Urgh I can't sleep.. Time to write some lore thoughts.

You know how Solas talks about Barindur? The city that disappeared with traces of volcanic activity?
Well, volcanoes are sort of connected with earthquakes right? It's just the rupturing point (I think). We know titans cause earthquakes.. see where I'm going here? Barindur went down like.. 700 years before Arlathan so it's possible the titans were kicking up.

And on a related note: could the Old God prisons be located near titans? Urthemiel came from the Storm Coast area apparently, and the prison where the darkspawn were praying was found around there. Then the titan was there also.

I found a map someone made labeling the Old God's locations:



Since Barindur was a Tevene city, I wonder which Old God it could've potentially been near. The codex talks about plains and Dumat, so it could've been near Dumat.

Barindur was mentioned in WoT1 and again by Solas, then we're likely going to Tevinter.. so it seems relevant and maybe important.

two old gods are missed Lusacan/Razikale(they can't be in the same prison i think) and Serpentine.

Funny to see how that serpent of Urthemiel was near the warden house all the time(in case of the noble warden)

Oh, it's a bit of an inside joke. A friend and I were sick of seeing the term Mary Sue get thrown around the forums, so she wrote a short story with me in it and called me a Mary Sue.

I cannot restrain my admiration for Solas' wolfy elf ears any longer. There's just something about the line of them that I find extremely elegant, with a hint of predatory. Yes, I know, it's weird. But they're just the most perfect elf ears ever. I am almost tempted to see if I can replicate them using the CC sliders somehow.

I cannot restrain my admiration for Solas' wolfy elf ears any longer. There's just something about the line of them that I find extremely elegant, with a hint of predatory.

 

Wolf ears are actually fairly short and rounded, so not quite in keeping with what Solas has. I will agree they are a nice shape though. It was difficult making a nice set in the CC, especially with one of the head presets. Looked like massive bat ears instead of nice elegant elf ears.

I know - I live in wolf country. It's not the length of Solas' ears so much as the curve of the exterior edges that reminds me of wolves. The upper edge closest to his skull is convex, but then it curves more concave near the tips. It's very reminiscent of a wolf's ears when you are looking at the wolf in profile, not front-on.

In terms of length, most elf ears are more analogous to fennec ears.  ;D

Oh, THERE IT IS. I am transcribing Solas romance conversations and cutscenes to refer to for my fic. Way, way back, I could have *sworn* I heard Solas say something along the lines of "You cannot change anything without understanding it," which is kind of important to my story. But when I went to look for it again to confirm whether he did actually say it or whether I dreamed it, I could not find it. That's because he only says it if you side with the Templars, and I've only sided with the mages. I must have watched him say that in a YouTube video, not actually in my game.

I head canon that my Lavellan was teased and bullied because her ears were so long, and they kept on calling her "nug ears". I'd like to think Solas has a fetish for long ears, or at least thinks it's more cute than anything.

 

I had meat rabbits and dogs but once they got out of their hutches the dogs would hunt them down. One rabbit had holes in her ears from all the bites.

On the subject of Solas's ears, I'd love to nibble them.

With my new mage Lavellan, Meera, I headcanon that her romance with Solas is entirely in dreams in the Fade.  They're close friends outside of the Fade and have a deep but platonic relationship. Their first "real" kiss will be in Trespasser.  Yes, Solas can even remove Vallaslin from the Fade .

 

(I'm using the Multiple Romance Mod so she can be with both Cullen and Solas--don't judge me --so I wanted to create a headcanon that makes it work.  I'll just ignore any comments about her and Solas and just pretend it's just teasing, heh.)

My DAI Cinematic Tools was never able to capture these things because in cut scenes, when I pressed "delete" to hide the UI, the entire scene would go blank, too. It's like the actual cut scene cinematic becomes part of the UI layer during scripted cinematic cut scenes. So when I hide the UI, I hide the whole scene

Maaan. I'm not sure how I feel about a 3D printed Solas (and party). If it was hand-modelled in Zbrush or something, sure... but it was just printed from a game file and now they are selling it. -shakes head- Conflicted about the ethics of that. :S

Though while on the topic of figures... is it just me, or are American figures always poop compared to Asian figures? I'm not a huge fan of the stuff in the Bioware store (except for that Tali, but... modelled in Asia?). Strange how that works.

All I did was turn off the subtitles for the cutscenes to get these shots.  I didn't turn off the UI.
