Usually I always play a mage (I admit I derive a deep satisfaction from raining fire down on my enemies!) but for Inquisition I felt that I wanted to try something different. Because I always thought that Legolas was one of the coolest fighters in Lord of the Rings (and I already had experienced playing a ranged character) I decided to play an archer. At first I really missed being flashy and fabulous, but in time I grew to love how much damage you could deal to a single target. With the Tempest specialization my archer became an unstoppable force of nature, and it also gave me a tiny piece of magic back.

I do feel, however, that the archer through all DA games has been a bit overlooked. In previous games the game-play for archers wasn't really that good, and during crucial cinematics for all games archers tend to revert back to dual wielding daggers (i.e. the fight with Cory's dragon). I also hope the next time around the archers get some kind of close ranged weapon, because I felt silly firing of my arrows straight in the enemy's face.
