Haha, maybe that's why Abelas didn't call him by name.

Hmmmm... speaks the language like a native, should I know this guy?

*holds up a portfolio of mosaics, squinting at each one*

I feel like I should know this guy...

*mosaics clack against each other as he flicks through them*

Dammit, why did they all decide to shave their heads before mosaic day... stupid pranking evanu- wait, is it this one? No, that one's Andruil.

*clack clack clack*

LMAO I'm laughing so hard and picturing it. It needs to become artwork now!

Hey guys I was just chatting with Solas and he mentioned Flemeth's hut and how people feared she'd return. I wonder if he sensed Mythal or had no idea he had found her home during that time? I've never asked him about all his journey's before so I was amused when he brought it up.

Hey guys, a simple poll about the theory from Cole's Trespasser dialogue that Solas had Mythlal's vallaslin at one point, and when he removed it (obviously, we don't know if it's even true, much less when, so totally just headcanon territory):

Spoiler

I've been strongly believing this theory since its release. He was most likely bound to her or felt bound to her, but was against the idea of slave markings and removed them, but one tiny scar remained. I actually tested this by placing Mythal's markings on him (PS) and where that scar is would be part of it.

It is weird being the only one present for whom Zev does nothing in that way. But I can offer feels and character opinions. :D

I may have also spent a little too much time thinking about lady smut in the past 24h.

You're not the only one.  I like Zevran as a character but he really doesn't appeal to me in that way either.

Zev was my only romance in DAO. It went from what you think is just smut to something deep and very romantic. He fell in love and yet love was foreign to him, and it scared him at one point and he tried to run away from it, until you confront him and convince him to propose to you and he vows to be by your side forever. I had my doubts at first and on first impressions I did not want to romance him, but I gave it a shot.

Sorry I didn't post art today. I had a migraine again.

tumblr_n6925fTu171tbnfp5o1_500.gif

I hope you're feeling better soon. I hate how they control my life sometimes.

It's migraine season for me too. So far this month hasn't been bad, but winter weather is coming. I'm like a human barometer. Changes in barometric pressure seem to trigger the most migraines.

I still get headachy with the pressure changes but luckily, my migraines disappeared. I dread finding out if my theory that my birth control is what stopped them is true someday.

I have run out of one of my favorite teas, and it seems it might be seasonal (spring).

Curse the agents of Fen'Harel that have messed with my tea supply.

Tea is a wonderful idea :)  I can calm down and stop being irritated with The Walking Dead. I'm late to the party on that one, but it was on sale on Steam a few weekends ago, and I waffle between liking it and wanting to strangle everyone in it for being so dense.

I would say before she was murdered. He had made the ranks of one of the creators. I doubt that happened because he locked the gods away, rather it happened before then. I wish we had a better timeline of events so there is less speculation, but then again the speculations is what keeps us coming back for more.

I think that he earned his place by rebelling against slavery. He broke away from Mythal, but he still had/has a great deal of respect for her. I think this is true for all of them. He may not like them, but he would rather see them locked up forever than killed.

I don't know if that is true.. Didn't he only lock them away because he couldn't kill them? They are too hard to kill? Correct me if I'm wrong, ofc.

I've been reading through corseque's compilation of all the Solas dialogue mined from Trespasser, for the past half hour, trying to wring some ideas out for fic purposes. It's not in order, but you can mostly figure it out if you've played through all of the way. I just love seeing all the different reactions in one place.

Solas, my friend, sometimes it's just easier to tie yourself up and call it a day.

He mentions that an eternity of torment is the least of what they deserved for killing Mythal.  So, I suspect part of the reason Solas locked them up, instead of killing them, was that he wanted them to suffer.

He also mentions that they're very hard to kill.  It's possible that if he had killed them, they'd end up wisps until they found a like minded host.

Actually, Inquisitor asks Solas why he hadn't killed them, and he responds that 'the first of his kind' are not so easy to kill. That suggests that he couldn't really killed them - heck, seven of them had difficulty entirely killing Mythal after all; some parts of her have found way into even the Veiled world.

Yeah... but he does mention an eternity of torment is almost too good for them.  So, a little of both, probably.  (But I sleepy, so I might be mis-remembering)

I agree that he probably couldn't have killed them, but I also believe he wanted to make them suffer more.  It shows just how angry Solas was about Mythal's murder.

If you execute someone for a crime... they're done paying for it the moment they stop breathing.  Lock them in a prison?   And if that prison is made to be especially horrible?   They pay as until you feel like unlocking the cage.    It just shows how unforgivable he believed Mythal's murder to be.

I always interpreted that comment (Along with the little chuckle he gives with it) as more self-deprecating than anything. I mean - he's killed Mythal now, too. And he certainly believes his path is torturous enough that discourages his friends from helping, and specifically tells Cole that he wouldn't wish his fate on an enemy. (An enemy, so, that kinda undermines any penchant he might have for over-the-top vengeance. Not to mention his punishment for the mages was to simply kill them. Solas doesn't seem to like drawn-out and unnecessary pain.) So, I always figured it was less "They deserve an eternity of torment" and more "Hey, guess what's in store for me?"

Thanks to another player, I just noticed there is a city named Solas in Tevinter, you can see it close to the dagger on the map at the end of Trespasser...

Spoiler

This is the first time I hear of this city, do we know anything about it and how it may be related to our dear wolf ?

Well, Solas means Pride. I really quite wouldn't put too much weight on it.

To me, personally, it's like asking if we, by any chance, invoke Abelas to materialize next to us, whenever we say I am sorry in elvhen. ;)

Okay so...

Solas: I sought to set my people free from the slavery to would-be Gods. I broke the chains of all who wished to join me. The false gods called me Fen' Harel, and when they finally went too far, I formed the Veil and banished them forever. Thus I freed the elven people and, in so doing, destroyed their world.

And

Inquisitor: You banished the false gods----you didn't kill them?
Solas: You met Mythal, did you not? The first of my people do not die so easily. The Evanuris are banished forever, paying the ultimate price for their misdeeds.

BUT THEN:

Inquisitor: If you destroyed the Veil, wouldn't the false gods be freed?
Solas: I had plans.

If they're "banished forever" then how can they be freed?

Edit: Or does he mean "what I thought was forever." Because now the world got messed up from the Veil so he has to un-banish them?

banished forever doesn't indicate they were crippled or chained to a wall or anything else. It means they are prevented from appearing where they'd like to appear, i.e. outside of the Veil, presumably somewhere within the Fade, in some theories even within the Black City.

When you banish someone, you send them away, without the possibility / ability to return (because whatever repercussions would await them should they try to return, or something physically prevents them, etc.).

I understand that. But he said "forever." Twice. As in; eternally, always, and an endless period of time. I was trying to put emphasis on the forever part. :)
