I've been gone a bit, no way to catch up with all the topics here. I went away to experience ALL the Dragon Age material, games, comics, short stories, books, not in order of publishing, but in order of time frame. I went by this run-down of it: http://forum.bioware...media-timeline/
I've just started Dragon Age 2 again, and I gotta ****** about character creation. The variation in character creation to the other two games just sucks. My Origins character was better than this one. I just can't get away with making wide cheekbones and very hollow cheeks. No matter how much I mess with the jaw, it looks too big like though it make it small, the bone itself looks thick and gives every character a big almost Aveline jaw, you can't make a delicate looking character.
If anyone can produce a way to create a delicate looking fem Hawk, please help.

Anyway yesterday a question came to my mind and I want to ask if anyone knows.
I was thinking how commendable it is that after 2 years of complete silence Lavellan still loves Solas. I was trying to put myself in her shoes and 2 years is a really long time. I don't know if I could do that.. I did it when I was 18 but I was young back then. (But then again she is also young..). Now I feel like I'm older and I've no time for regrets!
Aanyway the question is: you know when Viddasala tells you the truth about Solas.. When I was with my Lavellan I picked the

It's not outright stated, but I think it's implied that Lavellan has been pining after Solas all these years. Between being locked out of any other romance after he dumps her and her rather emotional response (no matter what she says) when companion ask about Solas in Trespasser (before this point), the game implies that she's not over him. Add that to her saying, "Solas left because he's helping us against the Qunari," and it sounds like she's desperately making excuses for him.
Long story short, I've heard some people interpret the companions' disapproval to the " " option as them thinking, "Oh, honey... not again." Or them thinking that she really needs to wake up and smell the coffee and admit that Solas is probably not the great guy she thinks he is. (That between him being an "agent of Fen'Harel" and him leaving the Qunari corpse at our door so as to spark this fight with the Qunari means he's probably got some shady motives at best.)
Cole, on the other hand, ships these two really hard, and is thrilled when she reveals that she still loves and trusts and wants to help Solas. As Cole keeps saying, "He's not that kind of wolf, he just wants to help," and a female Lavellan who shows she still believes in Solas' good intentions and won't give up on him makes him happy. Cole, at his core, wants people to be happy, and he knows that Lavellan and Solas love each other and would be happy together, so it's likely he supports her not giving up on him and fighting to redeem him and save him from himself.

One of my favorite Cassandra moments, and really, it probably made me begin to really love her, was after allying with the mages in Redcliffe, she greatly disapproves, but then talks to you later and is actually positive about the decision, and shows the beginnings of trust in you. She shows herself to be open-minded and it is one of her best qualities.

While Trevelyan says that "No matter what he has done, he is still their friend", so it not having personal romantic meaning puts them all on the same level, so if Trev considers him a friend so will they.. At least I guess so.
Anyone knows what happens if you don't pick the reply with a romanced Lavellan? Does she still call him Vhenan after? Or does the game automatically assume you are not in love with him anymore? If so how does he react?

Cassandra does tend to condemn first, reexamine or ask questions later.
One of my favorite Cassandra moments, and really, it probably made me begin to really love her, was after allying with the mages in Redcliffe, she greatly disapproves, but then talks to you later and is actually positive about the decision, and shows the beginnings of trust in you. She shows herself to be open-minded and it is one of her best qualities.
Yeah - she's the "hit first, ask questions later" kind of gal, but it really is important that she asks those questions 
Plus, sometimes the 'hit first' approach is kind of necessary XD

Ooh Arya was brought up. I adore Arya! If I could bestow any character in the series with good luck and protection from the wrath of GRRM it would be Arya! I've only watched the first season of the show so I never got to that point, but it makes me sad imagining her reaction. She deserves better
Read the books read the books read the books! They are excellent books, and although I agree with Sable that it is personal preference I haven't met anyone who has read the books and watched the TV series and still preferred the show! Some of the changes the show makes are pretty obnoxious and some completely idiotic (show spoiler)

Seriously though the books are well worth the read. GRRM has some serious talent even if the two most recent books needed some skimming. The third book is my favorite in the series! Arya and Gendry are so cute and I mean that in the awww cute way and not the "wow two characters get along! They should be in a relationship!" way!

I've been asked before what time period I'd like to live in and I always say this one or a time period and world with magic! Magic makes everything better *-* Seriously though, not even mentioning the diseases and lack of hygiene the social standing of certain peoples and the superstitious nonsense would be enough for me to say "Ah heck no!". Now superstition is fine if there is actual magic *-* and social issues are fine as long as I can magic someone into a toad for their ignorant comments!

As much as I enjoy spending time in Thedas I don't think it'd be that great a place to live in! I would want to be a mage, but unless I'm Avaar or Rivaini I don't want to be born a mage in Thedas

I'm the same way... I can't make any of the awkward decisions! It even embarresses me watching the antics of assquistor! And even though Solas is my favorite Inquisition romance I think Cullen has the worst break up! Solas takes it all in stride probably thinking "Well... that makes things easier for me. I'm off to detroy the world now!" while Cullen has a break up where you can say you just want to be friends and he gives you the most horrible "you are an awful person" death glare. I could barely watch the video on YouTube!

That actually does make sense.
A friendly statement like "No matter what he has done, he's still our friend" implies that the Inquisitor is aware that he probably lied and/or committed crimes and/or there's probably more to him than meets the eye, but still gives him the benefit of the doubt. That's something the companions could probably respect even if they think he's guilty.
A romanced Lavellan who says, "That's why Solas left! He was helping us with the Qunari!" makes it sound like she's making excuses for him and/or blindly believing and chasing him. And the Vidasala doesn't present the information in the most flattering light, which would cause companions who didn't trust him that much and/or don't trust apostates/ancient elves in general to think the worst of him.
I don't know about the friendly reply from a female Lavellan, because I never made it. I would have gone back and tried it, but the Saarebas fights were so dang hard that I dreaded fighting them again.
