I've been occupying myself by trying to learn pixel art spriting and game design in Gamemaker. It's tortuously slow going and... sometimes I get all caught up on the pixel art and ignore everything else. But I'm more engaged and inspired by the project then I've been with anything else in months.

After writing a bunch of things set in my Lavellan's past with her first love, I returned and somehow produced a prologue letter that I already linked in here and today I finished drafts of the next two chapters of my post-Trespasser fic. This involved a lot of Solavellan feels. It was an interesting juxtaposition between these timelines and the very different feelings in them.

Did someone say something to her or is there something I'm missing? I find that weird, because majority of people here seems to like her work and I don't recall being any drama material about it, other than wondering where her blog went and why suddenly she's blocking people/asking not to post here.
Not that I know of. We just stopped when asked. I think Sunny was blocked, or seemed blocked, but several people posted that she requested no more shares, and we stopped.
Also, someone here even helped her with a save file once.
I just find it confusing. Of all of the words this thread could be described with, "cruel" is the last thing that comes to my mind. I mean, unless someone doesn't mean it seriously 
She could talk to us if there's a problem. We're reasonable adults so unless someone from here is secretly bullying her (which I can't imagine) I don't really know what makes us seem cruel. I'm pretty sure everyone here has said something along the lines of "Her screenshots are the best." at some point. 
Sorry if we've done something to offend you, Solas-an. (I get the feeling she's shy and doesn't like the attention we give her...? Just a guess.)

Personally I find building characters for pen and paper games can occupy hours of my time, and not just because some of them take hours to build a character. To me there’s something kind of therapeutic about endlessly tweaking a character right up until play.
I do fortunately have a tabletop Pathfinder game (adapted for playing on the internet since the players are international) to help pass the time until DA4. And too many hobbies.
I find solace in the idea that production time may be a little shorter than it was for DAI since they probably don't need to switch engines again. Character creation should also be transferable. And character design for the villain is probably already done because of Trespasser? ^-^ Still a lot of story and plot to write, new characters to develop and design, new levels to design, new cinematics to develop, new voices to record, new music to compose, etc. etc. etc. though.
Edited to add: Plus, the new IP is certainly taking precedence right now. Do you suppose it will be a new sci fi setting since ME is done?

ME isn't done. They're working on Mass Effect: Andromeda right now. Supposedly it's releasing towards the end of next year ... I think.

I too assume that with dropping the old-gen, being familiar with Frostbite and tweaking the engine further (plus, I see that Mike Laidlaw mentioning traveling to Austin for work-related things - since Austin produced Descent, I assume it will not only be Edmonton now that works on at least portions of DA4. If they delegate some of the work there - perhaps map or level creation, maybe combat or enemies, they themselves could focus more on core gameplay and the story) might mean that the next game will either arrive faster, or there will be a lot of new stuff there.
Models and assets and animations they might already have from DAI, but I'd be surprised if they didn't want to tweak or remake at least some of them (*cough*HAIR!!!*cough*) - and then there's a question of what they'd do with the entire "Well, a lot of things point to Inquisitor making a rather significant appearance, and Inquisition being the organization that tries to stop Solas" thing... Because if they're going where I think they're going, the whole 'multiple protagonist' route would certainly be a tough nut to crack; I have faith that they'd be able to pull it off successfully if given time and resources, but I have a feeling it will cost them a lot of headaches along the way.

Maybe it will be a sci-fi, but not pushed so far into the future? Or perhaps it will be an alternate Earth, but with some magic? The possibilities are endless.
Okay, new chapter in my post-Trespasser fic. It was nice to finish this. I have one more I have to finish editing that deals heavily with Solavellan feelings. It was nice to be able to write in this timeline again.

Unpopular opinion time: it's not because of popularity. You don't use a platform built on sharing and likes and community and inherently popularity to stay low. If she had a personal blog, I might say it could be that case (but still, you're putting it on internet, publicly. People will share, and nothing can stop them. Sadly, people will steal too, but neither there one can do much.) Using Tumblr and asking people not to share is just plain...unwise.
But I'll let it rest. People have quirks. /shrugs
--Edit: I take it back. That person has issues. She blocked me from her tumblr although I have done nothing at all to offend her. We never even exchanged a hello besides her asking not to post her screens here.

I won't be seeing it until after Jan 4th. My fiance and I had a trip planned for early January so we decided we'd both wait until I was down there to go see it. We're hoping to drive down to Hollywood to see it at the Chinese Theatre, but it looks like it's not open after January 3rd until the 17th (more than likely they just haven't updated the websites after the 3rd aside from opening dates for other movies), and I'll already be back home 
. Plan B is to go to the IMAX in Irvine. The wait is killing me! And I am so scared it will be spoiled before I get to see it. I think I am going to have to go on a FB and twitter black out starting tomorrow for a few days.
I'm seeing tomorrow night with my husband, and we have ten tickets for Saturday to go with my grown kids and grandkids.
