So it seems the thread has settled down, it was kinda scary for awhile. A lot of people in here that weren't regulars in this thread in here. There is a huge debate about representation going on in the ramance thread. I think people would have had a better time of him being elf only if he was BI. I'm looking forward to seeing his Super story reasons for being female elf only.

Jeeze, I'm so attached to this group... Might be looking at my initial setup, particularly if we really do get them early... Eek. 

 

So it seems the thread has settled down, it was kinda scary for awhile. A lot of people in here that weren't regulars in this thread in here. Ugh... Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to stay away from that even if I'm bored.

And it's not because I don't care. I think me being upset has been pretty clear this whole time... but ugh, what went on in here this morning was just... bad. Real bad. I was literally this close to writing a goodbye post to you guys and throwing in the towel... I super don't appreciate coming into what has become my internet home and finding mountains of text addressing me as straight for sometime being in m/f relationships. But then Phate's elven artifact happened and I laughed 'til I cried from the amount of stress relief, so...

Seriously though, I have been thinking about how the flirtation opens up. At first, I didn't see him making the first move but he has been unpredictable, as of late (and they call Sera the wildcard? ha!) Also, he is said to be a badass so maybe he has no problem approaching the laydees.

I go between thinking his nature as a badass means he'd be willing to make the first move, but then his introverted nature makes me think he wouldn't really consider it unless it was brought up to him.

 

I am torn. I'm honestly okay either way, but I think it really depends on how the race-gating works, and if the romance trigger is part of the reason he's elf-only.

I agree with Phate, though. Is he badass always or just in combat? Oh gosh, what if he was super hardcore in a fight but then bumbling and awkward in conversations...? ajhdhfas.

 

And you know, I just noticed... in that PC screenshot... Well, now that I'm not so fixated on the hotbar, I notice that appears to be a different area? Certainty looks too green and dry to be the Fallow Mire. I wonder if there's some different and/or longer stuff from PAX? I'll be honest, I kind of lost track of it after all hell broke loose... But it's still going, right? And none of the blogs I follow have mentioned videos being up yet... So, here's hoping there's something interesting to see when whatever recordings that are gonna go up are posted...

And you know, I just noticed... in that PC screenshot... Well, now that I'm not so fixated on the hotbar, I notice that appears to be a different area? Certainty looks too green and dry to be the Fallow Mire. I wonder if there's some different and/or longer stuff from PAX? I'll be honest, I kind of lost track of it after all hell broke loose... Today is the last day of PAX.  They'll have videos up once it ends.  The soonest would be tomorrow.  It could be that it's not from the demo?  But one of the media types said they played a longer demo and ran around different zones, so it probably is somewhere else.

At least this thread wasn't as bad as a the Cassandra and Sera threads which both got locked and cleaned.

 

I do think a lot of the negativy came from Solas being gated and straight.

BACK TO SOLAS:

 

I'm really buying into the idea that Solas' hetrosexuality is just part of who he is, and the strict elf gating is what's important.  There was a theory a few pages back about it being connected to

The Masked Empire as the Eluvian network can't be walked by non-elves without them becoming ill. There was also loads of foreshadowing in that book for the return of anicent elves who surived thanks to Uthenera (as those who perfected Uthenera could surive wtihout food or water, providing no-one killed their bodies).

  Sorry, I cannot remember who first used that theory, but it's my favourite.

Because I've almost been traumatized by Shepard's horrible flirting, I'd rather not wish to disappear into thin air every time I want to romance someone this time, thanks   I'm really curious where the line of him being introvert kind of blurs and the scotch bonnet (for lack of a better word) side comes out a bit more, because I can't wait to see that and swoon all over it

There was a picture in one of the old romance threads that he did of Solas crying. I kept looking back at it when the fights starting coming silently saying, "I know man. I know that feel."

There has been so much terrible flirting in BioWare games.  I hope it doesn't reach Shepard levels of bad in DA:I.     Confession time: I will stop conversations/close the game multiple times before I can get through a romance dialogue out of embarrassment for everyone involved.

Haha yeah that's what I meant with hints, I'm assuming we'll have to choose flirt dialogue options to start it, but I'd like it not to be something like: "Hey Solas, wanna bang?" *romance initiated*
