Edit: One suggestion is to make a public google group. It can act as a forum with multiple threads. 

 

And if you guys know a way to archive threads, please let me know.

Same.  I've not been active here but that's because there's not much new going on.

That's an important point, I don't know how, I don't have the technical know-how. If anyone does please let us know.

The only problem with google my account is connected to my real name, which I don't feel like sharing.  Is there anyway of taking part in a google group and have it show a username instead?

Re: A New Home (cause thats the essence of the problem really) the solution (if they don't change their minds) will be one of the following, I imagine, because **** trying to recreate the Blanketfort on sites like Reddit or Tumblr (altho a network of Blanketforters on Tumblr would be cool/kind of already exists informally etc)

 

1. Creating our own Solas forum

2. Recreating the Solas thread in whichever Replacement BSN forum that the BSN community will inevitably create itself proves most popular (this is my personal preference btw)

3. Recreating the Blanketfort in a different kind of location entirely ex. Google hangouts suggestion

 

Looking at that list, which do you guys prefer? I'm not here to dictate, only help provision.

 

An important thing to remember is that just like how this thread has a private group and a IM group, that making a thread on some new forum doesn't preclude us from also making our own thing elsewhere too.

My post was in reference to archiving the Solas thread from the BSN not Google.

 

I understand not wanting to share real names, that's why BioWare's "use Facebook" idea is dumb.

 

I don't really make use of Googlegroups or whatever myself so I'm not versed in what's possible there atm, sorry

I haven't been here in a very long time but I saw the announcement on Twitter and was pretty sad.  I spent a good.... 10 months?... in this thread, refreshing probably hundreds of times a day and made friends I still chat with on other sites.  I hope you guys can find some way to stick together and I'm sorry you're losing such a cool place

There are not enough curse words existing for me to express how unhappy I am with this decision. Is this forum at least going to be archived somewhere? I use google to search old discussion and find tidbits of lore all the time. Not to mention all of the da-wiki links that will be broken!

In whatever new location we go to I will fix all the links n **** fear not   thats one thing I can do.

I'm totally in for a new forum, even if it means creating it ourselves, even in 2016. The first thing I did when I came to the internet at 10 was creating my forum so I'm not the slightest scared

I don't know much about other services but i'd definitely follow you all to the chosen place

Now that my life met SolavellanHellHome it is NECESSARY for survival

I love Bioware because of the games they make but seriously I'm suddenly feeling so much less exited for MEA and even DA4 than I was just an hour ago... because I won't be able to discuss it with people. Share my experiences, thoughts and ask questions. Not the same way I could here anyway. Twitter is not a place for proper discussion and Reddit threads disappear so quickly... this really, really sucks.

Exact same opinion, as for tumblr the interactivity is nowhere as close as what a forum can give, well except if you have lots of followers maybe but it's definitely not the same
