Yeah, I can see the point they're making. I don't know that there's a big difference for me between the two, but then again I'm probably not the target audience. I will say that when it comes to DAI guys, I prefer Dorian's bare shoulder to Bull's shirtlessness.
Ha! I also worry about Morrigan being cold. I let her keep her outfit, but always give her all those Iced Bands I keep finding.
Then again, Bull has a tiny head on a massive upper body and Dorian's bare shoulders are pretty sexy.
Well.

Illyria delivers on Fem Dorian, I like the muscles (and usually I'm not into muscles?).
Cee, what do cats accept for tribute? I've never seen the Hunger Games and don't know where to start.
I should sleep. Drew till 5 a.m.

I'm usually not into very muscular people, but some definition on arms like that can be pretty hot.

Right, my issue was , they did eventually give Jack a reason in game for wearing the strap. She was trying to strap down a bit because she was on a prison ship. And thus it waves off the strap and why she looks like she does in ME3 - no more flimsy binding strap so now she's put her boobs on display. I mean, I have no issue with real people who dress however they want, but when it comes to media, giving characters reasons just to justify even somewhat questionable design decisions has the effect of making a lot of people roll their eyes.
Just look at the reveal for why Quiet in Metal Gear Solid V is dressed in a bikini and ripped stockings. If the design team had just said "we wanted to have her dressed like this" instead of coming up with what might be the flimsiest excuse in recent memory, the honesty would've at least been more acceptable.
What is the excuse? (we can continue this in private rather than spam with offtopic stuff)
Well.
Dorian being a man is also to blame for Solavellan hell.

Yes. I actually shouldn't even have compared them because I do find Dorian quite attractive while Bull mostly tends to scare me. ![]()

But when it comes to F/F romances, I like to play the knight in shining armor courting the Disney princess.

I don't care enough about LG to get involved in this drama, but someone should probably tell them that writers are supposed to be manipulative. Like, that's the point. Manipulating the reader into caring and having emotions. All art's supposed to make you fee something, and trying to direct someone's emotions is an inherently manipulative act.
Well LOL, basically all art is, well... the art of manipulating the audience to have some kind of reaction. It doesn't matter if we use words or body language or splashes of color or any other medium - art is what it is. It is mostly an illusion and artists are "illusionists", "liars" and 'manipulators", basically (but not in a malicious way). Tricksters, if you'd like ![]()

Josephine I love, but I wish she were less like me to make it less weird.
I don't think I have a particular type.

How happy would you be with that set of options? Who would you romance?
I'd be intrigued to see how gender-swapped Solas would work because a lot of his traits - the quiet scholar who believes in reason - are depicted as overwhelmingly male ones 99% of the time (that's not a criticism, just an observation), and I'd be really interested to see how that would fare - how it would be put together, and how it would be received - with a woman. I think political figures, particularly impassioned radicals, are shown as male most of the time as well. I'd actually be really excited by the idea (but saddened at the lack of bisexuality, I feel for all you m!Lavellans still).
... the more I think about lady!Solas the more I love it, actually. The Dread Wolf defies all expectations and regulations - including gender ones.

Hm that Dorian post just gave me a thought. Imagine if all the characters - since they're all of a binary gender, to my knowledge - swapped to a different gender, but their sexuality stays the same. e.g. Solas becomes a straight girl, Cass becomes a straight guy, Dorian becomes a gay lady, Josephine becomes a bisexual man etc.
How happy would you be with that set of options? Who would you romance?

That's a really interesting question. I'm actually pretty intrigued by the idea of a lady Solas. I wouldn't have thought so, but then I never considered it until now.
Important question though: she's still bald, right? ![]()
What you said about male vs female political figures, though. I don't have a strong opinion on this, but it made me think of this french biopicViolette I saw recently. In it, the main female character falls in deep unrequited love with Simone de Beauvoir, and the way de Beauvoir was depicted in that movie - very cool, self-possessed, sometimes aloof and sometimes fiery, very principled and in command of her own opinions and self-expression - I totally got why the main character went nuts for her. I think a lady Solas would be a little like that, and yes it would be attractive. Hmm.

I think my characters' romances would be like:
Surana - Morrigan (she is fascinating, although I did find the way she gave approval and disapproval at times to be a bit... disturbing)
Hawke - Aveline! But I guess I have to pick Isabella (I do like Merrill, but I found her at times to be too childlike to be able to romance her)
Lavellan - Cassandra (that woman is just amazing!
)

So Feynite has someone moderating her comments and deleting all of the rude commenter's posts. And this person decided to make a post this morning picking apart random lines in ch 15. I mean, c'mon! You already had a night of sleep. Just leave it alone! I know I'm beating dead horse at this point and I'm not going to bother responding to her new post. I wanted to complain on here. Argh.

I'd probably also go nuts for Dorian. But somehow I also really like the idea of a male Sera - even if I'd then probably'd like to romance her with a female char, which wouldn't work in your setting.
I have been thinking a lot lately about the Elven pantheon and the family relations in it, probably because I've been reading the books by N.K.Jemsin about gods and there was this line: "And now at the end I realize that all of this is just two family conflicts meeting each other".
Elgar'nan is always mentioned as the "Allfather" and somehow the idea of him (the Evanuris Elgar'nan) being a little bit like Jingis Khan (sleeping with every woman he wants, after all he is an all-powerful Evanuris) stuck in my HC. The other gods are revered as his children (except for Mythal) - probably they were exactly that? Like a big dynasty leading back to one unrestrained mage, doing everything he wants and some of his children equaling him in power and becoming rivals? In this context I could totally see Solas actually also being fathered by Elgar'nan and a woman who belongs to the clans of the "Forgotten ones" therefore him being accepted in both communities....
I don't know where I'm leading with this HC but I somehow just can't let it go...
