Man, this whole Solas thing being for elves only really has thrown me for a loop! But, i've spent (probably too much of) the morning planning a Dalish girl just as cool as my slightly-bratty-eccentric-genius noble girl (who I'm rather liking the idea of pairing with Josephine. Or maybe even The Bull? Hmmm....) I was going to romance our Solas with.
Like some of you, I'm not interested in playing the Shem-hating type of Dalish, and was uninterested in playing an elf because of how their culture and attitude seem so pre-defined. Fortunately I LOVE playing black sheep types, and thought, why can't this be any different?
Nejsu (pronounced Nay-SOO) will be a pariah among her clan. Quick to question, quick to doubt, and secretly agnostic. Though she loves the mythology of the Creators, to her it's just that - mythology, and she's equally fascinated by the religions of other cultures. Actually, she's fascinated by other cultures, period - and has a secret stash of Genetivi's books to prove it
. Also, while she appreciates the desire to reclaim elven history, she also thinks it's holding the Dalish back, and that they should look forward to the future and build themselves anew - even if it means embracing knowledge from other peoples. This has made her rather unpopular, as you might imagine... Maybe there's even been some scandal in the past with her befriending (or perhaps having an affair with!) a human, even if it didn't last. So she's found solace in nature, and goes out on long solitary hunts to get away (which has made her completely inept socially- if I can give her an aggressive personality without making her too much of a jerk I will - I'd love for her to have a bit of a 'feral' quality). She might even have contemplated leaving her clan, but feels too duty-bound to do so. She will absolutely jump at the chance to go spy on some humans and learn more about them.
