Spoiler
Haha, I misunderstood what you wrote and at first I was like "... How is Lavellan WEARING a Dread Wolf?":D
... Then I sort of realized that she sort of could... if, say, she succeeded to kill him if he was ever in his wolf form >.> Erm, that tuned out dark...
Anyway, remember how Weekes told us to analyze post-epilogue and Trespasser meeting scene to see similarities? Well, there's another, earlier similarity between Solas and Flemythal that I always have to laugh at ![]()
*Inky to Solas at the very beginning if the game*: What did you do?
Solas: I did nothing.
*Well-drinking Morrigan after Flemeth uses Well powers to stop her from attacking*: What have you done to me?
Flemeth: I have done nothing!
Hahaha, guess we now know who he takes that from...
Huh... I was just scrolling through my Tumblr dashboard to get caught up on all the Dragon Age Confessions that I missed while playing in the Goose Cam chat room, and a random quote from a random blog that I am not subscribed to pops up. It pretty much describes Solavellan, for my Lavellan, anyway:
"When someone makes you the happiest person and the saddest person at the same time, that's when it's real. That's when it's worth something."

The tutorial is over. Now, the real quest begins. On April 28, six goslings hatched into a planter prison atop BioWare’s Edmonton studio. Legions of fans turned goose cam watchers named the renegade squad after beloved and infamous characters from Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Star Wars: the Old Republic. True to their namesakes, the goslings embarked on what seemed like a suicide mission—descending four storeys to safety under the supervision of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Edmonton, and their parents, Ganders and the Arishonk.

So, I was musing of different lore aspects when I remembered something weird about lyrium - when you give Justice the lyrium ring in DA:A he mentions that he hears singing (not so strange, dwarves seem to hear singing from lyrium as well) but he also mentions that the lyrium in the fade does not sing. That's rather strange, isn't it? Also, Cole mentions in banter that once "everything sang the same", presumably before the Veil was sundered - but if the lyrium doesn't sing in the Fade, and the Fade and "real" world used to be intertwined, how is that possible?
Furthermore, it is very interesting how lyrium seems to not only be able to bring people back to life who are dying or close to (like Arl Eamon) but also virtually resurrect people like Leliana and possibly the Guardian of the Sacred Ashes (it is possible that the Guardian merely had his lifespan prolonged, but in Heroes of Dragon Age he is listed as a spirit, so I'm inclined to believe that he and a killed Leliana is of the same kind). If lyrium is alive and can sing other things into life... does it have a soul or is something controlling it, like the Titans? If something is controlling it, how far can it reach? What is its goal? So many questions!
Thoughts?
So, I was musing of different lore aspects when I remembered something weird about lyrium - when you give Justice the lyrium ring in DA:A he mentions that he hears singing (not so strange, dwarves seem to hear singing from lyrium as well) but he also mentions that the lyrium in the fade does not sing. Also, Cole mentions in banter that once "everything sang the same", presumably before the Veil was sundered - but if the lyrium doesn't sing in the Fade, and the Fade and "real" world used to be intertwined, how is that possible?
Well, the reason for it might be that we do know that Titans are... unwell? Dunno how to call it - we do know that something bad happened to them looong ago. More than likely long before the Veil, since evidence in Trespasser the Evanuris has fought, slain (enslaved?) and then mined the Titans for lyrium and "something else", and possibly subjugated them for some other reasons too ("They made bodies from the earth. And the earth was afraid. It fought back. But they made it forget.").
And I was wondering what could have happened to the Titans ever since Descent, and the only conclusion I have so far is that they have been sundered from the Fade. There are hints (many of them Cole's remarks, obviously) that this is what was done to them and in fact in Descent we have large hints to know how - the codices on Gates of Segrummar tell us that there's an enormous sigil "written" just above the Titan that can only be visible from the Fade. It may be what keeps them pacified.
What's more, many people attribute The Whispers in Red Lyrium to Evanuris - but those might as well belong to the Titans. And, well... since those are whispers in Red Lyrium, it seems that those are Corrupted Titans (or, alternatively, Very Angry Titans).
So that may be the reason why the "Fade Lyrium" ain't singing - the Titans were sundered from the Fade, hence their singing doesn't reach it? Obviously some tentative collection remains, since Dagna tells us that lyrium and the Fade are linked (and Solas tells us that aside form mages lyrium is the sole source of magic in Thedas), but it's too subdued or faint to matter.
Of course, the Veil might have had an impact on them too, since it separates them from the Fade further, possibly?
Let's also not forget materializing Valta's journal pages in Skyhold after Inquisitor's in Deep Roads was done. It's noted that they just appear out of nowhhere, between Josie's papers and other places in Skyhold.
As for the soul... well I do think that it's alive, but the Titan or Stone are likely not a singular being, but a form of collective consciousness. Again, Cole throws some light on this:
"Their ancient shapers were mountains drawn of all their wills, walking their memories into valleys of the world"
or
"It's singing. A they that's an it that's asleep, but still making music."
Then there's also Dagna who said that she had a moment where she experienced like her thought was "all their thoughts". So yeah, collective consciousness, most definitely.
Additionally I'd like to mention that I think that the Titans, or the Stone, are likely what collectively can be called Earth - a counterpart to Sun, that is realm of the Fade, and possibly responsible for all things physical and "real" in 'unchanging world' mentioned in vir Dirthara codices. This would explain how Templars, who use lyrium to get their abilities to "reinforce reality".
And for anyone who'd point out that Seeker abilities are granted by a spirit and therefore not lyrium/Titan-based I'd say this - Seekers appear to be people with at least partially re-established connection to the Fade. They're, technically, mages, or - very possibly - abominations. Their way of "reinforcing reality" is predominantly... and I know how it will sound
... believing in it. They bond with Faith spirits after all - it would be perfectly consistent why they'd have a power to reinforce reality they believe in. And since they have connection to the Fade and own reserves of power, they don't have to borrow lyrium's power to do that.

No Squarke or Ganders?
Ganders is the mother goose's name. It's already taken. ![]()
For the first time I wish I had twitter, so I could have thrown some names into the hat before they named them all.

What's Squarke? I should probably know this.
Some I thought of just now:
Abeloose, Tali Feathers, Flemegg, Mother Gooselle (I think that was from the goosecam chat.)
