Hello Solas thread, I replayed Trespasser's epilogue and cried a lot so I decided to fix it for my Revas Lavellan ![]()
My first ever official Solavellan fanart ![]()
Ooooh, if only...
I really liked Morrowind's story. Of course, subsequent TES games were a little lighter on content, but Morrowind was great - learning about the Houses, the Tribunal, Nerevar and the Nerevarine... Perhaps it was because Morrowind was my first TES, but I was enthralled.
I would agree that the attraction of TES games is different to DA games. It's enjoyable just wandering around immersing yourself in the beauty of their world and Jeremy Soule's music. I also like modding my game, and tailoring it to my specific tastes - I think I spent almost 3 years playing around with the Creation Kit. It's all very geekily zen for me. I play TES when I want to relax... whereas with DA, it's quite the opposite, isn't it? It's all intensity, tears and emotional ravaging.
If there was just one area I think Bethesda could improve on, I'd pick relationships. Skyrim's story and quests, while not the most exciting, were adequate, but follower relationships were woeful.
Btw, I rather liked the move towards open-world in DAI; as much as I loved DAO, it did feel a little constrained to me, with no reason to leave your current quest area other than looking for fresh banter spots. I think I would appreciate TW3 style of open-world in the next DA, where there are legitimate reasons to visit/revisit different areas (though I have to say that's probably the only thing I really like about TW3).
[Edit: Gah, how did that get so long. It didn't look quite as rambly when I was writing it... Sorry about the rambliness...]
I'd love to play Morrowind but it's just so clunky. I'm waiting for Skywind to finally come out.
Btw .. I have not completed Fallout 4. I think I wandered around and found most (if not all) of the landmarks. Then I got bored. I've been playing my Cassandra-mance playthrough but it feels kinda weird. The male British VA seems a little flat sometimes. I feel like Alix Wilton Regan put more emotion into the lines. Also, I keep looking for the heart options when talking to Solas and then I have to remind myself they won't be there b/c human and male.

The main quest is actually pretty short.

I actually highly dislike the Witcher's method of visiting and revisiting. Or, well, if my earlier comment didn't give it away, I haven't gotten too far in the TW3. So I'm mostly just at the "visiting" stage, which involves a lot of the "raging at monsters and quests that I'm drastically under-leveled for because I hate it when developers put content before me that I'm clearly not supposed to enjoy (yet)" stage which, in addition to having an extremely unwieldy title, isn't a stage that I'm too fond of.
At least in Skyrim when I hit content that I'm not leveled enough for, I can just abuse one of the game's many glitches and gamebreakers to get by. But can I do that in the The Witcher 3? Nope, because apparently this is an "action RPG" and not a "makeshift medieval stealth game." The damn griffons notice when I sneak by to steal from their random treasure chests.

Is the next DA game announced yet? ![]()
Now I have this elaborate headcanon that Charter realizes the gremlins are people too, but instead of getting killed by Solas she defects to the (former) Inquisition. Please, Bioware! This post on Charter was posted to the DA Writing blog: http://dawriting.tum...-what-kind-of-a

Dunmer all day everyday.
I hope house Redoran can make Morrowind great again, they need to build a wall, and make argonia pay for it.
I think they're still up to their pointy ears in debt from the last giant wall they built... ![]()

I love all the supplemental stuff they give on the side characters in World of Thedas 2, like how Finn and Ariane are still traveling together, and Finn has to go to his overprotective parents to stop them from sending bounty hunters after him. Also, the letter to Leliana's friend Sketch, who I think is definitely working for Solas.
I love Charter. Not only is she privy to pretty much every secret in the Inquisition, but (even if she isn't an ancient elf or working for Solas) she had a lively career as a spy well before the Conclave. She also hooks up with Scout Pellane if you follow their conversations in Haven, and tells him to take a bath before he comes to see her. ![]()

Did they build the Ghost Fence? I thought it was made and maintained by the ALMSIVI's... force of will, or something.

I'd laugh so hard if it turned out that the "black hart" she was seen riding away into the sunset after a job well done turned out to be Fen'Harel's wolf form ![]()
Lavellan (throws knives with her eyes at Charter): "What do you mean you rode Fen'Harel?"
Charter (flails her arms before her face and sweats slightly): "Um, no, not that way!"
Lavellan: "Then wha-?"
Charter: "It's a long story..."

Where there's a will there's way, and Almsivi's way was, er, the bones and souls of the Dunmer dead. En masse.
It's called the Ghostfence for a reason, I guess? I don't think Vivec ever took Marketing classes... ![]()
I always wished we could have had more questlines involving Charter and Leliana's spy network. ![]()
I wish a lot of the war table missions were actual quests. Stuff like the Sutherland chain.
Go help Zevran. Go shoo Sebastian away. Go help Rhys and Evangeline. etc

Sutherland! He's so freaking enthusiastic, it's cute. It's hard not go running after them the minute I find out they're in danger. It's like I'm saving someone's gaming group. ![]()

I'm just picturing Varric's banter if you bring him along for the Angry Sebastian version of the quest.
Art post.

(How the heck does she finish one beautiful artwork after another so fast?!)
Another Solavellan artwork based on Gustav Klimt's The Kiss. This time, Solas has hair.
Lavellan and concept!Solas.
(Okay, the artwork is gorgeous, but honestly if the artist didn't state that this was Solas, I wouldn't even know this was him.
)
"Still she searched, and dreamed, and waited, for a way to change the Dread Wolf’s heart.”

I trust Charter. I think she's loyal to the Inquisition.
And I want to her to come back as an LI in DA4.

I'd go help Seb rebuild Kirkwall. Be nice to see the city again.

I like him, but no annexing. ![]()

Ok Fade question for y'all. I don't think this was addressed in the master info thing on the Fade or if it was I just didn't get it, totally possible. Anyways, can Solas actually manifest things in the Fade as a dreamer? Can all dreamers manifest things in the Fade?
For example say, for whatever reason, Solas decided he wanted his desk and chair that is in the rotunda in Skyhold with him in some part of the Fade. Would he be able to create it there? Is there a limit to what an accomplished dreamer can create or do they essentially have as much control as a spirit would?

A powerful Dreamer can reshape the Fade to their wants and desires. Since Solas is potentially as powerful as an Evanuris, I'd say he can do whatever he wants in the Fade.
I have a thought - Typically RPG games follow a Rock, Paper, and Scissors pattern of gameplay with regards to the classes. By this I mean Mages beat Warriors, Warriors beat Rogues, Rogues beat Mages. This is to create a balance between the core trinity of classes. Now that we have established that, we known that a Rogue is best suited to take out a Mage, due to Stealth and Sneak attacks.
So would it be possible for a Rogue archer one-shot kill Trespasser Solas with sneak attacks ? I mean if he does not sense you coming, he cannot petrify you right ? & arrows move too fast for mages to react to it anyway.
