Hey that's really cool! It reminds me of these mosaic plates my neighbour had when I was young. Those colors are really vibrant, did you use markers? Good work :).

I think the hinterlands is a lot more fun when you stop playing attention to all the quest markers and just explore. It seems more densely packed compared to the other maps so you never run out of things to discover.

I actually freaked out that one time I followed a blood trail at a camp I found in the forest and saw that hanging skeleton with the bloodied coins below it. I'm guessing the guy was attacked by a bear and hung himself to prevent dying in agony.

Oh thanks man :) means heaps, I used acrylic paints, which are meant to give it a permanent stain finish, not that you can see it lol. Glad you liked it :)

 Thank you.

And the suggestion looks perfect. Because I was going to add to my post "Basically anything Zervan would do I need. For science."

You know I haven't played the base game since Trespasser. Seeing Solas like that makes me sad  -_- and this is coming from someone who has rewatched the Trespasser romance scene a blue-billion times.

Play it again. Listen to his dialogue. It's like a lightbulb going off atop your head. He was not that good at hiding himself as he thought he was. If my Inquisitor could go back in time, she would facepalm at how dumb she was.

I hope the next DA game would focus on balance. Balance between linear story and open world. Balance between towns and nature. Balance between depressing stuff and happy stuff.

This is from a site "Dominant Solas Trash Club". This morning just got weird. Sorry, no link, followed Pinterest and Tumblr and got lost.

Regarding NaNoWriMo, I thought I'd just put Bookkeeper there, but I am already doing it hence it is not November, and well... I don't work well under pressure, even if self-imposed.

So kudos to all who can manage.

Yeah, but it's kind of sad too. All the moments he shared with you-- every piece of advice, every sign of approval, every confession of his feelings is now weighed down by the fact that he was planning to betray you and everything the Inquisition stood for as soon as he got the power to do it. All the time you spent with Solas, no matter how relaxed or friendly or genuine he seemed somewhere in the back of his mind he thought of you and everyone you cared about as an expendable sacrifice for his greater plan.

-_- Maybe rolling a Inquisitor that doesn't get along with Solas will make me feel better.

Ha! I got a question which might ruffle some feathers.

I've seen a lot of people fiercely refusing dominant Solas. Now, Don't jump on me just yet - I am not talking 50 Shades of Awful here. Only a man who'd probably try to lead and have the upper hand in relationship, all in a mature and respective manner. However a lot of the fandom refuses that idea. I do not think it's that way off, though. He's been young and hot blooded once, and now much older and wiser, perhaps, but still himself. He shows signs of dominance throughout the game. (Why does the dominance word sound so bad when written in here? Ungh.) Is it because Lavellan basically initiates the relationship? That itself isn't sign of him not being so.

Now this is just my headcannon I do not - I repeat I do not - take anyone else's headcanons away or as offensive. It's a game, and we're free to imagine whatever we want to.

I am just wondering from where that "oh no, he'd never" comes. (And again, I am not talking Christian Grey here, or Iron Bull, m'key? Being dominant is not exclusive with being loving and gentle.)

The butt grabbing, comments of wanting to see Lavellan dominated and saying getting her into bed would be a pleasing side benefit does not lead me to see Solas as a lover who will not take action. He even used tongue! I only refuse to see him do anything that would harm or abuse his lover because he hates abuse of any kind.

He's not betraying you. He's doing his own thing to try and save a ruined world, he didn't want it to end the way he feels it must, because he's grown to respect/love you.

Dominance is not abuse though.

I wonder if the answer to Fen'Inan's question might just be that there is a lot of bad writing or HC out there, and just a general misunderstanding that dominance equates to abuse.

