My mom just suggested I name the PC I built Solas. 2300 miles away and she can still read my mind. Damn you, Solas.

My friends still laugh at my Solas feels.

I was listening to the Trespasser and Descent album and feels, so many feels, and my friend was very amused after all this time.

This is why I come here. I can post "this is fine" comics and you all understand.

Actually, I hope there will be an option to make all the wrong decisions (even if Inky is still Solas' friend/lover) and watch him fall. By all means, I don't want the struggle to redeem him to be easy, even if just for the sake of drama and tension.

... What I also do hope is that all the people convinced of his fault and irredemability will have to struggle with categorizing him as a straightforward villain the more DA4 fills in the blanks in the story and provides more conflicts. Or that at least they'd have their "oh sh***, we f***ed this up!' moment later, just like with the decision to sacrifice the Chargers (and ultimately Iron Bull's soul) to the Qun "for the greater good" :P

The Shrewd Detective A Crime Thriller
by Cee

Mangled butts have been turning up all over Thedas and the inhabitants are scared. Ten murders in ten weeks, all committed with a sword, and still nobody has a clue who the flaky killer is.

Inquisitor Nirwen Lavellan is a bony and shrewd Templar with a fondness for tea. She doesn't know it yet but she is the only one who can stop the selfish killer.

When her lover, Solas , is kidnapped, Inquisitor Lavellan finds herself thrown into the centre of the investigation. His only clue is a round squirrel.

She enlists the help of a kind healer called Josephine Montilyet.

Can Montilyet help Lavellan overcome her lyrium addiction and find the answers before the oblivious killer and his deadly sword strike again?

Praise for The Shrewd Detective
"Inquisitor Lavellan is the best detective ever. A passion for tea and lyrium is something we all can relate to."
- The Daily Tale
"About as scary as a minute ant, but The Shrewd Detective does deliver an important message about the dangers of a sword."
- Enid Kibbler
"As always, a kind healer makes the best sidekick."
- Hit the Spoof
"I could do better."

Ugh, I think I need a push! Or a shove... or a smack! :pinched: I can't get on with my Trespasser pt, I just can't. It's ridiculous - I've spoiled myself silly, watched every ending video I could find on yt, studied wiki for the new codex entries, searched tumblr for gifs and whatnot... all this instead of actually playing through the story. I think I am too nervous :( I did start it a few days ago - managed to talk to some of my companions, then completely freaked out and quit! Been lurking here reading old messages and listening to the dark Solas theme since then

I don't mind Solas being a villain but I don't want to be forced into having him as one.  It would be like if Morrigan just went 'lol nope.  Evil!' at the end of Witch Hunt.

I never said I want to be forced to have him as villain - only that there were options that can push him in one way or another :)

Kinda like in DAI, really - make thoughtful decisions, gain his approval and you get a chance to redeem him. Mess things up, be short-sighted or unkind - and lose a chance to resolve things without killing him and who knows what else has to be done to actually kill him (lol, what if we have to ally with Evanuris or Old Gods to do this?? I can see that going well later! :D).

The Sex Expedition A Summer's Tale
by Cee

Nirwen Lavellan is a vain smith from sunny Thedas. She leads an ancient life. However, all that changes when Nirwen books a summer holiday to sandy Rivain.

At first Nirwen finds Rivain very green. Then there's the mysterious, creative cook, Solas , who makes her feel embarrassed.

When Solas invites her on a sex expedition, Nirwen begins to realise that Solas is a deeply talented and witty man.

Nirwen knows in her heart that Solas is the man for her. However, to secure her happiness, Nirwen must fend off the stingy pilot, Cullen Rutherford, who wants to get his claws into Solas.

Using her smooth eggs and a mutual love of painting, Nirwen sets out to snare Solas once and for all. But will the creative smith return her affections?

"Sizzling hot. I wish a mysterious, creative smith would fall into my life."
- The Daily Tale
"The dullest summer story ever written. How would smooth eggs and a mutual love of painting attract anybody?"
- Enid Kibbler
"I'm going to rush out and book a sex expedition."

I know.  I was more commenting on the confession I posted and agreeing with you.

