Apparently there are 5 different ways that Solas can dump you. There is also a unique dialogue option for if you tried to save his friend, but failed somehow. It seems that you have to play in a pretty inconsistent way to trigger these breakups/dialogue. But it's pretty cool that the writers took all these little details into account.

And if you think about that in terms of them and how they are left at the end of Trespasser, it gets a little overwhelming. He loves her because she is willing to try to save him, not because he thinks there’s a chance of success.

Does anyone find it weird to play a non-lavellan inquisitor after playing a bunch of Lavellans? I keep thinking that Solas was going to kiss my male human quizzy during his romance friendship scenes. I'm so used to seeing those scenes from a romance perspective that I think Solas has a crush on my human quizzy.

And that means Abelas is paler then a corpse. Dude needs to take his hood off sometime, get some sun. Maybe he's terrified of sunburn?

I'm kind of jelly of Abelas' skin actually. How is his nose not tomato red??? Pale person here with bad skin, tomato red nose and red cheeks, trying to pale-myself constantly to match the rest of my body. Do they put luxury skin scream in that herbal mix used on elves in uthenera or what? I have yet to work out the magic of skin products. Need to invest points in my wisdom skill, I think.

 

At least Cole looks relatively human. I mean that in 'plausibly alive and breathing' sort of way, rather than 'he's not an elf or a dwarf or a qunari' sort of way.

I just had a silly idea for DA4. In order to stay undercover, mage Lavellan will learn shape shifting from Morrigan. Non-mages will have a companion who can shape shift them on missions. It's going to be like Animorphs. Solas will never suspect that that innocent looking nug is actually Lavellan spying on him.

There is, actually. I stumbled upon it once the game was supposed to trigger cutscene after I dealt with the last pillar - instead the screen faded to black, yet the fight kept going and Solas killed his friend himself (IMO, it's an interesting headcanon scenario - Lavellan loses consciousness and Solas has to kill his friend to protect her ;P).

 

Basically she tells him that they've tried and he says that Inquisitor's not to blame.

I only have one Lavellan and even though I do sometimes go through alternative playthroughs, I actually have more Trevelyans than Lavellans. I still have to create the Qunari for Sera, either cute elven or human Artificer for Dorian and maybe give dwarf a try, but at this point I'd should probably pour more time I could spend in game into some drawings (besides, my perfectionist modded Lavellan PT is yet to be finished).

I do. I have eight Inquisitors and five of them are elves. So playing anything other than an elf, male or female, is a little weird for me.

Yes, I started a female rogue Trevelyan and it was super weird to be good friends with him and not get the heart option. It's the only way I'm every going to be able to do a Cullenmance though. XD

See, with m!Lavellan, my intent is to go for Cassandra, and I will, but I feel like Dorian is going to be very tempting too. This is my first ever male RPG character when I've had a choice, so it's so rare that I play guys that I should declare this PC bi too and flirt with both of them. But no, I also love Dorian's BFF arc way too much, and Cassandra is just way too adorable when you flirt with her.

Not really sure what to think about Titan being the source of the orb (we see useless orbs scattered in Shattered Library - I think the reason Fen'Harel's orb was important not because for what it was, but because of the amount of power it accumulated over the millenia. Besides - the elf on mural, which is apparently Solas, actually holds something that looks like orb - so he has one already - and uses it to strike the Titan. I think the eight-pointed star represents more power rather than the actual orb, though that power may be used to charge the orb...)..... but LOL, we do know that Solas was elevated to the status of one of the Evanuris (which apparently translates to Leaders) - apparently against his wishes, during his rebellion.

 

I do think however that Solas was working to raise Evanuris to power before (during or after the war) and while he may have not been recognized as one at that time, he played an important role (probably being something akin to Left or Right Hand of Mythal, seeing all the parallels between him and Leliana and Cassandra). He did something to help some sort of organization rise to power - that much is rather clear to me from the comments and banters available to them.

 

It may as well be the source of his mistrust towards organizations (or why there's something of a pang of guilt in his tone when he tries and fails to understand Sera and her asking what's the point of lopping off the top - to create a new one to screw everything up again?), as well as source of his recommended solution for Cassandra after revelations about the Seekers:
 

Solas: How are you feeling, Cassandra, after the revelations about your Seekers?

Cassandra: How do you expect I might feel? Most of my life was dedicated to the Order. I did so much I believed was good in their name.

Solas: Now that you know them corrupt, you must determine which parts of yourself to discard and which to keep.

Cassandra: I assume you have advice?

Solas: I would hardly presume. In our travels, I have been impressed by your honesty and your faith. It is a difficult path, Seeker, but if anyone can walk it honorably, you can.

 

And what did Cole say in one of his cryptic comments during Trespasser?

 "He broke the dreams to stop the old dreams from waking. The wolf chews its leg off to escape the trap."

 

Solas might have been an unaccounted Evanura - we do know that his magic is blue even before he absorbed more of it from Flemythal

.... however I think he was either forced or decided to mostly shed what made him one - I mean, aside from shedding his affiliations metaphorically and so on and the whole ordeal ad exhaustion that came after the effort of creating the Veil.

Oooh that's interesting. If I'm understanding it correctly, and he's saying Mythal killed the Titan in order to make Solas an Evanuris, does that mean the fall of the dwarven empire is his fault, just like the fall of Elvhenan? It makes his conversations with Varric rather uncomfortable. 

Wow Solas, keep this up and you'll make the Reapers jealous.
