Somehow, I keep accidentally writing lines that rhyme.

It's not a smut chapter at all.......but I was typing the first few paragraphs and then realized they had already.

I started the next chapter for Zevellan.......

*sigh*
I opened with these two finishing up getting dressed and Nehn fixing her hair and then shades of a makeout started happening but then I kept noticing my lines rhymed. Trying to write actual warm moments of romance and not be Dr. Seuss here.

I think I spewed put enough bad rhymes a few chapters ago to stay clear of accidentals for a while.
Although, a Dr. Seuss romance would probably be super cute. Trippy. But cute.

@Anyone else keep vallaslin question from a few pages back:
Yep and here is why:
vallaslin were slave markings in the time of ancient Arlathan. entire Ages have past, and they are not any longer. the Dalish were mistaken about some things, the origin of the vallaslin included, but the markings have a different meaning in Dalish culture now. Solas and Corypheus see them as slave markings, but Solas and Corypheus are both stuck in the past, a past that they’re both relics of. I can’t speak to how most Dalish in Thedas would/will react to the revelation, but for my Lavellan, her vallaslin boldly and loudly identify her culturally as Dalish, and that’s everything to her.
they identify her as an adult among her people, someone who was strong enough to undergo and withstand the pain during the application successfully, in silence, and someone who was responsible enough to meditate on their culture and way of life. they tie her to her Keeper, to her clan (which are her entire world and the thing she cares about most and above all else), and mark her as part of that family. they identify which god she spent her adult life honoring most/following most closely - by the end of DA:I she’s lost her faith in the pantheon and no longer believes in gods, but there are values and flaws associated with Elgar’nan in [what she now considers to be] the fables, qualities which are an intrinsic part of who she is.. leadership, fury, fatherhood, battle, fire, vengeance.. there’s a reason she received Elgar’nan’s design after meditating. they’re part of her history and life experience, and have been part of her for so long - she doesn’t want to just erase that. besides, she’s free regardless of their presence or absence. she is very much a creature of the present, and sees it as a form of reclamation. by the end, she’s done with the past and with the ancient elves - “I don’t wear the vallaslin for the ancient elves, I wear them for me.”
they’re inescapably part of her identity, just like her battlescars are. in a way they are mistakes in the same way as the scars are - didn’t duck quick enough here, shouldn’t have engaged that enemy there, made a mistake about some symbols there. she’s not one to hide from the mistakes she’s made - bear the consequences and keep them as a reminder, learn from it and move on. she wouldn’t “fix” her scars if she had access to a spell that did that. she’s at peace with her appearance, doesn’t really care. also, in the moment that he offers to take them away, she angrily tells him it’s bullshit and that he’s being a smartass - doesn’t believe him initially, lol, doesn’t want to. stubborn pride. in the final battle Corypheus mocks her, look at you, proudly wearing the markings of a slave! Yes, yes she is. aint nobody taking her vallaslin away.
That's a brilliant way to look at it; My Lavellan did remove hers, though, in the heat of the moment and with her clad dead, she just didn't belong anymore.

Would you do it in a boat?
Would you do it near a goat?
Would you undo a lover's braid?
Would you like to get your elves laid?
I have done more than enough there. I should sleep and no one should ever read that terrible thing I just wrote.

You guys. I rolled another lady elf because I wanted a play through with Solace as romance, because I think it would be good to have a world state with this for the next game whenever it eventuates.
Plus you guys love him so much I had to know what I was missing out on. He is also the last romance I haven't played out myself or really spoiled myself on (besides the Cullen romance pt I have going rn that's wrapping up).
I've completely ignored him this latest pt and talking to him again with my new elven inqi - I had forgotten he talks so much. ![]()

I confess to picking some "Shut up Solas" dialogue options on my canon Inquisitor, who is a Solasmancer

Open question to the late night folks of the Blanket Fort.
What color hair and eyes do you think June had?
I need ideas for reasons.
Mauve. Or amber.

He appears bald in his mural.
Abelas's lack of head hair (including eyebrows!) has made me wonder if all pre-Veil elves were entirely hairless, and if Solas just magicked some eyebrows on to avoid attention. Can anyone tell if Abelas has eyelashes?
That makes me wonder how they would have coped without eyebrows, though. Eyebrows are useful for keeping sweat out of the eyes. Maybe the elvhen didn't sweat at all? Humans have little hairs in the ears that help with hearing, did the elvhen lack those as well?

dawnstonedagger's reasoning is solid and makes tons of sense but since elves I headcanon elves (at least the first of them, like the Evanuris) made themselves bodies and were very mobile (Eluvians) I just try to imagine him by how a person with his passions and hobbies would look in my mind.
I imagine him with shoulder length light blonde (even platinum) hair, harsh features (as if carves from stone) and glowish hazel eyes. If he could have a beard he would totally have but elves don't grow beards, so.. no
.
He's somewhere between an artist to craftsman and I can see him hanging inside a lab of sorts for long times, so fair skin.
He'd probably have some intricate hair pieces and intricate armor.

In the mural showing Fen'Harel removing vallaslin from slaves you can see elves had hair pre-Veil.

Okay so.. EggCrusher made a character called "Dirthamen" and he is fine.. For all of you inspired by the mysterious Evanuris known as 'The Keeper of Secrets', 'Falon’Din’s reflection' and 'Master of the ravens Fear and Deceit':

Also, we got caught red handed.. Just as Dirthamen said the line, a person came past. And then stopped, turned around and stood there. When in doubt, "WOT" them away!
