I am... a little amazed at that plotline.
Hahahaha but it's great! And here I spent all my time rolling my eyes at Pokemon, without realizing the hidden gems... ![]()

Most of the time Pokemon games are eyeroll-worthy. But the plots of X and Y touched on things like creation and destruction, redemption, extremely poor life choices, and a villain who used to be a decent guy and destroys a city on his way to global extinction. I was very confused at this sudden onset of "serious plot threads" in my Pokemon games ![]()
Side note: Since AC Unity keeps crashing my computer (and by extension my browser), and since I've never gotten around to closing the clan name generator page, I now have a "Daily Clan Name" thing going on.
....Sometimes an hourly thing, actually.
Regardless! Today's clan name: "Worthless Butchers"
Because butchering should be a pointless activity.
I've been inspired to go generate a few.

Oh, I can imagine.
I've had a few stories that confused me like that, they started out as meaningless fluff and then suddenly they dropped a boulder of heavy plot cream on top that left me frothing at the mouth. (I think the slice of pie I just ate is influencing my brain in strange ways.)

Brilliant! Now I'm inspired:
Even Pokemon gets in on this trope with Yveltal and Xerneas. And for how little plot the games have, IMO they did a pretty good job of describing the necessity of destruction, and the balance of the two. It doesn't hurt that the giant laser vampire phoenix of destruction is, in fact, the cutest thing who loves head scritches:
Yeah, I remember how Last Airbender was, like, all about the idea of balancing chaos and order (And just balance in general) instead of just eliminating the "bad" one. That was something I always really loved about the show.

And then there were the old Pokemon days of this (Spoilered for size):
*Sniff* Sometimes I miss them simpler times.
Hey there everybody. How are you holding up? Obviously you're still around. ![]()
I've played a bit of TES Online recently and though it's all that fantasy context and elves and lore and everything, all it did was show me how much I need a new Dragon Age.

Dragon Age helped wean me from JRPGs honestly. JRPGs was all every played. Well, almost all. After playing DAO and DA2, I could not get back to completing FFXIII-2. DAI is my favorite of the series so far. I am one of the few who actually enjoys exploring and questing and collecting stuff.

I know the feeling. I'm trying to plough through Tales of Symphonia right now for the first time. The storytelling is less an intricate weave of character and world building and more like getting whacked in the face with the exposition-brick.
My goodness have we been spoiled by Solas. I know the 'And the the bad guy was right beside you all along!' trope is pretty old hat, but I must have taken for granted how well Bioware pulled it off. Right now it is so jolly obvious I'm embarrassed for the already quite thick protagonist.
Art post.

I've played TESO for a bit. Got to the point where you had to join a group to do anything. Which, yes I know is one of the points of an MMO but my friends and I live in different time zones so playing at the same times can be problematic and waiting around for them to log in got ... boring. A friend also got me to try ArcheAge. I could not get my character to NOT look like a 14 yr old girl. I think my friend's character looks about 9 yrs old. Maybe we just chose the wrong race. I've also played FFXIV and that was fun for a bit until the friends I played with stopped playing. This tends to be one of the reasons I really enjoy single player RPGs like Dragon Age. More Dragon Age!

I'm casually playing ESO and some others from the forums do if you ever wanna meet up
.
I played AA, would play it again if with friends. The eastern people looked young, I managed to get mine looking a bit different:

That game had some fun.. I liked the dual-mounts and the horse animations. And the boats!
Me rowing my husband and 2 brothers-in-law
:
And yay 1000th post!
.
I remember joining the forums and my first post was about Ghilan'nain's scratched butt:
The statue representing Ghilan'nain has some sort of mark on its back. I thought it could've been a scratch or claw marks and therefore related to Fen'harel hunting the halla?

I tried to use only my donkey because it was the closest thing I could get to a pony
. I ride ponies IRL because I'm too short to ride horses comfortably (5ft1).

Yeah, no kidding - everybody is like "FALLOUT 4" and I just sit here and grumble "TES VI. WHEN, Bethesda!? D:"
I haven't even completed Skyrim yet. I keep getting stuck and then give up, or start with a new PC. Some of the fights make me squirm due to the intense graphics, I really hate the giant rats! One day I will finish it though! ![]()

I just finished Divinity: Original Sin, and I liked the game very much - it was challenging, funny, creative, and had a lot of content. However, there was one thing about the ending I did not like...
I bought Pillars of Eternity at half price during a Steam Sale for my fantasy RPG fix but I'm seriously struggling to get into it. I forget how boring elves are in other franchises. Any pointers?
I've spent a lot of this week catching up on a bunch of kids TV shows that I follow (guilty pleasures, no longer really care about my dignity), and have done a bit of academic reading. Gave up on NaNoWriMo eventually. Have been feeling quite ill recently and am seeing a doctor tomorrow about it.
Play a godlike instead of an elf?
They get some pretty interesting dialogue options, and you can play a godlike who has an elven build.
I took a break from Pillars because I was getting a bit sick of the uberdungeon, but I'll go back to it. IMO the game is not the best at introducing the setting, but it does have some highlights that make it stand out from other fantasy: the morally tangled pantheon of gods, and animancy. I'd say the game really started picking up for me when I started delving into Durance and Aloth's character arcs. Those two are each a microcosm of the major plot elements in Pillars.
And have a kitty hug. Hope you feel better soon.
