A powerful Dreamer can reshape the Fade to their wants and desires. Since Solas is potentially as powerful as an Evanuris, I'd say he can do whatever he wants in the Fade.

I have a thought - Typically RPG games follow a Rock, Paper, and Scissors pattern of gameplay with regards to the classes. By this I mean Mages beat Warriors, Warriors beat Rogues, Rogues beat Mages. This is to create a balance between the core trinity of classes. Now that we have established that, we known that a Rogue is best suited to take out a Mage, due to Stealth and Sneak attacks.

So would it be possible for a Rogue archer one-shot kill Trespasser Solas with sneak attacks ? I mean if he does not sense you coming, he cannot petrify you right ? & arrows move too fast for mages to react to it anyway.

Possibly?  We don't know exactly the extent of Solas' power - can he sense other living beings?  Does he have some sort of magical defence that would kick in on attack?

He could but magic, no matter how powerful, has limitations. If he has a spell that can sense living beings, I am sure it has a radius and as for magical defense, you use enchanted arrows that interrupt spellcasting like the Andraste arrows from DAO.

Funnily, thinking about how one could possibly take down Trespasser Solas as a Rogue reminds me of Batman fighting Superman in the Dark Knight Returns. A mortal versus a god.

At the moment we don't know much about the kind of magic Solas has.  We'll probably find out in DA4.

'The Moon'. Beautiful Solavellan tarot card by nipuni.

(How the heck does she finish one beautiful artwork after another so fast?!)

tumblr_o30pceZiRX1rocg83o1_1280.png

I do not know. Does she even eat or sleep? it looks like she's producing one drawing every 2 days or something like that...

Plus this is a problem for me   :D  I like to put Solavellan art as my phone background. Mostly from Nipuni these days, but sometimes from others too depending on what I find (*cough* I mean, what Sunnie finds for us *cough*).

But since saturday I've already changed wallpaper 3 times so this is becoming a bit out of hand XDDD I don't get the time to get used to a nice wallpaper that a new art is released and I'm like "oooh, this is good!".

Now for instance I would like to put this one, but just yesterday I set the one with Solas carrying Lavellan into the Eluvian D:

Something tells me I need to find an app that cycles between wallpapers for Android XD

Was listening to a song and these lyrics hit me hard in the feels.

‘And one day
I woke to find
The future had no place
for me
I was unwanted in a world
that with my hands I helped build
Where once was honesty and pride
I now stand broken and alone
Just a shadow
of what I was meant to be’

Taken from this song : https://youtu.be/nCUHClheiZk' class='bbc_url' title='Lien externe' rel='nofollow external'> https://youtu.be/nCUHClheiZk

Back to lurking. ;)

The number of VNV Nation songs that fit Solas is startling, isn't it? <_<

I love VNV Nation.

I actually highly dislike the Witcher's method of visiting and revisiting. Or, well, if my earlier comment didn't give it away, I haven't gotten too far in the TW3. So I'm mostly just at the "visiting" stage, which involves a lot of the "raging at monsters and quests that I'm drastically under-leveled for because I hate it when developers put content before me that I'm clearly not supposed to enjoy (yet)" stage which, in addition to having an extremely unwieldy title, isn't a stage that I'm too fond of.

At least in Skyrim when I hit content that I'm not leveled enough for, I can just abuse one of the game's many glitches and gamebreakers to get by. But can I do that in the The Witcher 3? Nope, because apparently this is an "action RPG" and not a "makeshift medieval stealth game." The damn griffons notice when I sneak by to steal from their random treasure chests.

Ha, there was quite a bit of cursing and reloading for me for the first, oh, 30-40 hours of the game.

I don't play stealth characters in Skyrim (I love going in with fire and lightning) but I saw my husband play his stealth archer and the one-hit stealth hits were impressive.

Just listening to this:       and oh, how it reminds me of Solas, especially this few lines:

i prefer to be an angel
....
always on the run
capture souls and dreams and voices

...

branches round the past

but i am joking i'm a daemon
angeldaemon begging
begging you to trust

...

sky's emerging tumors

tumors waves and stars
captured beings all exhausted
sky's a virgin phantoms
phantoms all of us

....

Impressive? More like completely ridiculous. I beat Miraak by crouching. Just... tucked myself in a corner of the map, shot him in the face, crouched, shot him in the face, crouched, shot him in the face...

