As it is N7-day I think this is okay to ask - if the different casts from the DA and ME universes could meet, who do you think would become BFF and who would hate each other's guts? Here are my thought:
BFF
Morrigan - Miranda (they are both determined and intelligent women who have magic/biotics in common and have a decidedly protective streak regarding their families. Also, mummy/daddy issues they can bond over!).
Isabela - Kasumi (they are both easy going women who love to have fun, and I'm sure they have many interesting heists they can talk about).
Iron Bull - Wrex (hey, they both like to hit things and drink!).
Varric - Garrus (they will thoroughly enjoy bullsh!tting each other over a pint or two while discussing the art of sniping).
Solas - Mordin (they both know a lot about regret and trying to make amends. They are both intellectuals and nerds, so they will have many interesting talks).
Fenris - Thane (people who share sexy voices always bond... right? And besides, they both have a philosophical streak)
Allow me to disagree vehemently! Those two would squabble eternally. Mordin has a very short life span and is trying to heal as much of what is here as possible. They both have regrets but they deal with them in completely different ways, even though they are both ruthless when necessary.
Mordin: 'big picture made up of lots of little pictures.'
Solas: 'Sometimes to achieve the world one desires, one must take regrettable measures.'
I think Mordin would consider his 'regrettable measures' completely unacceptable, and Solas would be horrified at the sterilization at an entire race. They would argue forever, and it would be glorious. Oh for goodness sake, I have enough ridiculous crossover stories in the works already, stop feeding the plot bunnies!

Happy N7 Day!
Spoiler
I love the mako because it's terrible. It was fun exploring planets but even more fun going all out crazy, driving that thing up mountains, and flipping around everywhere. My poor, poor teammates. (Wrex, Garrus and Tali or Liara. I don't think I ever brought the humans with me unless I had to.)
And while it's weird to think about kissing a turian, Garrus is the most amazing spacedinosaur boyfriend ever.
Hehe, same here. Only had Kaiden/Ash for a while and the first minute I got enough aliens I removed the humans.
My team was Garrus & Liara/Wrex and it was wonderful (turned to Garrus & Mordin and then to Garrus & Javik, "there is no Shepard without Vakarian" was almost literal in my playthrough).

Snip!
Have I missed an obvious pairing? Discuss away!
Okay, one more: Samara and Solas. Bear with me on this.
He'd do anything for his goals, she would do anything for the code. They're both reserved and controlled for the most part, and yet capable of spectacular feats of violence. She's far more extreme because for her there are no grey lines. These are the rules, this is the situation, this is the gun. While he is a mess of grey areas, of machiavellian scheming and ends justifying the means, whose life has more value, etc. I think they'd be both disgusted for the other (blind obediance to a code vs no code at all) and yet after time they would achieve an odd camaraderie. They know regret well, they've lost all they cared about but have to keep going anyway. In the end they sit in companionable silence, starring out across the void of space, and sigh over what has been lost.
And then they'd kill each other because that was what needed to be done.

They're also both really hot.
I have thought about this too, and I agree. I think Solas hit some of the same notes that I found both interesting and attractive in Samara and also divergent enough. Both are actually, I'd say, lawful characters if we want to talk the simplest alignments. Solas doesn't have a strict code, but he holds himself to a very strict idea of something that feels inevitable to him and yet he wants there to be another way. Samara is willing to do her duty too, but you can show her other ways as well.

SpoilerSolas might very well have been appalled at what was done to the krogan, but then again he doesn't mind slaughtering qunari because he believes they are a threat to Thedas so I'm not completely convinced he would not see the rational part. Weekes wrote both characters, can't someone tweet him and ask? It's an interesting discussion nonetheless! Thank you for providing me with another perspective!![]()
I can do this all day. And will, if given the chance.
I think Solas would see the genophage as unreasonably cruel. Even if he didn't consider the krogan 'people' (because he's a super racist grandpa sometimes) thousands of still births over millennia until finally there were none left might strike him as despicable, why not just destroy them instead of dangling a doomed hope before them?
Mordin's reaction to dropping the Veil for the ancient elves would be interesting I think. He takes one look at the collectors, who used to be the protheans, and just says 'nope, nothing left, moving on'. He'd consider Solas' intention to bring back elvhen was wasteful, and insist of paying greater attention to the here and now. mordin aint got no time for living in the past, he's got seashells to run tests on.

It takes a loophole to stop Samara from killing herself. Solas doesn't need a loophole, he is the loophole.
They're also just so old. They've seen things come and go, mostly go, and watched the world change around them. But Samara is strangely optimistic about the future. She's excited about the addition of humans because they're so very contrary, she's looking forward to the variety. Solas is resentful of all these new people and wants his old ones back, even though he himself admits they were pretty rotten to begin with.
Solas asks 'My people or your people?'
Samara says 'I don't have people.'

so I'm writing a long post on tumblr about elves which is fairly critical of the devs (as you do when you're procrastinating on work) and I've got to a point where I need to collect screencaps - but I swore off replaying Trespasser ever again - not until I replay DA:I in full, which won't be for some time given how much of a time sink it is.
As a compromise, I'm replaying The Dread Wolf theme whilst looking through a few of the screenshots I already have and...
well.
It's November. I thought I was done hellspiralling.
(turns out I was wrong).

Writing this tumblr post has made me remember why I was drawn to Solas in the first place. It has allowed me to realise why he's important to me. I still have to hand it to the devs for putting together such a compelling story. I was considering dropping Solavellan as my canon playthrough for a bit because it's just so heavy and I have a feeling it'll massively affect DA4. I don't think I can honestly do that though, crap.

