My maturity astounds me..
I just got Cillian, and I took a photo for you guys. Then I realized he's standing in front of a statue of Fen'Harel
.

Shiny sword:
How would one even come upon the Elvhen armor if they weren't an ancient Elf themselves? The only other Elves we've seen wear it are those ones in Skyhold, but I don't know if they are Elvhen or not.
If he is Elvhen, he was a slave to one of June's followers or June himself because he's wearing his vallaslin.
I was going through some old pinterest folders, and I found Ghili'nains thinking hat.
I want one.
LOL, same. I found it really interesting how my opinion of DA:O shifted when I played it 5 years later. Alistair was a bit whiney, I didn't hate Loghain nearly as much as I remembered, and OMG Wynne. I loved her when DA:O first came out, and when I replayed it I wanted to strangle her.
Mostly I want to apologize to Loghain. He was right about the Orlesians. They 100% suck, and I should have let him go on a murderous rampage through Val Royeaux.
Ditto on Wynne. As well as on Orlais. Loghain was right all along.
Proof once again that opinions do change over time. We got older and we experience more of life so of course we don't see things the same way anymore. Life is grand that way. ![]()

Like I said before.
Bro casually found an ancient shrine in the wilderness.
Bro casually learned lost ancient arcane warrior techniques 'alone' in said shrine.
Bro casually joined the Inquisition.
Bro casually found Dirthamen's lost temple with supposed 'help from some Dalish.' TF does that even mean really? Bro is Dalish, and was second in his clan. Why TF did he casually need help from some random Dalish out there and not the casual elf hobo apostate in the rotunda?
The casual elf hobo apostate who eats, breathes and literally sleeps for this stuff.
All of this. Way too casual.
I found this shop on Etsy that sells a wolf's jawbone necklace, a little Fen'Harel statue, and Inquisitor PJ buttons.
Unfortunately they're a little pricey.
OT: I just spent over 2 hours making a Fallout 4 character (with Solas husband) and just as I was finishing up, the game crashed... *pout* They were both really pretty.... D:

I want a Solas wolf jawbone necklace so badly.
(And that Fen'Harel statue is lovely.)
And sorry to hear about your game crashing. It sucks after you've spent so long creating your character. ![]()
Mini art break.
Solas and sariplushies' Ashae Lavellan post-breakup scene.
Lavellan wants a kiss from Solas. ![]()
Some sketches containing, Solas, Vivienne, Hawke, and a bunch of Quizzies.
And not Solas, but a really awesome gif art of Cassandra in her Divine armor.
I want a jawbone necklace too. There are a lot of options on Etsy and I'm sure someone could be commissioned to make one. This one's my favorite.
The statue is so cute.
It made me think of Lavellan setting it outside of their tent during their travels and Solas being annoyed by this. ![]()
I'm starting to think my PS4 doesn't like me. :/ I have lost so much on it!
That would've made me feel a bit better if this happened. The way he went blank was the worst.. forever hellspiral.
It's grad AU time! First time I've written a direct continuation, so if you missed the previous grad AU post, this one won't make very much sense
Link if you want to catch up reading.
Spoiler
If any of you are curious, Lindsey Stirling and Malukah are the RL inspirations for Lavellan's music.

Oh Maker, Reignite, now I'm crying ![]()
Between playing as Adaar (vitaar instead of helmets) and having helmets turned off all the time, I barely remember that helmets are actually a physical object that you wear. It's just like, "Oh, this thing that gives me better stats. OK!" It could be a tea cozy, and I wouldn't notice.
Am I the only one who suffered through just to see my Lavellan wearing ardent blossom? ![]()
I wanted to give it to Solas but I headcanon he wouldn't have agreed so I gave him a battlemage cowl instead ![]()
I just spent way too much time messing with flycam..
What am I going to do with all these screenshots?!
My life has no purpose.

It's my favourite past time now. FlyCam ftw.

