But what about the Thaig in DA2? I guess it was never confirmed as a Titan, but it seems likely.
I thought about that, and have a couple ideas.
We technically have no indication that blight hurts a Titan, do we? We know blight hurts everything else, but nothing about Titans b/c, as I said before, darkspawn seem to avoid Titans and we've not actually come across a living one that's tainted. And yet we get red lyrium on the surface, which is taint in a Titan's blood. If the darkspawn aren't giving it to them, since they avoid them, then it must come from another source. Since we know of no other carrier for the taint in the Deep Roads, I think it is reasonable to say the taint is coming from the Titan itself.
So, if the primeival thaig is in fact formerly a Titan, then perhaps the taint that made that lyrium red is the Titan's doing.
Alternatively, the red lyrium in the idol could also just not originally be from that thaig.
