I know "Art" refers to a concept-turned-spirit, but I can't help picturing a dork teenage version of Arthur Dent.

"Start with imagining some romantic setting, a wyvern pit for example."

oh my god Solas

In real life news (I have nothing Solas-related to add to this), I had my first full shift of work today and I'm exhausted. It's a busy shop, pretty merciless for the new. I think I'm going to play more DA2 then fall straight asleep.

Ship them if you want :) I might write something wacky, but it feels really wrong to bring children into the serious version of that universe

Oh no no, I meant as a cute, fluffy script thing.

I just think it's so stinking adorable.

I pride myself on being a big girl who can venture out alone into the wilderness that is all the other threads on this forum, but golly people can get nasty out there sometimes. It's like some people are just looking to pick a fight. Here's my tips to surviving beyond the Blanket Fort which evidently do not always work.

1. Don't mention the Solasmance unless absolutely necessary. Knowing you're a Solasmancer will automatically get the trolls interested.

2. Use emoticons if you are joking, so people don't take you seriously. Text often does not convey tone adequately.

3. Be a little self deprecating. Point out the weaknesses in your own argument, so people realize you aren't an arrogant brick wall. This will encourage them to counter you in a respectful way.

4. If someone gets nasty/trolls you, ignore them. Alternatively you can kill them with kindness. They might even apologize.

Anyway, it's nice to be back here. Solas Thread, never change.

It's true. I've said it before.

The Blanket Fort is the glittering gem among the vast sands of the internet. A jeweled oasis that only the true of heart find.

The Solas and Cole thread over in general/spoilers is quite pleasant.  In other threads I've had to get on the defensive straight away, but not in that one.

The Iron Bull and Blackwall threads were also very nice to me when I popped in with questions.

For my first 100 or so posts I tried to hang around different parts of forum, but now off-topic is dead this is probably the only decent thread in the entirety of the BSN and I literally don't post somewhere else unless I'm willing to get into a fight.

There are a number of other character threads which are pretty cool and just filled with nice fans, but none are still as active as we are. Which is a shame, really :(

Also if you argue for the Inquisitor to return in DA4, then you must be an emotional Solasmancer who does not understand logic. -_-

Are we the forum gremlins?  :o

I will occasionally venture out and read some things, but it usually ends with me going, "Yeesh. Back to the safety of the Blanketfort." instead of posting anything.

They will feel the wrath of the slow arrow....

Yeah, I "love" that one; I've seen it used on even those who were adamant they were either uninterested with the romance or said that they dislike (or their character dislikes) Solas and want to end him. It's nothing more than ad hominem - an "easy target" for those who aren't even interested with discussion, or don't know what discussion means... I rarely waste my time on them anymore. It's not worth it.

Ahh yes, because everyone who loves Solas as a character wants their Lavellan to romance him if Quizzy is the protag in the next game.

Honestly, ad homimen arguments are the most annoying ones because it makes me want to defend my intelligence. It's pretty annoying because some of the most vocal new-PC folks use that argument over and over. I had to force myself to leave the debate because it was getting no where.

I love my purple hair, but it's a bit of a pain to maintain.  Mine is a combination of purple and dark magenta dye, and the purple definitely fades, bleeds, and stains more.  So after two weeks, the magenta is still pretty good, but the purple is noticeably faded.  I've been using dye in my conditioner once a week to touch up the purple, and that seems to work pretty well.

Do you use cool water to prevent the color from fading?

I dyed my hair 'vampire red' a few times. I have brown hair and it actually stuck well, the brand was manic panic and it was semi-permanent.

Now I just die it black :P.

And no, I can't stomach cold showers.  Lukewarm is the best I can do.  I know I'm a pansy, but I'd rather be a pansy than be unreasonably cranky from a cold shower :P

So classy we giggle at butts :)

At this point, if I'm not in the mood to laugh at overly emotional forumites, I just don't bother engaging. The line between fandom being funny and fandom being infuriating is a thin one, and I prefer to stay on the side of funny.

I can't either, lukewarm if I'm trying to be good about my hair color. I like my showers hot.

Yeah, I've left it some time ago, because this thing was basically spinning itself in circles - at one point I just got frustrated with basically repeating myself all over again and wasn't really given any decent new argument (not just new PC - which I think we will have - but against any appearance of Inky ever) to work with and instead being hit with either strange leaps of logic or denial of it. The discussion is done anyway, the way I see it. We won't be knowing how DA4 will be, and being irked about it years before its release is pointless. I still think that they have to have something in store for Inky, given both how the story was told and the devs yet to deny Inquisitor's involvement, as they deny HOF's return... but I prefer to spend this time more productively and creatively, or at least do so in good company :)

Yeah, I wouldn't be certain of productive :P  But at the very least, we are entertaining!

IMO it's pretty easy to tell within a post or two if people want a discussion, or if they're only interested in being salty or hearing themselves talk.
