I bought Pillars of Eternity at half price during a Steam Sale for my fantasy RPG fix but I'm seriously struggling to get into it. I forget how boring elves are in other franchises.
If you're interested in Elven lore, TES Bosmer have an intriguing backstory and lifestyle.
- They only eat meat because if they take organic material from the forest they are condemned to the formless 'ooze' when they die.
- They cannibalize their enemies after they kill them because otherwise it would be a waste of food.
- When the Valenwood is in serious danger, they preform the Wild Hunt; a ritual that turns the Bosmer into their primordial ever-changing monster forms (which they were stuck in before Y'ffre gave them their current bodies, the 'earth bones'). When the Hunt finishes consuming its enemy, they turn on themselves and cannibalize.
So yeah. Bosmer are little, jolly, hardcore elves. Just the right amount of dark for me.
Anyway... random stuff: did anyone else found it funny that Abelas - a stern, collected and elegant priest-guard of Mythal fights with a comically large two-handed hammer, made out of dragon/dragonling skull, like he's some kind of savage barbarian?

I don't think it's Abelas! There are a bunch of sentinels dressed like that with a similar face to him, but I don't think it's him.
