What's your point? DAI is already pretty darn inclusive, that's its not catering to someone's specific whims is in fact their own problem and I stand by my statement. If you want to talk about the games industry at large that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Nope, no blog yet //sigh.

 

Hoping now that pax is done we will get it up so we can finally be done agonizing over the last LI. Also, for the if Solas had hair, I'd love that mohawk ponytail we saw him in the concept art with as well. xD But I don't mind him being bald now, just hope he has hood for headgear because that would be awesome!

Seriously. I am tired of these posts. People are allowed to be sad about Solas. It still relates to him, you see? You telling them that they're not allowed to feel their own feelings? It doesn't. So save it. We don't need your kind of defending. I think most of us here would prefer to try and make people feel better, and try to help them find something to look forward to again. So if this gross and unwanted hostility is all that you're going to "contribute," then might I suggest you hang out in the romance thread instead, thanks.

 

As for Solas and vallaslin... Hm, as much as I like the idea of it, I don't know! My first thought was Dirthamen... but that might just be my brain whining at him for being so mysterious, heh. "TELL ME YOUR SECRETS, YOU NERD! [fist shake]"

Yeah, just a little friendly reminder that it's really not cool telling (especially trans) people that it's their problem if they don't feel comfortable playing as a certain gender. Race/class is one thing, but having to play as a gender that invalidates your identity is a whole different matter.

It's a video game.

I get what you are saying with that. I tend to prefer games where I can play as a female, but it didn't take me long to realize that when I can play as my own gender that I then find it fun to go back and play as a male character, or a different race than the one I prefer for my main character. My canon for Origins was a female Dalish elf, but my favorite playthrough was a male Brosca who never learned to keep his fingers out of other people's pockets. Never in a million years would I have thought I would enjoy the game as a male dwarf, but it certainly opened my mind and broadened my worldview.

 

It really isn't that we are being forced to do anything, though. We have the option to make a particular character to see another part of the story we otherwise wouldn't, and that's true for any romance arc. It's also true of the main story, depending on the race we play and the choices we make.

 

my second canon warden is a mel Brosca too!  I had so much fun with him...flirty and funny, but so cutely in love with a jelous Morrigan 

I still don't know if I like more the warden I crafted or Morrigan being in love with him! (those two where so strange and cute...they tempt me to create a dwarfette for IB....)

 

I was hoping for no tattoos as an option.

HeyYyYy, I'm reading it now, too! It's like we're all reading together.   I'll probably get back to it once I've woken up more and get some coffee... Apparently it kicks in at chapter five, so I'm going to make a push to get there before I drown in the staleness of Orlais...

Agreed! While these are some cool hairstyles (I love anything with shaved sides, hah) I'm just like... "[wrinkles nose]" when attempting to imagine it on Solas. Him being bald never bothered me in the first place, though... but now it's just... weird.

Too bad I can't have my character be one who had the ritual done to them by having them held down while they kick and scream.

And I never got why bald elves make people "queasy", as someone on the Raptr q&a put it. I grew up with half the men in my family bald, and I'd lay my hands on their craniums if I was cold - so I don't see an issue here! Free hand warmer! XD

I'm having a hard time picturing Solas with hair, I think ive gotten so used to him being bald. Which in itself is kinda cool cause I was a little surprised by the baldness at first.
