This is why I was laughing my ass off when people were complaining that they had to pay 15 bucks for each DA DLC as it came out. If you've played the Sims you know how absurd EA can get when it comes to overpriced, gouging expansions. I felt like I got a lot of bang for my buck, comparatively, from the three main DA DLCs (didn't bother with the skin packs).

QFT (thanks SW for giving me that bit of internet lingo).

My reaction to Trespasser was '£15 for the epilogue?  And that meant BW didn't need to rush it for the main game?  Awesome.'

But then I'm so used to the way EA treats the sims customers.

I have a feeling I'm going to get a warning for this.

Aw, are you saying I have a point coming for admitting I used to play in a very underground-y way? :D Darn.

But hey. DA is great.

Seems it's crap weather across the whole of the UK at the moment. I'd say 'it should get better soon' but who am I kidding?

Sorry about the bad weather, but this made me laugh.

We're in an okay pattern right now. Humid, foggy, bit of rain yesterday, but at least it isn't cold yet.

It's weird weather where I am right now. It's super foggy and humid... and also warm. It's November and I live in the Northeastern U.S.! It was freezing a few weeks ago... I am annoyed. I like nice systematic weather. Fall is chilly, winter cold, spring warm, and summer hot. None of this weird warm fall weather after it's already turned cold but then decided it changed its mind and wants to be warm again -.-

Example. :P  Give me all the humid and warm fall days possible because the miserable cold is coming and I don't want extended miserable cold. It's bad enough it's dark at 4:45pm already. :(

So....I was perfectly fine for a few months..no Solas dreams. I've been busy playing other games and it's been good, but now that my new computer will be here soon and I'll be able to play Inquisition again...I had a dream last night.  I remember nothing except running around in Haven. My computer needs to get here NOW!!!

When is your computer scheduled to arrive?

I had a DA-related dream last night that I don't quite remember except that at one point, someone ran Josephine through with a sword and I cannot remember why, but it was super intense and sad. :(

I must be in Solas'y mood now, because I've read "bad weather" as "BALD weather"...

For the longest time, I really disliked Viv. Then after Tresspasser, she slowly began to grow on me. Now I find her a very intriguing character, not without flaws, but with many many positive sides I really didn't appreciate at first. I admire her toughness and ambition, how she does not give a damn and perseveres towards her goals. She's unapologetic and she plays the Game, but she's strangely honest about it. Plus, her snark is delicious.

She's exactly the type of person I can't stand. The last straw was doing her quest, getting her what she asked for, and then having her just blatantly invite people in order to use you in front of them for her own selfish social climbing. I wanted an option to refuse to entertain her guests and call her out on her self-centered power play.

I didn't recruit her after the first time. I will when I make my human mage but for now I may just keep on leaving her invitation unanswered.

This is the top result when you image search bald weather.

Why do I suddenly want Solas in a blue rain coat and ridiculous pose?

I had a funny and slightly weird dream the other night. I was an assistant of a therapist and one day she came to me and said, that something strange was going on. She had so many new patients lately and all of those told her the same story: They met this guy, who they really liked, but he played hard to get. Eventually they would get into a relationship with him and everything seemed fine. Until he takes them out an a really fancy date, where he breaks up with them. My boss was very concerned about that and wanted my opinion on the matter and asked if I thought she should warn the authorities about this guy who obviously made it a habit to trick women into relationships just to break their hearts. We decided she should give the police a hint about that and sadly the dream changed to something else then.

I have nooooo idea, where this came from. Nope. Not at all. Who could that strange guy be? I have never heard of such a story.

Hint:

I seem to be jinxed or something; everytime I want to play DAI for a while something happens and I have to stop. Urgh.

See, my interpretation of that scene is that this is really the only way Vivienne knows how to show her appreciation of you. It may seem like a self-centered gesture but I think she's showing how much you mean to her by letting you meet people who are quite dear through association - her duke's old family - and letting you know 'you're worth knowing'.

She went to the circle at a young age, so has very few familial ties to speak of, eventually moving into a courtly setting, and believes that status and appearances genuinely matter, probably more so than most things, and affect your living conditions the most - which they do in the circle, given the amount of titles you can earn over a lifetime, and likely the freedoms that come with it. That assumption probably hasn't been challenged by the court either.

I think Vivienne genuinely cares, it's just her ways of showing that she cares can also be read as shallow, empty gestures - which is quite clever when you think on it. You have to know Vivienne well to truly understand the difference.

Edit: adding to this a post I found burrowing through vivienne positive hastag:

In addition to the things I posted earlier: Vivienne strikes me as the type of person who gets sh*t done effectively. If your interests align with hers, she's absolutely someone you want in your inquisition. She won't hesitate and she won't angst. And she's pretty open about the way she is and what truly matters to her.

I think we live relatively close to each other Cee! We might have discussed this before. Were you the person talking with me about Amish however many moons ago? Was it Ohio?

I like Vivienne as a character, but I would strongly dislike someone like her in real life. I admire her cunning and her ability to maneuver, but in real life that blatant disregard for individuals would really make me angry.

Yeah, for all her scheming, she is one of most straightforward and honest people in the entire inner circle :D Even straightforward Sera or Cass or Varric have their secrets (Cole is sort of in a category of its own), not to mention Blackwall, IB or Solas.

It's kind of the same with Orlesians and their culture - someone made a point here or there, that while they may use masks and participate in the Game, it's honest in a way that people know exactly what they're dealing with. In both cases it's a type of peculiar honesty and openness that I can't make myself not to appreciate. In fact, I think I kind of adore it, with the spades of hilarious irony and subtexts it brings to the table.

Wasn't me, I'm in NY.

As for Vivienne, the snark is amusing and she was strong enough to make a life for herself, but at the same time, her terrible personality and social climbing power plays are such a huge turn off. She would get on my nerves so badly, and so soon. If there's one thing I instantly dislike, it's snobbery.

I've never not recruited a companion before. Never. She was the first one.

Oops, well same region  I'm Pennsylvanian!

That is telling if you chose to just not recruit her. She must have really gotten under your skin! What do you think of moderately snobby characters like Dorian or even Sera (although she'd deny it!) or more so snobby characters like Morrigan?

On the subject of Lavellot - I... wouldn't put much stock in anything she has to say on Solas or the Solasmance. After bumping into her rants several times over the past few months, she projects a lot onto the situation and insists that her own uncharitable view of Solas is the only correct one. She even manages to take his calm, accepting reaction to keeping the vallaslin, and turn it into a spineless backpedaling on his part. She really doesn't want to see much good in him, so of course her posts won't take it into consideration.

Also she tried to criticize the Solavellan fandom for "having too many white Lavellans" and that pretty much turned me off of anything she has to say. Like, seriously? Policing how people customize their own playable characters? Ugh.
