Anyway it struck me that having Arcane 5 would suit Cole perfectly.  Though he might actually prefer to be noticed...

Wraith wasn't so much as depressing as...really twisted with our group. We never let anything get boring, I'll definitely say that. But we did all prefer Vampire. (I've never played any of the reboots, either. I still want to go back and play Vampire and Wraith again.)

I preferred Changeling overall, with some Mage.  They were marginally less depressing lore-wise.  I figured Solas, seeing as he's sort of proud to be an elf and a mage, would be Sidhe all the way, same reason Dorian would be all about the Mage (can't remember the groups, alas). Vivienne strikes me as being more flexible.  She'd avoid Sidhe because elves are obviously not fashionable in Thedas; otherwise she'd be right there with Solas.  So she'd probably lean Toreador or Tremere or Ventrue.  I went with Ventrue, because of their power--a Chantry mage wouldn't approve of Tremere blood-oriented thaumaturgy.

 

I didn't ever play Shadowrun though.  Or Exalted.  Or D&D. My knowledge is sorely limited.

Solas leans against a tree, a thick bundle of paper piled on his lap as he writes.  A second, smaller stack of paper is haphazardly stacked at his side covered with references and footnotes.  Varric walks up and peruses his work.

 

Varric:  What are you doing, Solas?  At this rate you will cause the deforestation of half of Orlais.

 

Solas: I am attempting to write a dissertation on the nature of magic.

 

Varric:  I'm pretty sure I remember you saying it couldn't be defined.

 

Solas:  That was before the Inquisitor discovered all the banter triggers. 

 

Varric:  Oh, yeah.  I wrote "Wicked Wardens" while I was waiting for my turn in the last area with more than one trigger.

 

Solas:  And you don't even have to wait.  She always saves me for last so she can "squee"  every time I say something.  I could recite the entire Litany of Adralla and the whole of the Chant of Light and she would stare at me the whole time as if I was revealing the truth about the Black City.

 

Varric: You know the whole Chant of Light?

 

Solas: sigh

I never branched into the others. Just those two. Also, DnD, much love there. Now I really want a new tabletop game going...lol

 

*edit: Oh, and yes, I absolutely agree on Ventrue for Vivi, she would accept no less. She'd probably try to talk the DM into letting her be a Prince too. lol Somehow, and I don't know why, but, I think Cole would like Toreador. But maybe Ravnos would suit better Hmmmm....think Sera would be a Lasombra or a Toreador(for the speed). Gangrel for Solas, maybe? IB as a Brujah, definitely. And Varric...hmmm... Okay, I need to stop this...atleast for the moment...lol

Solas> All right.  But, Inquisitor?  Next time you want to rub your face all over my clothing, ask first.  It's just a suggestion, but maybe we'd both enjoy it more if I were wearing it at the time.

 

The next morning...

INQUISITOR is sound asleep wrapped up in a sleeping roll.  SOLAS ducks under the tent flap.  It's the wee hours of the morning; the sun isn't up yet.

Solas> Are you awake? (He shakes the Inquisitor's shoulder after asking this.)

Inquisitor> AH!  BEARS--AAAaaah--Oh--oih.  Solas, it's just you. Mf.  Is it my turn for watch--wait I had watch last night.  Wait, why are you in my tent?

Solas> You said we'd talk more about you taking my clothes off in the dark this morning.

Inquisitor> It can't be morning.  It's dark out.

Solas> I thought if we were going to talk about it, we might end up actually giving it a try.

Inquisitor> Talk about... Urgh.  Solas.  I meant I might be open to the idea... You know.  In time.  After we've got some sort of established relationship.

Solas> Now you're just playing with my emotions.  I thought we could spend some time together talking about being naked on my fur pelt. It's soft, you know.

Inquisitor> Yes, I know.  But you're in my tent and I need sleep.  If you want to talk about romantic things, maybe we should do that in the morning.  As in after daylight.  And I didn't mean literally talking about taking your clothes off... well, okay, maybe a little, but... This is so awkward.  You're enjoying this, aren't you?

Solas> (smirking) Tremendously.

Inquisitor> You knew what I meant, didn't you?

Solas> Yes.  But I was curious how serious you were.  My pelt needs to know if this is just going to be a fling or if you want to take your time and get serious.  It doesn't just cuddle with anyone, you know.

Inquisitor> ... Your pelt.  Solas, I think we BOTH need sleep.

Solas begins spreading his fur pelt on the ground next to the bedroll.

Inquisitor> What are you doing?

Solas> I just thought you two might want some alone time.

Inquisitor> Um... ?

Solas> I'm going back to my tent now.  You two have fun.  And don't forget to come see me again when you want to try that taking-my-clothing-off-in-the-dark thing.

Solas exits, leaving his fur pelt/coat behind.

Inquisitor> (mumbling to self) Did that just happen?

I dunno... Solas seems like he could be rather nerdy, and Sera seems like she's more street smart than book smart. I think a lot of their conversations could involve Solas trying to explain something and Sera really not getting it. Though those could make for some fun party banters in their own right.

Yep I also think it's going to be on monday, earlier is always better ofcourse but I think they're waiting a bit now because they just revealed Dorian. I can't wait to finally see Solas' face and an awesome quote of his on the website! So now the only problem I have is finding something to kill time until then..

The original poster of the thread wasn't really interested in Solas anymore and suggested we might want to start a new thread with someone who would be more active in updating the original post with new info as it's released.

Ah geez... so I went into one of the other threads and saw yet another Nicholas Cage is Solas meme... Hopefully once Bioware releases his character profile and some new pictures we can move on already?

 

Also, the more I think about it and see DaGaider's comments re: Solas, the more convinced I am he wrote him.  Especially since DaGaider says one of the characters is one he's always wanted to write, and is going to be really different from any companion we've seen previously.  (Was convinced he might be Dorian, but Dorian's personality, at least superficially, seems a bit like a cross between Zevran and DAA Anders.)

 

Somehow I can see Solas having a bit of Gaider's personality actually - at least his sense of humor.  Oh dear.