Does the way Cillian talks (especially to Niera) give off Felassan vibes to anyone? I don't think they're the same person but from what I've heard of Felassan, they both seem a bit jolly and kind.. Cillian also comments about having "dreams".
A little bird informed me that Descent/Trespasser DLC music is now available. ![]()

EDIT: In case anyone was wondering, none of the tracks from Trespasser is the one known as The Dread Wolf on YouTube (the one that plays when talking to Solas). Dark Solas Theme is the music when fighting Saarath and Lost Elf Theme is the music that plays during the epilogue slides.
At least half of the discussion in this thread is around the romance. I do not have any particular attachment to any character romance in any of the DA games including this one. It is just another aspect of the game that I enjoy because the romance reveals more of the character's personality and more lore.
I've seen a lot of posts hoping that BW do this or do that regarding the Solas romance in the next game. I get where this is coming from. Heartbroken Lavellans want resolution and some sort of happy ending. I just hope they do not shoehorn this just to appease fans. The character should not be defined by his romance potential/arc. If the romance is not contributing anything to the narrative or hindering great story telling, then BW shouldn't force it.
I have become very attached with Solas as a character not as LI. Solas is such a complex character I have rarely see in any medium. I hope that Bioware does not waste his potential to become an even greater character in the Dragon Age universe. To me, great characters and stories make the DA games memorable.
Ditto on Wynne. As well as on Orlais. Loghain was right all along.

Was I the only person who loathed Wynne right off the bat? I let her die last playthrough of DA:O, didn't feel hindered by it at all (Morrigan is an incredible battlefield controller if you spec her right, and if you kill things quickly enough, who has time for that healing business?). Battlefield usefulness is genuinely the only reason I ever drag her along. I find most of her dialogue paints her as an characterless old dear, with emphasis on old - that actually is her defining character trait, it's infuriating, I know absolutely no person above the age of 70 who actually talks anything like that. Most of her advice is patronising, or stuff that Alistair could have told me in a much more amusing/heartfelt way. I was tempted to skip most of her dialogue on my first playthrough.
I tend to become colder the more I play through games, though, which explains some of it. The first time I played through Origins, I was like 'lol Morrigan, wtf, you just want to leave Redcliffe to die?'. Now I'm like, 'well, you have a fair point, all those side-quests become a bit tedious after five times'. There's certain things I could never bring myself to do - I could never actually leave Redcliffe to its fate, for instance. So I tend to find myself warming to characters such as Morrigan over time.
I'm also agreed that Alistair does become more annoying on repeat playthroughs. I also find him far less engaging when I'm not romancing him? Like, I prefer him as an LI to a friend, where there are other characters who shine the other way around. You see more of his enduring sweetness & sadness as an LI, and get to understand how little he appreciates himself. As a friend, you mostly deal with Alistair as a Warden most of the time - which means repeat conversations about Duncan, really. I mean, I know Alistair's reverence of the Wardens was designed to be a flaw, but it's still a tad grating.
On Loghain, I have a slightly different perspective given that I played DA:O and DA:I only five or so months apart (last Christmas and last May respectively). I was always a little skeptical of some of the Warden's claims, and it seemed to me Loghain had some justification as Ostagar, so I never completely loathed him - he was mainly eliminating political enemies in a way that's typical of a fantasy/feudal setting - until the alienage arc. Even then, I probably would have saved him first time around (my first warden was such a redeemer/recruiter), if it weren't for the fact that she was romancing Alistair and he was like no. My opinion of Loghain has only improved really since then - after recruiting him, reading some of the pre-DA:O books, playing Inquisition, he is genuinely one of my favourite characters of this series.

I actually prefer Solas as a character (he is objectively a terrible LI, leaving someone for two years and then coming back to tell them, 'oh, I'm ending the world, you probably should stop me' is not something I would tolerate IRL), but it's worth considering that you learn far more about Solas by having him as an LI, you have far more dialogue and scenes with him, and that his romance arc is one of the most plot-relevant, compelling, dramatic, and just all-around feelsy romance arcs. There is a reason why many dedicated fans are also fans of his romance with the Inquisitor.
In honesty, this is a Solavellan thread as much as it is a Solas one.
OMG Feynite did my silly prompt OMG! http://archiveofouro...g/works/5201114

The third finally succeeded and saved.