It annoys me because a lot of the people who want Solas to be irrdemable are the same people who would throw a fit if Morrigan turned out to be evil.  Basically, it's fine as long as it doesn't affect the dudebro gamer.

Revas Lavellan is an aloof, slim girl who enjoys painting. She becomes fascinated by Solas who can stop books with his bare hands. She doesn't understand why he's so standoffish.

.... wat? :D Are books in that universe like this one?

The Curse of the Giant Sausage A Horror Story
by Nightspirit

Whilst investigating the death of a local doctor, a caring lawyer called Arwen Lavellan uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, giant sausage circulating throughout Thedas. As soon as anyone uses the sausage, he or she has exactly 70 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look shrunken. A marked person feels like a warped monkey to touch.

Arwen gets hold of the sausage, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a sizzling goldfish balancing on a moist doctor, an old newspaper headline about a hit and run accident, a hooded snake ranting about abs and a drinking well located in a wild place.

When Arwen notices her ankles have monkey-like properties, she realises that the curse of the giant sausage is true and calls in her lover, a computer programmer called Solas , to help.

Solas examines the sausage and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the sizzling goldfish balancing on a moist doctor particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Arwen and Solas pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded snake. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?

Praise for The Curse of the Giant Sausage
"This is actually pretty scary. I'll never be able to look at another giant sausage for as long as I live."
- The Daily Tale
"Oh please! There's nothing scary about a sizzling goldfish balancing on a moist doctor. Are we supposed to feel spooked?"
- Enid Kibbler
"The hooded snake really freaked me out."
- Hit the Spoof
"I hope Arwen and Solas get married."

Revas Lavellan, the Elf A Fantasy Novel
by Varric Tethras

In an aravel there lived a smutty, Hawkesque elf named Revas Lavellan. Not an elven Tevinter, lyrium infused aravel, filled with orbs and a cheese covered smell, nor yet a swampy, ancient, joyful aravel with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was an elf-aravel, and that means security.

One day, after a troubling visit from the dragon Solas Evanuris, Revas leaves her aravel and sets out in search of three Ferelden elfroot. A quest undertaken in the company of elves, dragons and Dalish nugs.

In the search for the dragon-guarded elfroot, Revas Lavellan surprises even herself with her magic and skill as a mage.

During her travels, Revas rescues a Lampost In Winter, an heirloom belonging to Solas. But when Solas refuses to try kissing, their friendship is over.

However, Solas is wounded at the Battle of Adamant and the two reconcile just before Revas engages in some serious kissing.

Revas accepts one of the three Ferelden elfroot and returns home to her aravel a very wealthy elf.

The Curse of the Broken Orb Of Evanuris A Horror Story
by Varric Tethras

Whilst investigating the death of a local Seeker, an elven mage called Revas Lavellan uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, broken Orb of Evanuris circulating throughout The Brecilian Forest. As soon as anyone uses the Orb of Evanuris, he or she has exactly 4 days left to live.

The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look drunk. A marked person feels like a worrying nug to touch.

Revas gets hold of the Orb of Evanuris, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a peculiar snoufleur balancing on a solid Seeker, an old newspaper headline about a magical accident, a hooded shade ranting about butts and a drinking well located in an ancient place.

When Revas notices her eyes have nug-like properties, she realises that the curse of the broken Orb of Evanuris is true and calls in her best friend, a Templar called Dorian Pavus, to help.

Dorian examines the Orb of Evanuris and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the peculiar snoufleur balancing on a solid Seeker particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Revas and Dorian pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded shade. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?

Closing rifts Like Two Bald Nugs

Dear Solas,

I cherish fighting all those demons, where we first met. The moment I clapped eyes on you, I knew you were going to be an educated really old man. Recently, I have began to regard you as much more than an educated really old man.

My feelings for you intensified when I saw you hunting in the moonlight. I was further wowed by your tremendous laughing skills.

You have shoulders like wet onions and the most affectionate butt I've ever seen. When I look at you, I just want to warn those wet onion shoulders and hug that affectionate butt.

You're so special with your brave ways. The way you handle your loyal sister shows great compassion and wisdom.

I know that to you I'm just a tired Dalish elf but I think we could be happy together, closing rifts like two bald nugs.

Please, say you'll be mine Solas!

All my love
Nirwen