It's even worse in Oblivion, where you can wear five pieces of armor, each with a 20% chameleon enchantment, and become completely invisible no matter what you do - even if you attack, the enchantment's maintained (Because it's chameleon, not true invisibility) but remains so high it's impossible for anyone to detect you. I ran around great axing people into the floor and they dismissed it as "just the wind." While I was leaping around and grinding up my acrobatics skill.

And that's how my Hero of Kvatch became a jumping invisible death lizard.

Lol!

I loved Chameleon - it saved my sanity in the Planes of Oblivion, couldn't imagine having to fight my way through all of them.

Ok Fade question for y'all.  I don't think this was addressed in the master info thing on the Fade or if it was I just didn't get it, totally possible.  Anyways, can Solas actually manifest things in the Fade as a dreamer?  Can all dreamers manifest things in the Fade?

For example say, for whatever reason, Solas decided he wanted his desk and chair that is in the rotunda in Skyhold with him in some part of the Fade.  Would he be able to create it there?  Is there a limit to what an accomplished dreamer can create or do they essentially have as much control as a spirit would?

Considering that he basically recreated Haven during his and Inky's trip through the Fade? I'd say yes.

Did he really recreate it? I interpreted it more like they visited the memory of Haven in the Fade.

Not that he can't shape the Fade if he wanted to. He probably can. If he can create and destroy the Veil, conjuring a few chairs shouldn't be a challenge :D

Revisiting memories likely plays a big role in how recreates things in the first place. Plus, don't forget that the recreated Haven that had a Breach that was fully open (like in the prologue) - with pillar of green light shooting to the sky and so on.

I always liked getting the quest to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, sneaking in there and assassinating the assassins ... and they never even knew I was there.  It just makes me smile.  I might be a little disturbed.

I still facepalm at myself when I remember the first time I went through the Haven Fade scene it totally did NOT occur to me that hey, the Breach is closed and Haven is destroyed something is weird here.  I tend to be incredibly unobservant at times.

Nah, something similar happened to me as well the first time I've played - I've noticed that 'hey, the Breach is open  ', but through most of the scene I was more like "oh hell, did I forget about some interaction with Solas in Haven or something?". I totally thought that the game just broke continuity at that time :D

I like that quest we get in Solitude - the one where we get to run a cargo ship aground and then we get double-crossed. We can then go to their hideout and kill them all for it. I usually like to play stealthy magic archer, so I hide on the top spot, where I have a good view on their base, cast some rage/frenzy and a few fire spells and just shoot them like ducks from stealth while they run around in utter chaos... it's funny, because I usually avoid being just plain cruel in games, RPG or no, but I always cackled maniacally when I go to get my revenge

You know, I think that's because she draws so often the same subjects? I think that what actually takes time in my personal drawing process is the "research" part... Need one thousand references of Solas of all angles, etc etc etc. If you draw the same character often enough you don't need to do it again and it's cutting a good part of your drawing time. Also more experienced artists like her might probably master their process well so it seriously cut time. When you don't have to figure out ten times who to do that step... :D

No kidding - I haven't yet finished any picture of him and my ref folder for him has like 1,500 images, if not more (I always do that - my ref folders are HUGE). But once we actually 'code in' the subject of the drawing (be it someone's face, or hair texture or whatevs) into the brain, it gets much easier.

After you're kidnapped by Astrid don't kill one of her victims - kill her instead.  Then go report this the Imperial guy in, uh, Dragonbridge?  Then you get the quest to take down the Brotherhood.

ir abelas tel'abelas I keep derailling this thread onto Skyrim.

Uhhhhh... Solas' butt.

On the topic of Dragon Age...

Is it just me or is Necromancer much stronger now with the introduction of toggles in Trespasser DLC ? Horror is now a good CC spell. Spirit Mark goes great with Static Cage for magical pew-pewing. Bioware apparently fixed the bug where Walking Bomb was not doing the explosion damage advertised in the tooltip and now its doing the advertised explosion damage, Couple all this with the mana regen upgrade for Fade Step as well as Simulacrum Heal on Hit / Heal on Kill combo and I would argue that Necromancer is now the strongest caster specialization in DAI.

On the other hand, Rift Mage is still not very good because of the Shock-Weakness bug that makes you lose your Restorative Veil mana regen and Giants are immune to Weakness.

Ah well, time to be a Death Mage. Leave the Rift Maging to the Egghead.
