that's not too healthy, so I don't want to do that anymore. I think I'll have my vitamin D levels checked, too. Since we had such an extreme summer the prognosis for winter is equally extreme. Ugh, I can't stand the cold and the darkness.
A different topic: I wanted to take some screenshots in DAI today using the Cinematic Tools, but it seems to have stopped working, it just says "waiting for GUI" (or s.th. like that) and nothing ever happens. Does anyone have a similar problem? (I think it stopped working since the latest Trespasser patch.)
