I've been all over the place lately. First blocked for days, then instead of fluff plot, I woke up with smut ideas left in my head when attempting to write fluff, after writing a raw draft of a chapter that is all about Nehn bearing witness to Nirwen's nightmare and essentially, the fact she's somewhat traumatized by everything, which sprung from thoughts I had after my last thing that developed into smut fic #2. After writing about them sweet and free and happy again, getting a little wilder than I expected, naturally I thought about Nehn seeing Nirwen affected by trauma post- Corypheus.

 

So that is what I've been working on, although it's supposed to be a later chapter in a timeline I have nothing else written but everything else planned, it's a lot of feelings and I may post it when done and then just insert it into the right place when necessary later.

Solas thread history update. Around the end of December 2014, and not much news to talk about, the discussion is now "what if Solas is Shartan and Shartan was rumored to be Andraste's lover does that mean Solas is the Maker?"    

 

Lots of interesting points are being made.  Some are jokingly pissed at Andraste.  "Solas if for Lavellan only!"  or "If my non-female elf Inquisitor cannot sleep with Solas then neither can Andraste!"      

 

In between these posts is a discussion about the similarity with the Solas tarot card and images of Christian Saints.

Hey, Varric is totally right.  The Deep Roads mostly just suck.  Descent was the first time that playing through the Deep Roads wasn't painful.

I actually haven't played that DLC   I own it, but haven't played it. I don't like the deep roads either, but Cassandra would take exception to the complaining

I liked those things too! But out of the tree of them, it's my least favorite.

It was my least favorite of the three DLC, but that's because I love the Avvar, and Trespasser was baller.  I rather enjoyed Descent; I suppose I've gotten in the habit of assuming that the Deep Roads will blow, so I'm pleasantly surprised when they don't.

I was happy with the DLC we got for DA:I, but then again I really liked both Legacy and Mark of the Assassin for DA2. JoH was visually stunning and managed to integrate many of the small side quests into the main story, and I loved that we finally got a real chance to explore the avvar culture.  Descent had more cinematics, which I really liked, and the music was amazing. However, I felt that the battles tended to become tedious instead of challenging and the total length was a bit short, not to mention that they just exchanged shards for gears. I therefore prefer JoH. Also, Ameridan was really attractive!

 

I loved Trespasser mostly because it gave us one last chance to interact with our friends, and I am happy for those that got sweet endings to their romances (Cullen and Sera in particular). The story was intriguing and there was a lot of lore to explore for those interested. And, of course, the feels! 

 

For future DLC I would want our companions to show more reactions to what we do (Descent barely even had new banter), and I would love for them to include more romance banter like they did with DA2's DLC.

Ugh, its my one day off and yet I still can't get any writing done. Shepard is growling at me and Loki and Solas are tapping their feet impatiently. I love you babies, I swear I'll think up more witty banter for you soon! ...or you know, eventually.

I would like this in the future, but part of me is glad they didn't do it in DA:I.  I'd be happy one moment for Dorian and Adaar getting additional cute banter, then hellspiralling over Lavellan all by herself

This basically began as a feels dump. It's more of a snapshot than any sort of plot, but I'll eventually incorporate it into the planned timelineI have but since it happened, I figured I'd post it.

Out of interest, how many of you have friends you can talk to about DA in real life? A few of you mention family/sibling/parent/child reactions to Solas at times, whereas literally nobody in my family even knows I still play video games, we usually just bond over sport or gossip. My brother played a few things in his teens, still plays COD time to time, but has no interest in RPGs.

I know a few people who played the Witcher 3, and I have a few school friends who I no longer talk to who play similar things - one os a big ME fan in particular, loves anything with sci fi or zombies, another I know is big into Lara Croft and old platformers. But I'm mostly on my own here really when it comes to games. All of my IRL friends are much more into indie films or theatre, really.

I actually have a small group of friends that I met in my ME3 MP playing days that I can talk to about BioWare games. We all have diverse interest in games, but ME and DA brings us together. I have two brothers that play, but neither of them are as passionate about the games as I am. It was actually really weird talking to a family member about the mage/templar conflict after he finished playing DA2 for the first time. I went on vacation awhile back to visit family and my other brother was only half way done with DAI so I had to make sure I didn't spoil anything while we talked about the game. I laughed when he told me he didn't like Solas because he was weird.

Still catching up but just wanted to anser this.

 

I only know very few people IRL who play DA whom I could talk to about. Basically my sister, her husband, and one of my former co-workers. My sister is big on DA but she's been so busy lately and hasn't played Trespasser so I could only limit my ramblings and conversations about DAI to the main game. Let it be known that I've been pestering her to buy the DLC so we could finally discuss things without me being scared I'll spoil something about it.

 

My brother-in-law hasn't even gone far in DAI (I think he's still in Haven) and doesn't really know much on most of the DAI companions (or at least their backstories) though he has played DAO and DA2. He knows I'm nuts about Solas because I won't stop swooning over shut up about him so I'm not sure if he knows that something might be up about him.  

 

I think my former co-worker was the only one whom I could talk about DAI freely without worrying about spoilers.

Does anyone else prefer the "Dread Wolf" track that was ripped from the game over the "Lost Elf" version in Spotify? The Spotify one has much better sound quality, but I like the ominous boom boom sound at the beginning of the game version. =/ I'm getting awfully picky about one piece of music.
