So was I! I remembered the first time I ended DA:I and heard Flemythal call Solas 'Dread Wolf', I was stunned. Shocked. Flabbergasted. Solas, the hobo apostate elven mage who was with us all this time was actually Fen'Harel the Dread Wolf of Dalish legends! If she called him 'Solas' during the epilogue, I'll be honest, it probably wouldn't have given me the same impact than if she called him 'Dread Wolf', and I probably wouldn't be as hyped up about the DLCs compared to what we got now. Though I'd still be interested in wanting to know what the hell was going on with him.

 

Though I imagine if Bioware did go with this route, with both the player AND the Inquisitor being in the dark about Solas' true identity, finding out that Solas is Fen'Harel during Trespasser also sounds pretty fascinating.

 

That's just me though.

I don't thin they planed Trespasser than they made after credit scene. So it's understandable why they used Dred Wolf. But still Solas would worked better so much fuel for speculations. And than bam Trespasser, wait Solas work for elven god  NO Solas is elven god

Dread Wolf has more dramatic impact than Fen'Harel I think. Back then I had a couple people say to me but who is Fen'Harel?? (lol. Either new to the franchise with DAI or the type that didn't pay much attention to less prominent lore, which Dalish legends were prior to DAI. Oh and one guy who knew but had forgotten). For that kind of person "Fen'Harel" is just some elfy bla bla (cue Sera lol). They didn't know what "Dread Wolf" was either to be sure, but at least its in English and clearly sounds ominous, threatening and punchy.

I do like as well the in-universe reasons people in this thread are putting forward for why she'd call him DW. Very nice.

Deacon I'm guessing? At least he's upfront about being a pathological liar, or at least it's easy to figure out as much pretty quickly. 

 

Idk, for whatever reason I found him to be the most useless companion ever, he just always tended to let me down in fights. I guess we came to an understanding eventually though. He'd go hide somewhere while I get mauled by whatever mutant abomination the wasteland felt like regurgitating at me that day, then he'd make a snarky comment while I was looting, then I'd give him a swift rifle butt to the face. It was all good.

Deacon is my main companion.  He suits my playstyle perfectly (except his dislike of chems, but since I gain approval by doing everything else I'm fine) and once I gave him a custom sniper rifle he's been holding his own in combat.

 

I've shot him too many times to count because he has a bad habit of appearing suddenly dressed in a new outfit.  Damn that man and his disguises.

 

His perk is the best in the game for a stealth build.

So! I have a new and shiny apartment and a not-so-shiny-maybe-will-fall-apart nice car! And no internet connection... yet. I'm also kind of heartbroken, but OH WELL. I'm used to it. Other than that, everything is fine and dandy. I'm still alive! I also started a poetry-instagram thing! And I've been super busy with all kinds of projects!

 

That was my news.

 

So, I see that hundreds of pages have passed again, what have I missed? Any spare blankets? Got news? Is Solas still an amazingly wily elf? Yes. (Don!t worry. It was a rhetorical question.)

I got DAI Cinematic Tools. I figured out how to use the flycam, but for the life of me, none of the visuals effects seem to work. I keep adjusting all the lighting, colors, gaussian blurs, etc and nothing is happening!!

 

It's hard to control the flycam, and the characters kind of glitchily jump around if you attempt to flycam cut-scene conversations.
