Another gorgeous artwork by nipuni. Solas kissing Lavellan. ![]()
Trespasser Solas
WIP sketch of Solas and Lavellan kissing.
As for ideas... surprisingly a lot of them aren't Solavellan-centered, even though it's still there. The tone ranges from just silly, through uplifting to just 'I wonder how far I can push it to the dark side' xD Just some stuff that happens during the course of Inquisition, ranging from my take on the rescuing of Lavellan clan and going as dark as at least a few companions being captured by a particularly nasty group of Venatori - blood magic and nasty interrogation/experiments ensue. Solas may even end up liking tea, because the Venatori are awful hosts and may try and serve him something much worse ;D You hear that Solas? It could always be worse than tea!! It may be coffe!
I love this, you should totally write (or draw) something!
*commences enabling*
I decided that I wanted to make an artistic contribution to the thread, so I started making a demon-wolf cub in fimo clay... and it ended up looking more like this Swedish cartoon:
*Fail*
So cute xD reminds me of Sylvester (the cat who wants to eat Tweety xD)
I've finished my other drawing lol. Am a bit upset because after a day and a half I realized the app I was doing it on does not have a blur tool and the blending/smudge tools were terrible.. But it was too late to redo everything on a new app so who cares.
If anyone is interested it's here

Off I go to look for an app with fuller tools (I guess you have to fork out the $$ for those extra features.. U.U)
Yeah, I do see the resemblance to Sylvester, but this cat is nicer than he ever was. He is called "Katten Jansson" (literally "The cat Jansson") and he is a minor character in a very beloved Swedish cartoon called Bamse - The world's strongest bear.
I have so many fond memories connected to that cartoon! ![]()
Most of you seem so amazing at drawing and painting, and I thought that perhaps I should give the whole creative thing a try (I did have a lot of fun!). If I feel braver tomorrow I might post my poor little "demon-wolf" for all of you to enjoy in its epic fail!

I'm starting to notice the number of Fen'Harel statues are getting ridiculous. Solas must feel awkward. The Dread Wolf truly haunts the entire game.
I've noticed the wolves the first time I played - it bothered me to no end, since I had no idea what it tried to point to. There are just So. Many. Wolves.
And after the reveal I noticed even more of them! They were throwing bricks at our faces ever since the beginning ;P

I looooove that huge statue in EdL. I didn't even notice it until probably my 6th game. Turned around and there it was, big as life. I just wish you could get to it instead of running into an invisible wall that keeps you from getting too close. ![]()

Where is that in EDL? I've never noticed it, but cool find.

Cool, next time I'm in the keep I'll look for it. ![]()
You know, Solas in Trepasser isn't actually that powerful.
I mean, Petrify is a spell that both the Hawke and the Warden can use.
Solas should have done a Storm of the Century or a Mana Clash. Now that would have been epic.

I really do miss the varied spells from DAO. I can only hope that DA4 gives us more options than 3 flavours of elemental damager.
Actually what Solas does to the Qunari is more like what Sandal does to the Ogre in the Deep Roads; one uses stone and the other some form of crystal but otherwise the same. We never do find out how our blue eyed, innocent dwarf does that other than "not enchantment". What you could say is that the petrify spell that normal mages use is a watered down version of what the old fashioned mages could do. Plus I don't recall the Warden or Hawke being able to do this simply by thinking about it with their back turned. If anyone thinks Solas hasn't powered up considerably over the last 2 years they are kidding themselves. We have no idea what he may now be capable of. He doesn't have enough power to carry out his plan but it probably makes him pretty much invulnerable to standard magical attacks or physical ones. There was a reason the Evanuris were thought of as gods by people who generally were able to perform magic. Solas may not be a full evanuris but he probably comes pretty close to them in power, particularly now he has absorbed Mythal.
On a side note, the Evanuris seemed to have an interesting line in punishments for those who transgressed against them. According to Felassan's story about Fen'Harel hunting Andruil's halla without her blessing, her punishment was to tie him to a tree and require him to serve her in bed for a year and a day to pay her back. Not the standard sort of recompense you would expect. That left me wondering, if Anaris hadn't turned up demanding Fen'Harel's death, would Fen'Harel have bothered trying to escape, at least at first. Or was Andruil so terrible that being forced to sleep with her really was a punishment?
And more art (if my cat will let me post it)

I'm not taking it seriously, nor I've ever made it about you or anyone else liking, or not liking Solas - we make fun or criticize Solas quite often on the thread, while still liking the character. That was never an issue.
I'm just surprised that an off-handed comment that is more a statement on the sorry state of mages and templars can even grow to a tongue-in-cheek jab status, or people having kneejerk reaction to it, however slight or initial. Most companions acknowledge that they're at least above-average in one or another place in the game, and I'm yet to see anyone making it onto a jab - though I suppose their name isn't "Pride"... We really are just running in circles at this point, aren't we?
Taking the slightest things and analyzing them
Or they haven't. He can be a rare case where his elven genes where stronger then his human wish ended in a result of pointing ears and well elven looks...
