On a completely different note: I just found out that the voice actress who did the british female inquisitor voice also voiced a major character in Divinity: Original Sin. It's so weird to hear another character than my own speak with that voice. :D

I also didn't know that she had done voices in all of the DA installments so far. I guess I'm just bad at recognizing them.

Who? Now I feel stupid, I usually recognize their voices, and I played Divinity at least somewhere around 100 hours!

She is The Weaver of Time. I don't know if she always has been, I'm playing the Enhanced Edition and they hired new voices for that; though I don't know, if all of them were replaced or just some.

I've been playing the enhanced edition too. Can't believe I didn't recognize Alix's voice! Then again, I played it online with a friend, so I wasn't always paying full attention to the dialogue. I think I shall replay it when I'm finished with my current DA play-through, the game-play was amazingly fun!  :)

Well...I like Solas.  I like Benedict Cumberbatch.

I can't say I like the Cronenberg-esque Photoshop lovechild of the two

We haven't come very far in the game yet, but it sure is fun! I'm usually not into turn-based combat but since I'm not alone it is okay for me. (When I played the original version on my own I used a godmode cause I was frustrated so often...  )

My favorite feature is the dual dialogue (and that it is actually working now!) and I'm eager to see what changes to the story they made!

Mhh Solas Cumberbatch... No. Just no. I like Benedict as an actor and his face is interesting, as is Solas' - but both of them mixed... Nope.

I agree, playing it with a friend is the best way! I had loads of fun, and it was my second favorite game of 2015, next to DA:I of course. ;)

Aaah happy birthday Cap'n Sunny :)

Passing by to say hi, and to rant that Solas continue to make me cry and yet he's officially my favourite romance. I didn't expect that... at all.

My boyfriend and I tried playing it together.  But I have some CRPG habits that are hard to break.  And he's the most Lawful Good goodie-two-shoes to ever adventure, so my constant thieving got on his nerves :D  If I ever play it again, it'll have to be by myself.

So random thought that might or might not have been brought up before.  If they do continue with the Inquisitor instead of starting a whole new story how are they going to address the issue of her missing an arm?  Didn't they kind of write themselves into a corner with that?  A mage wouldn't be as big an issue but mine was a rogue, you can't really do a one armed rogue.

There IS the crossbow arm from Sera's Trespasser epilogue slide :)  Mine was a rogue too, but she was an artificer.  By the endgame, most of her damage came from traps and grenades, which are perfectly viable one-handed.

Either the devs intended to remove quizzy as an active adventurer, in which case missing an arm isn't that big of a deal.  S/he won't be doing any fighting.  Or they intend to bring him/her back actively, which means they've already got plans for how they're going to address the missing arm.  Prosthetics, magic, whatever.  Personally I would prefer the latter; I love quizzy, and I think it would be really interesting to have a canon disabled protagonist.

Considering that Inquisitors have access to most brilliant minds in Thedas I see no reason to doubt that they'd likely end up with some sort of spiffy, functional prosthetic arm.

Add to that the fact that we were supposed to get a disabled companion in DAI already - originally Bull was missing an arm and was sporting a prosthetic that was going as far in terms of crazy that it had a cannon built into it :D And Bull didn't have resources of Inquisition - you think Dagna, Bianca or Dorian wouldn't invent something even crazier or better? :)

In fact, if we assume that we're going to play Inquisitor (full-time or part-time) missing an arm is a good excuse to knock them down a peg in terms of power and start everything from lvl 1 in order to re-learn how to be a badass... because let's face it, at the end of Inquisition, Anchor or not, the Inquisitor was one of the most badassest badasses in Thedas.

Lol, it was the same when I played with my friend! He is such a paragon whatever he plays, and I'm not sure how but my character turned out rather morally ambiguous... and she stole everything she could get her hands on! It was a common scenario for me to shriek into the mic "I need backup now! They are trying to kill me!" and he would just sigh and say "What did you steal this time?". Sometimes I was a bit embarrassed about it and tried to lie, but then he would just point out that he could see everything I stole in the log (stupid log ratting me out all the time!). I'm pretty sure my PC was a kleptomaniac. :P Fortunately my friend is very patient with all my antics, he even managed to not be overly sarcastic when I asked "Why do the guards always attack me, I'm such a good person... oooohhh, a shiny!".

I'm pretty happy with how my character turned out, she is the first character I ever created outside of a Bioware game that I felt truly had a personality. I'm longing so much for the sequel!  :)

Although they would have to come up with something for those characters that hated Sera's guts and threw her out. *totally not my Lavellan, nope..ahem* The first time I heard about that crossbow arm thing was in this thread. There is no equivalent ending for someone who parted with Sera during Inquisition. Or at least as far as I know.

Regarding playing together with a friend / the boyfriend: It works fine for us mostly. We have quite alike mindsets so we both rob every house blind in the games where it is possible. The NPCs don't need that stuff anyway. And we need the gold. :D

That could be done pretty awesome with a prosthetic.  I just can't envision one that would be lore friendly in my head.  I most miss Sera's which is sad since I've played through twice and always keep Sera.

You are not alone!  I still get all growly at first when I see art where it is a totally different looking Lavellan from mine with Solas.  My initial reaction is inevitably "get your mitts off my Lavellan's man!"  :P  Also any and all sad images of him make my chest hurt from the feels still.

Yes, as soon as I finished Trespasser I was going, "Dagna! Make me an arm worthy of Mordo-....er the Inquisitor...*cough*"

Even without Sera I'd say most Inquisitors recruited Dagna, so she's still there.

I know this question is not too important but I think that having all of your input will help me.

When Solas leaves for good (whether it's after DLC and endgame or just endgame), how do you decide who to replace him with? Does it bother you?

When I did the Solas romance last year, I didn't care who was in the party as much and replaced him with Dorian since he shared my views.

Now that I am doing a male elf, I don't have the need for Solas but I want him in the party but the problem is that I could go for another companion who will stick with me to the end rather than doing a 2nd draft pick with 3/4th of the game finished.

In the Solas romance playthrough, my goal was just to experience it so everything else was just lighthearted decisions. Now, it's rough because I am already having trouble finding a romance for my male elf. A party configuration that shares my character's belief or at least agrees with my important decisions to feel like a cohesive unit.

Solas..you were my perfect elf mage comrade. Now, to figure out whether to invest that time or with someone else to the end.

All opinions welcome.. please help! :(

The companions all level up at the same rate whether you use them or not.  So there's no reason not to swap them freely.  You can even strip Solas of his gear before he leaves, and give it to Dorian or Viv.

If you're worried about the companions agreeing/disagreeing with your decisions while exploring, take Viv.  It's just my impression, but she doesn't seem to net much approval/disapproval for the stuff you do out in the world.  It's quizzy's judgements and political plays and major decisions that really swing her approval one way or another.
