Oh Flemythal is definitely using him i have no doubt. As to the other part, that's where it becomes muddled for me. He likes to omit things so yes 'they' did kill her, but leaves out the part where he let them .

 

Where I don't think this is exactly what happened, it is one of many different thoughts I have every time I listen or play DAI/Trespasser. Its great that a character can bring about alternate theories and have people unable to firmly side with one idea over another.

 

Unpopular theory time: what if Solas manipulated the situation, as in he agreed not to move against the Evanuris unless they broke their side of this agreement, so he manipulated them into killing Mythal, therefore giving him the excuse to destroy them utterly?

 

I don't believe this at all. I just tossed it out there. (Please don't kill me.)

Aww I made it on the list! Found out pencil tool is still my best friend (used to hand draw with pencils only...) colours are too elusive for me.

Lol. Yeah, I've seen that! Hysterical. His face when she shuts him down is freaking priceless. Omg, I love this cold, pissed-off Solas. *droolz* Makes me wanna say things to provoke him.

 

Hey, if you have low approval, and engages him, he also mocks you and makes snide remarks about your leadership skills. Plus, he'll zap you with your own anchor if you try to hit him. Lol. It's awesome.

This is just to say...I don't think it's that ridiculous. I think we're just not used to seeing men in pants that fit these days. Baggy pants have reigned supreme since the early 90s. The population also used to be skinnier, so tighter pants looked ok. My dad wore long pants that fit like Solas' green capri pants when I was a little kid. 

 

Now, the armor is of course a bit over the top, mainly because of the face knees. Maybe in the next game the models for the ancient elven armor will look more realistic (look less like a skintight cat suit) and we'll get a better idea of how it is supposed to be made. That happened with Commander Shepard's armor from ME to ME2.   

 

Lol. I would concur, but I'd be a hypocrite, too, because I don't romance Blackwall because of his beard. Plus, he looks old enough to be my dad. So like... I've a mod that removes his beard and he looks pretty good like that. Still too old, though, so no romance.

As far as Solas is concerned, I actually grew fond of him after getting to know him. Wasn't a fan of the bald look, but came to find it attractive cause I liked him. Is that weird? To suddenly find something attractive that you never thought was attractive before just because it's a trait of the character you're romancing?

I'm going to nth that this is perfectly normal. I wrote about this at length on this thread months ago. It is the main reason why I think the Solas was done so well. IRL when you fall in love with someone they become the most attractive person in the world to you. Every little thing about their physical appearance, their voice, their mannerisms...those little things sort of become symbols or signals for who they are and who they are to you. Things you once would have seen as Imperfections (scars, moles, chipped teeth, mega body hair, a lisp, whatever) become the details that make your beloved your beloved. When I was a teenager I had Ralph Fiennes posters all over my bedroom. I thought he was the bee's knees. My husband looks nothing like The English Patient, but if I could only see one face for the rest of my life then it would be my husband's.

 

If I had just judged a book by its cover then, no, Solas probably wouldn't have been my go to guy (even though I'm in the freckles fan club). None of the guys in DAI really tickled my fancy looks-wise. The Solasmance was just a natural progression. Bioware didn't make it easy to like him. He was even highly critical of the Dalish at the start, which probably turned a lot of players off. I didn't choose for my Inquisitor to fall in love with him. It just happened because of everything his character is. Now, I think Solas' character model is the most beautiful one in all of Thedas. I was relieved that they didn't give him hair in Trespasser. I've grown awfully fond of that bald head. A lot of care was put into Solas, and I fear it has ruined me for Bioware romances in the future.

See, I saw the crotch fur and immediately thought of a sporran. You know those little fur bags men wear over their "equipment" with kilts? I thought, "Well, isn't that a nice touch? Maybe the ancient elves were more like the Scottish."

 

Edit: The shoulder fur also has a Scottish feel to it for me. Also, evidently the Welsh wear kilts too. So yeah.