As it is N7-day I think this is okay to ask - if the different casts from the DA and ME universes could meet, who do you think would become BFF and who would hate each other's guts? Here are my thought:
In this scenario, I'm assuming the DA folks are looking to join up on the Normandy. I can't see the ME folks at Skyhold.
Miranda and Morrigan. I would love to see that. I don't think they'd get along at all, actually. Miranda would probably find Morrigan sketchy as hell, best taken out right away before she became a threat. Morrigan would respect Miranda's toughness and abilities ... but the first time she tried to pick at Miranda's insecurities - biotic slam time.
Thane and Solas would probably never run out of things to talk about. I'm not sure they'd be good for each other... Not to mention, having them in the same room would be extremely confusing for me.
Sera and Grunt, trashing the Presidium together.
Legion and Cole
They would observe everything and never ever understand each other.
Solas would find Legion extremely fascinating.
I can see Tali crushing on Cullen.
Bull and Vega. I have zero interest in anything they'd do or talk about together, but this seems like a natural pairing.
Zaeed would hit on Vivienne, and she would put him in the Normandy's trash compactor like I always wanted to do. Finally, I would like Vivienne.
I can't see Fenris getting along with anyone. He would probably find himself in the corner with Javik, who would start needling him, and then it's anyone's guess who would throw who out the airlock first.
My Shepard would enjoy Blackwall's company and be quite forgiving of him, I think.
My Lavellan would fall madly in love with Kaidan. She'd deserve him too.

I'm sorry, I know that was uncalled for but I couldn't help myself.
They'd have the most intense debate filled with secret snark and very good points on the nature of morality and the value of life. Then Mordin would win because he's amazing and isn't trying to blow up the world. Now excuse me while I listen to that recording of Mordin singing Amazing Grace because I have smiled too much today.

Although I agree that Solas would find Legion fascinating I also think that he would be horrified by the geth's lack of individuality and freedom. He would probably make freeing them and developing their sense of self his life's goal if he was forced to live in the ME-universe.

I don't think Solas would be bothered by the Geth's lack of individuality. Geth don't feel, and sad to say Solas probably wouldn't even think of them as sentient. *sniff*. But oh man, Solas would totally lecture the Quarians for making the Geth in the first place.

I just watched the N7 video. Damn, I miss my Shepard now.
Got all emotional that they used FemShep, too. Bioware
The best part is watching the dudegamers complain. Delicious, delicious tears.
I'm definitely interested in the ME series now. But I'm SCARED of another accidental hellspiral.
Do it! And honestly the game is fairly hellspiral free (okay, there's several points that made me cry but the hellspiral romance is easy to avoid because it's not a case of 'this will never work, we shouldn't do it' *makeout* and more
Noo, I'm doomed! Is he human or alien? I think I've heard of him, Moridin? And I know about the ending fail. And the leviathan dlc (I thought they were interesting so I watched them
).
Last night I was trying to find out: are any Kiwis (NZers) mentioned? It'd be so neat to hear an accent from home. I heard one of the girls has an Australian accent (Miranda).
Oh man, I wish Mordin was romanceable. Not kidding.
I'd recommned romancing Liara or Garrus (assuming you're going to play as f!Shep). Liara is plot critical and so has plot armour, and Garrus is fairly awesome (he's my Shepard's bro, though).
She sounds like Shepard, but more relaxed. She sounds great
It seems like we should know more about Andromeda by now. It's still targeted for Holiday 2016 yes?
It's Shepard after the war is over when she's chilling out with Liara and their little blue babies and everything is fine and happy.
Well, that romance does go that way no matter what, yes. Though there can be the feels from a few other outcomes for romances, but if you make generally decent choices you probably won't have to deal with them.
Spoiler
One LI actually has plot armor up until the very end of the game. And one is inevitably feels-spiral material.
Also do not, under any circumstances, romance Jacob.
Romancing Jacob....
Heavy risk.
But the priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiize.
I'm one of those very happy and ready for the return of the Mako.
I. LOVE. THE. MAKO.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT.
The Hammerhead can fight me IRL. Except that wouldn't be fair. That thing falls apart if you frigging sneeze on it.
Since I miss Solavellan I decided to make Solavellan and Skyhold in Sims 4 XD
There you go, they barely know each other and he's already talking about rifts, while she's already planning to fly away with him on a romantic space rocket.
Story of my DAI life D:
I have a Solavellan house in TS3 (finally got the face tattoo mod to work so Lavellan has vallaslin) as well as a LIS Pricefield house.

It takes a loophole to stop Samara from killing herself. Solas doesn't need a loophole, he is the loophole.

Solas asks 'My people or your people?'
Samara says 'I don't have people.'
I love that about Samara as well. She's 900 whatever years old and has seen so very much and cares and still has a certain optimism. Plus the small hints we get about her past and her life only enhance that. My Shepard was dedicated to Liara, but when that option came up in ME2, I had to save, take it and load. Duty over all else. I should've known *shakes stick at BioWare*.
With Solas, it's different since we get a fuller picture only in hindsight and in Trespasser, but an emotionally compromised Solas, friend or lover, I think that is likely to be our loophole.

For those wanting to play and romance Garrus, just know that you can't romance him in the first game. But you do get Kaidan or Liara, and if you want to drop them for Garrus in the second game you can.
I never could bring myself to romance Garrus. He was and always will be the best and closest friend my Shepard ever had, and that was enough for them. Cause Garrus is just that awesome no matter what you do. Besides. Kaidan's not so bad himself.
