Flirting Techniques - How male Lavellan flirts with his BFF and how he flirts with his crush. :D (Male Lavellan, Dorian, and Solas)

I love how he lowers his ears with Solas <3

I can't even think about romancing anyone else anymore, it makes me too sad. (Sorry, Cass.)  So ... I might as well romance Solas again.

I know... I was going to try romancing Josie or Sera (I might still do that later), but for now I need more Solas

Oh yeah and the bike ride was good! Went exploring in the local forest and sort of got lost (with my husband), a windy and warm day today (75F).

Does anyone else get the feeling something is wrong or you've not really finished after completing something that's taken a long while? I usually end up finding things I want to fix, is probably why .

I sometimes get to a point where....if I feel something is done, I have to post it or I will just edit my writing endlessly and hide it forever. So I sort of let it live, partly just so I don't do that. Though I have edited things after a time to fix or create consistencies.

but yes, a creativity thing. :)

I've already noticed something I could fix, but it's not too bad so I won't bother. I think you're right, unless it's inconsistent and very noticeable there's not much point in fussing when you're done.

Apparently Ameridan had a 'spirit companion'. Was that common back in ancient times? It made me think of Solas and Mythal.

I also found this and it reminded me of June ("In keeping with his inscrutable nature, Dalish elves train their minds with an insoluble wooden puzzle carving they call "June's knot".):

v654as.jpg

It gave me 10 cunning, a revenant appeared and this was said about it: "The box seems unassuming, but I'm told it works as intended. There's an enchantment to it; it attracted power before".

Well... Solas accuses the Wardens of being desperate fools messing with forces they don't understand. And really... that's exactly what they did in Inquisition. They're struck with the Calling simultaneously, and instead of trying to contact other Wardens or finding a more feasible solution that didn't require them to murder half their men (And likely would've resulted in the other half being slaughtered in the Deep Roads before they got anywhere near the Old Gods), they just immediately jump to trying to kill the remaining archdemons. Without much plan as to how. Without concern for what it might cause. I mean - imagine if the Wardens had somehow succeeded in that awful plan. Not only would the last Old Gods be lost forever, not only would the Wardens be extremely diminished from their suicide run, but the Darkspawn, now lacking beacons to keep them underground, would surge onto the surface and cause an endless Blight. And the Wardens wouldn't have enough strength left to put up any serious resistance. It's a mess that Thedas really, really does not need right now. Or ever. So of course Solas would want it postponed as long as possible, and of course he'd be furious with anyone who seemed to be speeding it up. I was pretty ticked off, too.

Sorry, I didn't mean people who are opposed to Solas from a moral standpoint. Dropping the Veil might not destroy everything, but there are still moral reasons to oppose it. I was more talking about people who seem to think that Solas is a pathetic failure and the idea of him succeeding at anything is heresy to their ears.

Sorry for being unclear.

Alright, but in the defense of the Grey Wardens: they panicked, they thought something truly horrible would be unleashed on the world because something was eliminating them. In a way, a preemptive strike at the remaining archdemons isn't quite so far-fetched if they thought that something was going to destroy their entire Order with one blow - who would defend the world from the Blight if not them? I'm not saying their plan wasn't stupid, but it's not without at least grains of sense.

As to the darkspawn overrunning the world... I thought the Architect's whole game was to free darkspawn from the Calling, i.e. they became just ordinary, conscious creatures with the full range of crazy to stoic like other beings. So wouldn't that indicate that without the Calling of the archdemons, darkspawn might just "wake up"?

I get it though, from Solas' point of view. Because he knows that what they are doing is reckless and why.

Freeing the Darkspawn of the Call and giving them sentience was (is?) the Architect's goal... but the whole issue in Awakening is that The Mother and her followers, once "awoken," all went violently insane without the archdemon's Call. So I'm guessing that, if even sentient darkspawn can be driven mad without the Calling, non-sentient darkspawn don't stand a chance.

It's possible that the Architect can work on a solution for that, but it'd certainly be a different situation then if all darkspawn just suddenly stopped hearing the Call.

Well yeah, as I said, they have the full range, including insanity. :D But the Architect did have quite a few successes, I mean, he manages to basically build a small army with free darkspawn that both support him and didn't go insane like the Mother did. I'm not saying it's a perfect fix, but the possibility is at least there - at the very least, the darkspawn would lose their cohesion as a single-minded group. I mean, the single thing that makes the darkspawn so incredibly effective and makes the Blights such a huge threat isn't necessarily the darkspawn themselves, rather that they work as one mass following the given archdemon and they rely on the archdemon's intelligence. But if there wasn't a single mind controlling them... divide et impera.

Well anyway, I'd be interested to learn what would happen if the Calling ceased - at least darkspawn can be killed, unlike the archdemon, so the GW's might only be needed in a regular soldiering fashion, being immune to the corruption.

I'll go back to Syndicate now.

Mini art post. :wizard:

First off, here's my finished artwork of Solas and Tala's first meeting! :D (Ignore the horrid background.) This took me way too long. xD

And now back to the regular art post.

Lavellan giving a sick Solas some herbal tea for the color palette meme.

GIF of puppy!Fen'Harel!

That looks so great! I know there is a lot of hard work and practice before you get that good, but is it wrong of me to still be jealous? I try myself sometimes, but they always end up looking like freak accidents (and this is absolutely not false modesty).

On Tumblr, there were people taking requests to draw your characters, so I asked them to draw Nia. (*this is a big thing for me because I am really shy about talking to people.)

..and so they did! :wizard:

They're amazing and I love them and really want to share! ^_^

Mini art post. (Not much art lately.)

Trespasser: WIP of Solas and Lavellan (with one arm).

And I'm sure some of us who chose to have the vallaslin removed would relate to this comic. Cassandra wouldn't stop asking about the removal of the vallaslin. :P

Thank you! <3

I'm not open for commissions but people have been asking me so maybe I might in future (after I've finished doing some of the giveaway art that I've been procrastinating on, that is).

Feel free to make a request though and I'll do it when I have the time. ;) At the moment, I think I'll stop working on personal art at and start working on the art I owe for other people. u////u

Arrgh... I've strained my back with exercises a few days ago and I'm still wondering when the discomfort will pass :/ Hard to focus on anything for a longer period.

Anyway - it's not that I didn't notice some vague similarities between Solas and Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender (the TV show, not the abysmal movie), but the more I think about it the more I realize that portions of their personal arc seem identical...  (not that I'm accusing Bioware for anything, mind you, just that the moments in character's journey seem similar).

Which particular parallels stick out to you the most? I wonder if it's just an archetype/tropey thing, because droso was comparing Solas' arc to Lelouch's from Code Geass, and the marked similarities she saw.

Currently enjoying rum cake and drunk history. Misery will have to wait! :P

I thought about making a rum cake this year but decided not to. I prefer to drink my rum  :P

I did make one years ago for Christmas when the whole family got together, it was a big hit. ^_^

Finally finished my Lavellan tarot:

<snip>

Now I'm going for a bike ride .

Fern this is absolutely beautiful! <3

Sunny, your art is so cute, I love it! Tala is so very pretty.

Thanks to the Clan Name Generator I have started an AU Solavellan. This one is a western set in an Alternate Thedas, there are going to be a lot of differences, and the plot is going to be very non-canon. A very fluffy romance with quite a bit of smut thrown in. But with a title of Glistening Desperado how could it be anything else?