Yes! Dominance is not abuse. It seems a lot of people use these terms interchangeably, though, and it saddens me. I'd never think or HC that he'd harm. Going to check the smut thread now. There goes my editing, hah. :P

Exactly. I saw a fic about him torturing the Inquisitor sexually and I was a bit nauseous when I skimmed through it. It was a Fifty Shades of Grey thing and not Solas at all, but they claimed they wanted to show a more dominant Solas. If it's to be believed, keep him in character but draw out a darker side we know lurks deep within that enjoys being on top, but don't get gross. Suddenly having him become this BDSM guy who was pretending to be gentle Solas does not connect with me.

Well the dominant thing is a bit nuanced in itself. You're talking about him being dominant in the relationship as a whole, right? Not just in bed? Christian Grey is an example of the latter (a bad abusive one) and I.B. is an example of the former. As the Inquisitor you're in a leadership role over Solas so him being dominant in all aspects of the relationship just wouldn't work (everyone is entitled to headcanon though). He can think allowing the Gray Wardens to stay is a bad idea but you're in charge, so the decision is up to you as is whether or not you take him out on missions. I think it'd be a little out of character for a dominant Solas's influence to reach that far, but as as for the bedroom I don't see what the problem is. Personally, I don't picture Solas as someone who has a kink for being dominant but if it's something that Lavellan wants why not? It isn't crazy to picture him as someone who might enjoy that role either in my opinion. He likes to be in control of situations so that might very well translate to the bedroom.

He didn't say he wanted to see Lavellan dominated. He said her focus. Flustering someone who is ordinarily very focused can be a turn on. And that's only to a mage, anyway. To my rogue he called her graceful in the hottest way possible.  (Best flirt ever)

Taking action doesn't mean dominating, and it doesn't mean partners don't take turns taking action either. I don't HC anything dom about Solas, I see an equal partnership. Maybe that's just my preference but there's nothing there to suggest otherwise to me.

The fact who he is and his role in the story could've, if written more sloppily, fallen into a troubling power imbalance as a romance without care.

I really disagree with that statement. He did/is betraying you. I agree that he's trying to fix things in his own messed up way and that he does genuinely love/respect your Inquisitor if romanced or a friend but that does not mean what he's doing isn't a betrayal to you and your relationship.

Lol that was not all he meant when he said that about seeing it dominated. It was his flirty reply that had a hidden meaning. He likes to do that. Again that proves he likes to be in charge. He always adds more to the flirt than you and it makes your PC squirm.

Funny thing is, the mage one has the biggest hint of attraction, but the other ones are compliments that can make him seem interested in any race. He told my Trevelyan her grace was an enjoyable side benefit. That could be taken wrong. I feel the recycled dialogue kind of ruins the flirting at that point.

Betrayal is using someone for your own selfish gain. He actually wanted to help heal the world, and let people have peace. He breaks up with you so you do not think he led you on and if you accuse him of taking you, he said he would never do that under false pretenses. Anders betrayed you. He had you do a quest that blew up the Chantry and never told you his intentions. He used you to kill many but at least Solas is warning you, probably in hopes you will stop him. Have some faith my friend.

Just wanted to say, and this has nothing to do with Solas, but dominance IRL, if done right, is an equal partnership.

I just thought about it all in all - both relationship and bed. The fic I am trying to muster up has a non-Inquisitior to be with him, and hence I was trying to figure out the power play there. Yes, I know dominance is nuanced, as is anything. I myself live in a relationship as such (where the guy has only a dash bit of dominance in some matters... Arabs, hmh) since I simply sweep the floor with anyone I feel as too much equal or even more timid (I am not timid. I am dominant myself.) than I am. That never ended well, and I'd just use and throw the guy like an old paper. Yes, I am a very nice person. :P

But it made me realize I never really saw this aspect of Solas explored well. Though, it does, admittedly, have nothing in common with the game. :P

I wanted to watch more episodes of Reign tonight, so my daughter started it, well evidently I am 5 episodes ahead of her and I'm not allowed to watch anymore until she catches up.  <_< I should attempt to plot out my NaNo even if it is a loose plot that changes, but I'm procrastinating. It's only the first day I've got time right?
