Same here. I got that line. Abelas' line to a Lavellan is the  'you are not my people' stuff, and 'shadows wearing vallaslin'.

Don't you get those only if you use special dialogue option?

I never really thought that much on the dialog option I took during the quest perhaps thats it.

I have a friend who idealizes the Grey Wardens and the Legion of the Dead. So far, he's only gotten up to the end of Witch Hunt. 

He is going to be displeased with the Wardens. But the Legion? So far, the Legionnaires have lived up to their reputation. Renn certainly makes an impression.

I'll just stick with the one I am doing... I tried nanowrimo once and the pressure actually completely kills my creativity and wish to write anything at all.

Some pages back there was a discussion about the scene where Solas offered to remove Lavellan's vallaslin, and now I'm curious: How many of you chose to not remove the vallaslin and why? My quizzy kept hers because although she is passionate about the past and her culture she still believes in moving forward. She felt that removing the vallaslin would be like removing a part of herself and letting the past dictate her future. After the revelations and the end of the game and in Trespasser (and seeing how beautiful the scene truly is!) I almost wish I had let him remove them (I never change canon decisions though, unless I have a very good reason to). 

 

So is my quizzy the only one who kept her marks? If you kept the vallaslin, what was your reasoning?

Not Solas related, but I was at the fabric store Thursday and found a book on Granny Squares. 75 different granny square patterns and 20 project/pattern ideas for them! I'm super excited. The first throw I ever made was one huge granny square. And I made each of my kids an afghan out of granny squares when they were babies, my son still has his (gosh how sweet is he to have kept it this long!)

Mine removed her vallaslin, because of what she had learned, and she thought that after all of this was done, she would go spread what she had learned. Though she didn't think she'd be doing it alone. For her, a lot of what she had been through was a new start, so with what Solas said about the vallaslin and freedom and slaves, etc, it fit that.

 

But they did a good job with the whole scene, and having him accept you fully even if you keep them, makes the decision ultimately personal.

 

Vallaslin headcanon stuff is going to come up in my writing soon,( in ALL THREE timelines - ), and I'm still sort of figuring out just how to do it.
