Hey there everybody. How are you holding up? Obviously you're still around. :)

I've played a bit of TES Online recently and though it's all that fantasy context and elves and lore and everything, all it did was show me how much I need a new Dragon Age.

SIHA!

YOU CAME BACK!

:D

I bought Pillars of Eternity at half price during a Steam Sale for my fantasy RPG fix but I'm seriously struggling to get into it. I forget how boring elves are in other franchises. Any pointers?

I've spent a lot of this week catching up on a bunch of kids TV shows that I follow (guilty pleasures, no longer really care about my dignity), and have done a bit of academic reading. Gave up on NaNoWriMo eventually. Have been feeling quite ill recently and am seeing a doctor tomorrow about it.

edit, top I suppose:

tumblr_nye5kjKpm91u2v4o9o1_540.png

Three words: Godlike. Druid. Elf.

Okay, so I've never made it past Act I but that is amazingly good fun to play.  Druids are very versatile.

If it makes you feel better I got under 300 words into mine.

<3

As always, love what you enjoy. A lot of material aimed at kids still has so much to offer for adults, and it's a shame some people don't consider or recognize that.

I've had the latest Justin Bieber song on repeat today. I keep waking up to it so I danced around this morning and then have just given in and been playing it. I never got my NaNo novel off the ground at all due to how I was feeling but I will revisit it at my own pace. Sometimes you just have to take care of you. *hug*

I gave up the idea of guilty pleasures some time ago. I very much enjoy Taylor Swift at times. I went and listened to Girlfriend as well as several more plays of the Bieber song.

Funny enough, my head has been stuck in the Regency AU bunny cage, and this music is at least conducive to fluff.

It is Abelas in the final fight with whatever general you have. I have screens too. He does, indeed, wield a giant hammer (i reckon you can even check his name tag during battle?) and swing it around with surprising...priestly...grace. He runs off once the battle is over,  dashing on that wall of ice...

You know now you confused me. I'd check but I am still in Hinterlands on the last warrior. :P

If you're interested in Elven lore, TES Bosmer have an intriguing backstory and lifestyle.

  • They only eat meat because if they take organic material from the forest they are condemned to the formless 'ooze' when they die.
  • They cannibalize their enemies after they kill them because otherwise it would be a waste of food.
  • When the Valenwood is in serious danger, they preform the Wild Hunt; a ritual that turns the Bosmer into their primordial ever-changing monster forms (which they were stuck in before Y'ffre gave them their current bodies, the 'earth bones'). When the Hunt finishes consuming its enemy, they turn on themselves and cannibalize.

So yeah. Bosmer are little, jolly, hardcore elves. Just the right amount of dark for me.

Spoiler

*snip*

lol, I love playing a Bosmer. My Oblivion and Skyrim PCs were Bosmer. :P I think TES elves in general all have interesting lore. :)

Art post. :D

Okay, this artwork of Solas was apparently around for a year and I only saw it now (and maybe some of you already seen it) but I'm sharing it anyway because it's gorgeous!

Smooch your grim and fatalistic boyfriend. (Solavellan)

Good morning. Solas getting along with his new lizard friend (with Lavellan appearing on the second panel).

Solas and Dalish OC (not a Lavellan) holding hands.

Cole tells Solas of how Lavellan likes Solas' smile. <3

A gorgeous Solas doodle!

I'm sure someone else has figured this out, but I had a moment of epiphany this morning.

When the Inquisitor asks Solas why they're dreaming in Haven, he does the thing where he sounds like he's answering the question but he's actually misdirecting. The thing is, his real answer is hidden inside the misdirection.

"Haven Skyhold is familiar. It will always be important to you me."

Familiar locations play a big role in dreams. If someone saw one of my dreams set in my childhood home, they would know I'd been there for years of my life. I think Solas very intentionally steered to a non-Skyhold location so it wouldn't be patently obvious that he'd spent a long time in Skyhold.

Possibly. I just wanted the option to tell him, "No it won't," with regard to Haven. Some of my Inquisitors didn't give two sh*ts about that place and were glad to leave it behind.

The feels corner is an inevitability sometimes. I'm in the real life feels corner tonight and watching nature documentaries and still.

Oh, the feels came from elsewhere, but they lasted in spite of the fact I was watching programming on whales and dolphins.

Yes, when!?! I don't play anything else besides TES and DA so the next couple of years will be loooong.

Hubby is playing Fallout 4 atm and all I can think of when I watch him play are silly things like "When do you get to fix the roofs?".. "My god, look at the stains on the beds!"... I guess I really can't do post-apocalyptic games.

I really like the fallout world (and the music -Dion  ) but the plot was really dull when with a bit more effort it could have been great.

Playing ESO just reminds me how much I need a new elder scrolls game.

And there's my most favorite dwarf-loving Northern Irish dark side of the Moon! (sorry, that was low even by my standards)

Though I've never been a TES fanatic. I like the lore and stuff but the games as games (NPCs, my own character, combat,...) feel so lifeless and stiff. However, I've played ESO for about 7 hours now and I'm bored already.

SIHA!

Taylor Swift. She would be my guilty pleasure if I felt any guilt over it :P

I didn't even consider Taylor Swift as a guilty pleasure because zero guilt here.  I own two of her albums and love every track on them.  (yeah, I know as a feminist she's a problematic fave but I don't care.)

lol, I love playing a Bosmer. My Oblivion and Skyrim PCs were Bosmer. :P I think TES elves in general all have interesting lore. :)

My Morrowind character is a dunmer, my Oblivion character is a bosmer and my Skyrim character is the most atypical altmer ever.  She's a sneaky witch thief who doesn't give a damn about elven superiority.  She's also my most well developed TES character because Oblivion is on hold until after I get my modding issue worked out (I'm trying to install using the TES Mod Manager rather than the Nexus Mod Manger I usually use because a lot of mods don't work with that and it's a pain).

And my favorite British Doctor Who frien

:D

I think it stood out to me because when Solas is getting nervous or close to the truth, he says something true but with the pronouns swapped. For example:

"I You have distracted you me from your my duty. It will never happen again."
