Question is, what's the "better" solution he so vaguely hints at? Surely he has at least an idea if he can be so condemning about the Grey Wardens as going about it the wrong way?
So, going on old dreams: that implies that the Blight predates anything the Evanuris did. I'll have to chew on what that would mean about the world. Perhaps a huge cataclysm in the past destroyed a first civilization and the new one (the ancient elves) accidentally tapped into it?
Well... Solas accuses the Wardens of being desperate fools messing with forces they don't understand. And really... that's exactly what they did in Inquisition. They're struck with the Calling simultaneously, and instead of trying to contact other Wardens or finding a more feasible solution that didn't require them to murder half their men (And likely would've resulted in the other half being slaughtered in the Deep Roads before they got anywhere near the Old Gods), they just immediately jump to trying to kill the remaining archdemons. Without much plan as to how. Without concern for what it might cause. I mean - imagine if the Wardens had somehow succeeded in that awful plan. Not only would the last Old Gods be lost forever, not only would the Wardens be extremely diminished from their suicide run, but the Darkspawn, now lacking beacons to keep them underground, would surge onto the surface and cause an endless Blight. And the Wardens wouldn't have enough strength left to put up any serious resistance. It's a mess that Thedas really, really does not need right now. Or ever. So of course Solas would want it postponed as long as possible, and of course he'd be furious with anyone who seemed to be speeding it up. I was pretty ticked off, too.
Or instead of that, perhaps some care about the prospect of death and destruction that might follow from doing things to potentially destabilize the world, cause "raw chaos", and release the Evanuris who were so dangerous they had to be trapped in the first place.
Maybe caring about the lives that exist now, the people who exist now, and what might happen to them. Even if something doesn't cause total destruction, it can still be devastating. My mind goes to the two places hit by atomic bomb in Japan. They survived, people survived, life went on, but apart from lives lost, great destruction, effects of radiation, etc. Sure, the entire country didn't fail, and many people survived, but death is not the only possible outcome of traumatic or terrifying events.
Sorry, I didn't mean people who are opposed to Solas from a moral standpoint. Dropping the Veil might not destroy everything, but there are still moral reasons to oppose it. I was more talking about people who seem to think that Solas is a pathetic failure and the idea of him succeeding at anything is heresy to their ears.
Sorry for being unclear.

I've seen videos of what people are able to achieve with this and it looks pretty neat for a non-Cintiq device .. I already feel my hands itching to get back into drawing (sadly drawing on the pc bores me cause not seeing where I'm drawing and having to switch to keyboard and mouse just kills the mood for me) ... So I am expecting a lot of silly Solas sketches and stuff from now on
Maybe one day I'll have the honor of appearing in one of Capricorn's art posts xD

One group debating the age-old question of determinism vs. free will, as it has already occupied the greatest minds of philosophy and cognitive sciences alike, in the context of existentialism instanced by the Qun and related to real world examples of oppressive social systems. The other group discussing how Solas grabs Lavellan's butt. That's the Solas thread for you.
Too true. And I love it!

Wow.

I started not 'feeling it' so I took it slow for once. It took the longest in terms of the period it took to complete; I was only doing about an hour a day towards the end. May have taken 10-15 hours total.
Thanks for the kind words all! I'm not gonna be doing any more direct references like that for a bit. I wanna do a Merrill tarot and something with Isabela rolling her eyes
