I never get why people assume a child!Herald would become the Inquisitor.  It's far more likely that they'd remain the Herald and become the figurehead of the Inquisition (perhaps being used as an example of a new life triumphing over the old chaos, or the innocence of Andraste.  Typical propaganda stuff) and Cassandra would've become Inquisitor (or Hawke, since Varric would've still contacted her after reaching Skyhold and the position would now be vacant).

No kidding......plus....I mean I don't know what age child we are talking about.....but do you have any idea how terrible of decisions are made by 2 year olds?

It doesn't make sense to me either. They wouldn't send a child to spy on the conclave so they'd never get the anchor.

Oh, interesting memory this morning.

 

So, I've been having a lot of fun with this whole writing fanfiction stuff and thinking to myself "Why have I never done this before?!?!? I'm fan of all kinds of cool stuff!!"

 

Then it dawn on me. I have done this before.

 

Sorta.

 

When I was in high school, my senior English/Lit teacher had us read Catcher In The Rye. After we read the book, she gave us the writing assignment of choosing a character from the story other than the main character and writing a short story in the style of the book. First person narrative sort of thing.

Nearly everyone in my class chose Jane, Holden's(the main character) friend.

 

I chose James Castle. A boy who committed suicide because of bullying at Holden's school. And I wrote the day he killed himself.

 

My teacher read it to the class, she cried and everyone in the room was dead silent for like 10 minutes afterwards.

 

 

That was my first technical crack at fanfiction. A prompt given to me by my senior Eng/Lit teacher.

 

TF kind of kid was I in high school?!?!? Also, I kind of wish I could find it, dig it up and edit it.

So instead of working on doing horrible things to my novel protagonist, which I will make myself start at some point today, I have returned to writing this past fluff thing but scrapped, at least for now, the idea of starting it where the other left off. So there's no post sex stroll back to camp with the sack of goats. I know you are all very disappointed.

No goats? That is a disappointment.

I'm afraid I may have to scrap the goats from a future chapter as well. We shall see. Cause I think I figured out my next smutty nonsense chapter, but finding a place for the goats is difficult. We'll see.

Also, muse Zevran is strangely quiet today. I have this terrible feeling that this means he and Aaryn are in some deep, hidden part of my brain 'kissing' and at some point later today he's going to show up and tell me all about it.

I'm a little scared of that moment.

This sounds like something I would have done as well. In 9th grade my Literature teacher was into very dark stuff so we read a lot of Poe, and King as well as other less known writers that wrote dark stories. It was not a happy time in my life and the stories made the depression worse. To this day I can't enjoy Poe or King because of it.

 

There was one that we read called We Have Always Lived in the Castle. I remember I found this one very intriguing, if somewhat creepy. 

 

Edit: And I now have a strange desire to read it again. I just bought a copy of it for my Kindle

ugh I want to get on with my NaNo - I absolutely love the Awakening squad, they might just be my favourite, I'm so hyped to finally write about them - but my brain is plaguing me to finish this slam poem I said I'd write last week and now have mentioned to three separate people so I have to save face rather than ignore it as per usual. I have to finish it tonight if I want any hope of memorising it for Tuesday night.

 

I might just give up and go read some Hegel instead. Because apparently my weird brain believes that's easier than writing

Confession: honestly my course is the only thing I'm on top of at the moment (I've had a week of refusing to get out of bed for anything but reading). I can't be organised for more than three weeks before my head decides to explode and I refuse to talk to anyone or do anything except go to work. I can't wait until this current shitty low phase is over . I probably should try and check out campus mental health services again - last time, at my last university, they actually made things worse. I can't shake the feeling this is my fault andI'm not trying hard enough.

I didn't sign up. I wonder if I still can? If not I will just do it next year. I really have no story idea, unless I do a DAO or DA2 or post trespasser to my current story. Then I have school and work and well do I even have the time? I spend so many hours on the current one already....

 

Anyway good luck on your Nano story! I would enjoy an Awakening story. (this is where I'm leaning the most if I do NaNo, with a Cousland/Nathaniel ship.)

Honestly, I've been struggling a bit myself lately. Money issues and trouble getting a new job after so many cutbacks at work and all sorts of other stuff. It can feel overwhelming and paralyzingly stressful. I've been trying to just get small things done, like doing the dishes (I can very much let those pile when I'm feeling low) or cleaning for a few minutes, or making myself actual meals (there have been days where I forget to eat much). This might also be why, in my case, my health has been weird lately. So many low blood pressure episodes. I stumbled and nearly fell yesterday morning due to one.

 

Small things sometimes can help just enough. Getting out of bed, putting on clothes, taking care of yourself in small ways.  I saved a good list i saw the other day on Tumblr just in time for a bad evening. I can link that if you want. I've also sought out help at times that just made things worse, but don't let that discourage you/turn you off the idea.

 

You can also talk to me if you'd like. 

 

I will begin this novel today and be an evil, evil writer who hates her characters and causes them to suffer.

 

I may continue this fluff first though. I wonder if I should fudge a combination name or just pick one out of thin air, or maybe call dad Enasal.

 

Or Mirsalen (mir -my , sa- one, len - child) the only child of his parents. Maybe that.

 

But I do think the goats have been scrapped this time.

Well Trespasser is done again and with a much clearer head and spending so much time reading every single codex entry and listening to banter, etc... I am now convinced Solas is not the enemy and will not be a future enemy unless you treated him like crap. Also we are actually close to reliving Andraste's journey and thus repeating history, and that must stop before it's too late. I also wonder if the title Trespasser was just random or a coincidence to Shartan's words in DAO regarding Home or symbolic based on what Solas says.

I didn't even consider doing NaNoWriMo this year. I know I'd never be able to stay on top of it with everything else that's going on. And I mostly write short fiction anyway. And I don't even have an idea. 

 

But I got the game development Humble Bundle a few months back on a whim, haven't looked at it at all, and I've been wondering if should adapt NaNoWriMo to be... NaGaDevMo (?) In order to justify trying it out. But I have no experience in any sort of game development. And I don't have a idea for that either.

Oh, that's terrible! My middle school reading teacher had us read a lot of Poe, and Bradbury, and even a few scripts and novelizations of Twilight Zone episodes... Although, I actually really loved that class. I blame it for my love of all things creepy and disturbing. But I know a few of my friends were very... unnerved by it.
